Heat Two - Chevaughn Walsh (Ant)
Heat Three - Mario Burke (Bdos)
Heat Four - Ramon Gittens (Bdos), Warren Fraser (Bah)
Is it Janieve Russell or Leah Nugent?
"Leading the pack to break up that juggernaut is Jamaican Janieve Russell, who's performed well in July, winning in London with a 54.02 season's best, and finishing second in Luzern and Rabat and third in Monaco. Although only 23, Russell, the 2012 world junior champion, comes armed with major championships credentials, which include a fifth place finish at the 2015 World Championships and a seventh place showing in Rio last year. Jamaica will also be represented by Rhonda Whyte and Ristananna Tracey who were 1-2 at the national championships, the former with a 54.39 personal best."
Janieve Russell?
"Jamaica's 400m hurdler Leah Nugent revealed that her below-par performances heading into the London World Championships were, in part, due to a tweak in her technique. That aside, she is now ready to deliver."
Or Leah Nugent?
In reply to mikesiva
Russell was fourth at Ja trials and will be watching the WC on tv.
In reply to Headley
Russell said this was news to her, so you're most likely right again, as usual....
In reply to mikesiva
I've been trying to tell my wife dat.

Blake struggled mightily. dont know if he is still feeling the effect of that injury that cause him to pull out of the diamond league.. Senoj Givans... seriously? waste of a plane fare. Semis tomorrow will be interesting... they will almost have to go all out to make it through
In reply to mikesiva
At you at the stadium or can I catch this somewhere online?

In reply to mikesiva
That was the reason. She looks good though. So too Bowie.
In reply to RoyalDad
elaine ready. you no see that start in the rain?
by the way, Chrissan Gordon not listed on the 400M start list tomorrow? any idea if she is hurt?
In reply to mikesiva
HAD not has. That is not the reason why she is not running the 200m. The reason is that it is hard and unless you are an athlete who can translate that victory in $$$$$$ there is no point doing it at the WC when you have already done it at the Olympics.
We are fans who count medals. Athletes have to be smart and look to maximize $$$$$$$ while minimizing injuries. Bolt made it look easy. It is not.
In reply to rudebway
Not good news.
When you recover from the 100m later today remember not to miss the 400m semis at 1:40 Ja time tomorrow. It may be more exciting than the finals.
Qualifying Heats
In reply to Headley
I am now sitting in the stadium and waiting.
Forte fourth in 10.13. Blake wins his semi in 10.03 I think.
Who else thought that was a little too close for comfort?
In reply to mikesiva
Believe I saw you waving a Jamaican flag.
What's the feeling on the spot? Are the Ja fans confident?
BTW That youth Reece Prescod has very good top end speed. Could create a minor upset for medals.
In reply to JahJah
Woe ye of little faith.
In reply to Headley
I am waving my flag.
But I am not confident at all.
Pity about Dacres finishing fourth in the shot putt final.
In reply to mikesiva
Oh dear....still waving the flag??
In reply to NineMiles
Where ever Bolt goes the flag will always be waving.
A champion of Champions.
He lost to a drug Cheat,
In reply to sgtdjones
My post is directed at MikeSaliva.....keep out of it!
Bolt should have retired after last year Olympics, would have been the perfect ending to his career, now this loss will always be used by his critics.
Still Congrats to Gatlin he never gave up these last couple years and he got Bolt in the end
In reply to NineMiles
Losing to a drug cheat an you celebrating that.
Stuuuuuuuuuups
In reply to problemjay
I agree Growley jr.
In reply to sgtdjones
Get lost you idiot.
In reply to NineMiles
Maybe some day you can tell me such to my face
You will get some free traction for a few months.
In reply to sgtdjones
You are nothing more than another internet warrior. Fack off!
In reply to NineMiles
What ever you say man.
In reply to sgtdjones
Good...know your place pleb!
And for the record, I'm not laughing at Bolt....it's directed at Miksiva who has nothing good to say about the country he's made home.
Not even a congrats to Sir Mo.
You can have the last word sergeant!
In reply to NineMiles
Keep braying .
It suits you .
In reply to Headley
Told ya. Something looked off in that semi. Saw it coming.
I wonder if he's going to change is mind about retiring?
Perhaps not.
He can party as much as he always wanted to now.
In reply to JahJah and Mikesiva
He just had a very poor start and could not recover in time. He has spoiled us so much we expect him to always win.
In reply to rudebway
Chrisann Gordon here. Start list.
In reply to Headley
I can agree with that.
Was not ready on his last big stage race.Horrible start.
In reply to JahJah

