Missing from Champions Trophy, WI reach the pits of no hope

West Indies ex-players, fans brace for worse times to come

The fall of West Indies to No. 9 in ODI rankings is bewildering, and they regularly provide a clue of how they achieved this fall. After winning the T20 series 3-0 against Afghanistan, West Indies again gave a demonstration of freefalling, losing the first ODI by 63 runs. Chasing 213, they were down to 90/7 and then 149/10, failing to tackle the leg-spin of Rashid Khan.

The former players aren’t happy. "It's really a shame. It is sad," West Indies bowling legend Curtly Amrose said recently. “It's not a nice feeling at all, but that's the way it is. We are not playing as well as we can, so it's up to us as a nation, and the cricketers themselves, to bring back this tradition we have to get West Indies cricket near the top again.”

Pursuing T20 cash

six-hour

I don't blame the players, CWI uses them then discards them in a whim.

NOW....lets give amnesty and peace a chance

POINT 2017-07-19 14:13:04

The first thing that must be done is
to completely restructure Cricket in the Region , starting with the governance of Cricket in the Region .

I have stated in this Forum on several occasions that my view is that WE should have One Entity , with 2 Departments . An Administrative Department & A Cricket Department .

The Mission Statement must emphatically state that the main
goals are to adhere to all the Principles involved in Good Governance . This must include Total
Transparency ; Total Accountable ;
and the belief that the main purpose of those in both the Administrative &
Cricket Departments is to restore the
Greatness of Our Teams & Players once more in International Cricket .

The Administrative Department will have the usual complement of Officials , and also PRO personnel , etc .

The Cricket Department will be staffed by former Great Players , they will deal with everything pertaining to Cricket .

In essence , the Administrative Department will stay mainly in their
Lane & the Cricket Department will also mainly stay in their Lane . Obviously there will be occasions when they both have to interact with each other .

It is quite evident that you did not see the word before Amnesty , that word is TEMPORARY , now if you are in doubt regarding the meaning of the word TEMPORARY , look it up .

The article is just over a month old.Promises are being made but..........

We as die-hard West Indies Cricket fans have seen a few promises
not kept by this Administration.

As Point noted that word TEMPORARY is of concern to me.

Cameron is not a man of his word, the PM's of the region can attest
to such.

I am expecting him to back track an rescind, any thing implied or not.

What bothers me is not a word from the Seniors, why would such prevail when amnesty is being offered.

Journalism in the Caribbean suck, they all sing fer dem supper when CWI calls,
promises were made to the Seniors in Maimi. Meeting were held nothing done.
How many called out the Administration?

I am an outsider looking in, no comment by seniors to date is a concern.
I don't trust this Administration with this Board of Directors.

Cameron gats 8 votes in his back pocket, that carries a lot of weight.

I came to that realization over a Decade ago ; and stated that in this Forum . Perhaps that is why they say
I keep repeating myself .

Any idea why the Seniors are quiet?

Are they like I am from Missouri?

They too were made promises and ignored?

I have no idea , but perhaps they are
waiting to see if & when Pm. Rowley
has his day in Court .

When he does , and prevails , then the Floodgate of Lawsuits will begin .
They should not telegraph their Strategy regarding what they intend doing , that I would agree with that. The Element of Surprise always keeps
Others Off balanced .

If what You stated is all that You can contribute , I am not impressed . Generally when people are critical of something , they cite precisely why they are Critical of it .

Governments have different Departments , so also does Stores etc
The gist of what I have stated is
that there will be One Entity , but that entity will have two Departments
an Administrative Department & a Cricket Department .

I simply want both Department stay in their Lanes . I do not want personnel in the Administrative Department tell
the People in the Cricket Dept. what they must or must not do ; and vice versa . BTW , you may be offended to
know that I have stated this before .

This rebuts You and other Jokers who
state that I have never offered Solutions . So pardon me for once again repeating myself , in case you are reading this for the first time .

ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE PLAYED CRICKET

KNOW WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO MAKE OUR

PLAYERS FULLY COMPETITIVE IN THE

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET ARENA .

The Presidents ; Vice Presidents , Secretaries , Treasurers etc , do not
know one blasted thing about what it
takes or what is needed to make our
Players fully competitive in the Freaking International Cricket Arena .