Not for nothing, but mentally you have to be ready in big events like these. Feel bad for Levy.
Guy had 3rd fastest time in event and knocked 1st hurdle.
In reply to RoyalDad
13.53 qualified for semis. Levey could have jogged that. Case of inexperience and nerves I guess.
In reply to RoyalDad

Ato says the table has turned.
Elaine is 25;
Bowie 27.
Talou almost 30.
Schippers 25.
Congrats to the winner though. Talou bwoy just missed. Feared her more than Bowie.
In reply to RoyalDad
Still trying to figure out what went wrong with Elaine. I did not see an obvious stumble. I will need to see slo mo.
Not sure what table Atto is seeing. May be a comment to satisfy the USA folks. As you know we have plenty more young talent to come especially females.
Bowie has been running well since 2015. Ta Lou is good and peaked at the right time.
In reply to Headley
Not sure what table Atto is seeing. May be a comment to satisfy the USA folks

In reply to mikesiva
I had to google uh.. her.
In reply to rudebway
ChrisAnn Gordon (Jca) 50.87. She peaked at 50.32 PB for the college season.
There is a pattern here. Kerley and Bloomfield had a full college season. Nathon Allen had one semester and it seems to have worked out better.
Dat was some great competition in the Women's Triple Jump and 1500 m
In reply to Headley
disappointed for Chrissan, but i hope she continues to work at it. Surprising to me is that Sherika doesnt seem to be in medal form. I liked her from her Vere days. MVP athetes are usually ready.
You probably have a point regarding the college season, cause at Bloomfield was shot at trials, and Kerley is not the monster frm earlier in the season.
In reply to rudebway
Only college individual to make an impact seems to be Coleman.
Allen doing well due to his 1/2 season. Well stated.
Replay of today's events now on NBC's Olympic Channel.

What yu hearing about ET? Been reading that she was a victim of this before the 100m
In reply to mikesiva
Ristiania Tracey won her semi final... big up all Frankfield massive and crew. Country people run tings.
In reply to JahJah
I hadn't heard anything! But if you hear, do post a link...that said, I found this:
"Olympic champion Elaine Thompson was also physically sick before the 100 metres final on Sunday, though the Jamaican said that was not unusual for her and hadn't had any effect on her below-par performance. She finished fifth."
More here
here as well
And here
I wouldn't be surprised, given that the NoroVirus is transmitted in an environment where poor hygiene is practised. These British hotels have very poor hygiene...one of Britain's dirty secrets.
These hotels tend to contract their cleaning out to cleaning companies. a relative of mine worked for one of these companies, and because she came from Jamaica, she would scrub and clean thoroughly, each and every room.
But she got into trouble...why? She was cleaning too slow. She was assigned a number of rooms, and she was only doing half of them. The company, and the hotel, didn't care that she was doing it properly. She was supposed to achieve numerical targets.
Eventually, an East European colleague of hers pulled her one side, and showed her what to do. Sweep dirt under bed, only clean top surfaces, and make it LOOK clean. Mission accomplished...no wonder there's Noro Virus.
What she had to say about working in the hotel kitchens was enough to make my stomach crawl
.

Yes gentlemen. The 100m is good and the 200m is fine but the long sprint is best. As the lady said "all this foreplay is good but bring on the main course",
In reply to Headley
Wade van Niekerk easily wins the men's 400m final...43.98!
Silver to Steven Gardner...44.41.
A pity Makwala was not allowed to run.
Nathon Allen fifth in 44.88, Demish Gaye sixth in 45.02.
In reply to mikesiva
Since Makwala didn't run, who get bronze?
You are leaving out key info, bro.
In reply to mikesiva
Looks like the IAAF blocked Makwala from running the 400m due to illness.
In reply to mikesiva
There seems to be something not right that van Niekerk finishes the race like if he had just finished a light jog....no hard breathing....no visible display of pain....face and body muscles appear to be relaxed
while everyone else...who finished far behind.....all collapsed on the ground from exhaustion......taking in huge GASPS of air...bodies and faces contorted etc.
Weird
In reply to imusic
Lots of weird things going on in London.
There is growing outrage of the fukkry over the IAAF blocking Makwala from running against the new "golden boy" Van Niekerk due to his perceived "illness". No tests were done. Nothing observed. Makwala said he was ready to go. He had warmed up and everything.
They turned him away from the stadium entrance!! WTF, yo!
In reply to imusic
Is like van Niekerk running on vampire blood or something.
In reply to DukeStreet
I now reading about that. There MUST be more to it than that
Given Seb Coe's pronouncements about Gatlin.....I not exactly surprised.
Ah mean...what conclusion people will immediately jump to given them kinda iffy circumstances?
Unfair to Makwala to say the least
In reply to mikesiva
I was hoping Allen could beat Thebe but Haroun came along and surprisingly beat both of them.
I am satisfied Ja had 2 finalists. Long time since we even had one. Looking down the road we have 2-3 others (including Donkey Man and Bloomfield maybe Chris Taylor) who I expect to be at this level at next World Cup. Good relay team shaping up.
In reply to Headley
Makwala recovers from his infectious desease,Botswana look like gold.
Good showing by our guys. Bright future as you indicate.
In reply to RoyalDad
Not disease, virus.
That can spread.
In reply to DukeStreet
Haroun bronze, they were so far back i couldn't figure out who came third.
Rubbish to bar Makwala from going to work. The norovirus affects the UK every winter and it's left to the discretion of the workers to go to work. Some employers will threaten to fire workers if they don't turn up. I was fired from a job in the UK because I was sick with the norovirus.
The only exception is if you work in food preparation. Then you are sent home. A BBC interview showed the IAAF was acting on the advice of the NHS. But this was an overreaction. If Makwala was American i wonder if they would have barred him.
Makwala doesn't work in that industry. But it is probably people who work in the hotel kitchens who gave him that virus. The NHS says that one of the best ways to prevent the transmission of the norovirus is to wash your hands after using the toilet. Those of us who have used public facilities in the UK will have noticed that a helluva lot of British people don't wash their hands after using the toilet. And one of the ways this norovirus is transmitted is if fecal matter finds its way into the food you eat.
The hotel has a lot of questions to answer.
In reply to mikesiva
What industry are you in Mikey? kitchen porter? flipping burgers??
In reply to NineMiles
That's when I went through a bad patch, and worked at Amazon, under horrific conditions...It is typically British to make fun of folks who work as porters and in burger joints.
Things are better now, but I've resolved that if I ever go through another bad patch like that again, I would rather go back to Jamaica. Since amazon, I got my Masters, and I'm now doing my PhD. Because even if they don't have value in the UK, they should in Jamaica.
I never want to end up working at a place like Amazon again....
In reply to mikesiva
Amazon, Sports Direct and the like are shitty places to work at... zero hours contracts, minimum wage etc.
Hope your plans of settling back in Jam is going well.... just make sure it's in a gated community!
In reply to mikesiva
But she got into trouble...why? She was cleaning too slow. She was assigned a number of rooms, and she was only doing half of them. The company, and the hotel, didn't care that she was doing it properly. She was supposed to achieve numerical targets.
The problem was the hotels probably weren't paying the cleaning companies enough to cover additional time needed to properly clean the hotels. A shame because in the end it's the consumers who get hurt the most.
In reply to DukeStreet
Exactly...in Jamaica, they clean properly, because if an American tourist ever became ill, the negative publicity would destroy the tourist industry. Here in the UK, the hotel management is hinting that this norovirus was brought to the hotel by an athlete...living in denial.
We don't have a norovirus problem in Jamaica, and when my parents lived in Barbados, they didn't have a norovirus problem there. However, when they lived in the tiny island of Bequia, they had a norovirus problem every winter, whenever a cruise ship came to the island from Europe.
The norovirus is Europe's zika...except while zika was all over the North Atlantic media last year, the North Atlantic ignores the plague of norovirus in Europe.
Women's shot putt qualifying yesterday....
Danielle Thomas-Dodd (Jca) 18.42
Gleneve Grange (Jca) 15.96
Thomas-Dodd advanced to today's final....
"Botswana's Isaac Makwala will run an individual time trial in an attempt to qualify for the 200m semi-finals at the World Championships in London. Makwala, 30, missed the 200m heats and the 400m final as he was barred from competing for 48 hours while organisers tried to halt a norovirus outbreak. He came out of quarantine at 14:00 BST today, and his qualification race will be in London Stadium at 18:40."
Make of that what you will
He runs 20.20 in front of a loudly cheering crowd, then does push ups to point out how fit he is....
In reply to mikesiva
LOL
I feel badly for him though about the 400m. I hope he puts a buss ass on all of them in the 200m Final.
In reply to DukeStreet
Aisha Praught (Jca) fourth in her heat of the women's 3000m steeplechase....9:26.37.