HOWEVER THE MAIN PURPOSE OF HAVING 1

ENTITY , WITH AN ADMINISTRATIVE DEPT.

& A CRICKET DEPARTMENT IS TO

ELIMINATE THE MASTERS & SERFS

MENTALITY THAT HAS PERMEATED CRICKET

IN THE REGION .

It is this Freaking idea that there
must be always an Ocean between those
currently in the Administration of Cricket in the Region , and those who
Represent US in Cricket .

Therefore in a nutshell I simply want
Those in Administration to do what they know Best & those who have played Cricket at the highest level to do what they know best .

Doing this will over time eliminate
the Masters & Serfs Mentality that
has existed in West Indies Cricket for 89 freaking Years .

It really is simple , If you are building a House , You do not hire a
Funeral UnderTaker to build your House .

In International Cricket , in recent
years Our Players have dominated the
Shortest version of the game . The stark Fact is that this version of the game was not controlled by the
WICBC .

It was our Former Great Players who
Coached & Prepared Our Players to be
the best in the World in this version of the Game . This Folks is precisely
why in my opinion THEY must be in
Total Control of the Cricket Department .

POINT 2017-07-20 08:35:15

Those in the Administration of Cricket
in the Region need to realize that
they are not above Players , hence a
recognition of Equality is needed ,
so that HARMONY PREVAILS in West Indies Cricket , after Decades of MASTERS & SERFS .

THE OPERATING WORD IN ALL THIS THAT

I HAVE PROPOSED IS HARMONY , WE NEED

TO STOP THIS ASININE BELIEF THAT

THOSE IN ADMINISTRATION ARE ABOVE

THOSE WHO REPRESENT THE REGION IN

CRICKET .

I have never ever heard about Temporary Amnesty until now . One either gets Amnesty ,or they do not get it .

In essence the Emperor is holding a Club over the heads of Players , HE is saying this is going to be a very short Amnesty , so get on board now before the Temporary Amnesty is closed .

However this is designed to urge ALL
Players to get on board NOW . I hope
that this Stunt does not persuade Prime Minister Rowley from taking the
Bums to Court ; in essence he is Resolute in his resolve to have his
Day in Court regarding the abysmal
Failures of the WICBC/CWI .

Firstly An amnesty is always for a given period, it allows persons an opportunity to make things right, for example a gun amnesty, a tax amnesty, but after awhile these expire but i paid no attention to the word temporary, since an amnesty is an amnesty and i would urge you to do the same, however, it is a move in the right direction, which pleases me, I now want to see it continue with a more moderate criterion for team selection, it is important that all our players are available for selection barring injury, this amnesty allows that

our problems within the CWI are a long way from being fixed, but it is better today than it was 4 weeks ago. it is up to the players now in the spirit of compromise and the benefit of the people to play their part and work hard at their game as we were losing even when they played

sgtdjones 2017-07-20 10:39:39

In reply to Arawak

I agree

This is why I will not be critical of any of the players.

How can a Board and Administration see that what ever plans they have ( I hope they do have one), is not working as we slowly fall
to bottom.

Pybus and his report was a complete failure that was presented to the Board and approved.

Now we must qualify for tournaments.

redface redface

mikesiva 2017-07-20 15:35:26

I see the author of the article spoke to British people of Caribbean descent and trying to figure out why they don't support west indies any more.

Well I have worked with a lot of young black Britons of Caribbean descent and I couldn't find one who was interested in cricket much less west indies. They don't want to be the next viv Richards or Michael holding. They want to be the next Ian Wright or john Barnes.

They are fans of English club football now.

I strongly object to the word Temporary being Placed before Amnesty . It infers that at some point there aint going to be any Amnesty at all .

My take is that this TEMPORARY
AMNESTY steeped in chicanery ; but
then this is the Modus Operandi of the Emperor & his Minions .

There is always a hidden Agenda behind the utterance & actions of the
Worst International Cricket Board in
the Commonwealth .

For those who did not carefully read
the WICBC/CWI pronouncement , there
is a distinct difference between Temporary Amnesty & Amnesty .