Doesn't look good for Blake.
In reply to mikesiva
JR is special. DAMN!
Van Niekerk gassed now. Qualifies as fastest loser
Means Yohan Blake is out. Surprising
Of the 3 semis....dare I say it....JR looked "bolt like" in how he beat the opposition
Way in front....easing up long before the end. Glancing back with 50 metres to go. Looks to have plenty left in the tank.
Impressive.
In reply to Headley
Co-signed.

Don't understand Van Niekerk
Ran a sub 44 second 400 yesterday and look fresh as a daisy at the end. Look like he coulda run again
Run half that distance today and he absolutely spent. Weird

Women's long jump qualifying...Chantal Malone (BVI) 6.52 qualified for the final.
Bianca Stuart (Bah) 5.91 and Shara Proctor (GB/Anguilla) 6.45 did not make it.
In reply to NineMiles
I not insinuating anything. I don't recall ever seeing any athlete that fresh after a 400 metre race at that level of competition. Especially given the time he ran. Remarkable
In reply to mikesiva
Hard luck for Ms Tomas-Dodd. Competed excellently
In reply to imusic
Yeah. Just missed a medal.
Clement the Trini third.
Karston Warholm (who??) of Norway wins the 400m hurdles...their first gold since 1987.
In reply to NineMiles
These conditions were made for Warholm...did you see him in the two Diamond League meets in Scandinavia? First and second vs a top class field.

2) Y. Capello (Turk) 48.49

Damn, another fourth place! That must be the most painful position of all....
Watch Ouibo win this without a dive. No controversy this time..
In reply to archangel
Funny how the Americans didn't have a problem with Bowie's dive to win the women's 100m final on Sunday....
In reply to NineMiles
He playing dead tuh ketch cobeau alive.
Didn't see Jereem's race. How he look?
Okay -- Everybody quiet. TriniD gyuh "Chicken Legs" bout tuh race. TriniD hopes she watched TriniD's "side piece" Tori Bowie, and learned how tuh dive.

In reply to DukeStreet
Even if she does... ...it won't.

Lends credence to the notion that most women athletes fall apart faster with age then most men do. There are exceptions, of course, but that notion seems to hold true, bruh.

In reply to mikesiva
Well, dats what you get when you buy cheap seats!
In reply to mikesiva
BTW, were hoping to watch Bolt in the 200m final?
In reply to NineMiles
That's the worst part. They are not cheap tickets. I guess I am paying for a view of the finish line. There are others who can't see it.
Good thing I brought my binoculars.
Walcott threw 86.01 with his first attempt.
In reply to mikesiva
Mike is there anything more boring than the triple jump
Sheesh
In reply to mikesiva
Kori Carter out of lane 9 for the gold

T&T Richards wins bronze in 200 m
started slowly
In reply to mikesiva
not surprisingly, we dont he a finalist in the womens 200. none of our entrants ran under 23. Damn i a missing VCB, Kerron, and Sherone.
Miller ran well in the semi so i guess she was not hurt in the 400. it will be her against Daphne.
In reply to Halliwell
Sheesh
Did you see Ms Ibarguen and Ms Rosas competing?
In reply to mikesiva
Excellent run for the bronze, very well paced. Beating Ms. Hejnova has never been easy.. A 53.75 PB I believe.
In reply to Headley
Unfortunately no
Only saw the men's event
In reply to sgtdjones
Congrats to Richards...he has the potential to be really good. I hope he pushes on next season. This is now a weak event, and if he can clock under 20 seconds when it counts, the gold medal is there for the taking.
There was an American 1-2 in the final of the women's 400m hurdles, which was won by Kori Carter in 53.07, ahead of Delilah Mohammed (53.50). Jamaican Ristananna Tracey took the bronze medal with a personal best of 53.74.
The men's 200m final was disappointing, and seems to be suffering from a post-Usain Bolt hangover. It was won by Turkey's Ramil Guliyev in a slow time of 20.09, ahead of favourite Wayde van Niekerk of South africa and Trinidadian Jereem Richards, both of whom clocked 20.11.
In yesterday's triple jump final, Yordanys Duranova (Dominica) came 11th with a leap of 16.42.
In the women's 200m semis, all three Jamaicans failed to advance.
Heat One - Sashalee Forbes (Jca) fifth in 23.09, anthonique Strachan (Bah) eighth in 23.21.
Heat Two - Shaunae Miller (Bah), first in 22.49, Simone Facey (Jca) fourth in 23.01, Semoy Hackett (TT) seventh in 23.54.
Heat Three - Tynia Gaither (Bah), fourth in 22.85, Jodean Williams (Jca) seventh in 23.32.
The two Bahamians advance to the final....
In the first round of today's decathlon, Lindon Victor (Grenada) clocked 10.83 for 899 points in the men's 100m. Kurt Felix (Grenada) clocked 11.08 for 843 points.
In the second round, the long jump, Felix had two no-jumps in the long jump. That puts him in a crisis position, with only one jump left, and a danger of not registering any points. Saves hismelf with his final jump...7.46 for 925 points. Victor jumped 6.98 for 809 points.
After two events, Felix is in 14th place with 1768 points, while Victor is 21st with 1708 points.
Third round...Victor threw 15.14 in his first throw in the shot putt. In his second attempt, he threw 15.86. His third and final effort was no improvement. However, his 15.86 was the best of the entire group. He got 843 points for that.
Felix threw 14.83 in his opening effort. He followed that up with 15.01 with his second throw. His final attempt was a no-throw. He got 790 points from the shot putt.
After three events, Felix was ninth with 2558 points, followed by Victor in tenth on 2551 points.

Kellion Knibb (Jca) had two no-throws, and then threw 56.74 in her final throw. I can't see her advancing.
Tarasue Barnett (Jca) had three no-throws.
Shadae Lawrence (Jca) three 59.25, but also failed to advance.
Men's high jump qualifying
Donald Thomas (Bah) cleared 2.22, but went out at 2.26.
In reply to mikesiva
His mom said it's the breadfruit dat she cooks that makes him run so fast.
In reply to mikesiva
Agreed
In reply to sgtdjones
Why do we Caribbean folks need to disclose everything. Let the Yankees figure it out. The price of yam, saltfish and avocado is already trending up, now breadfruit price will skyrocket.
Can you imagine if he wins a gold medal?
Decathlon round four the high jump
Victor came in at 1.93 and cleared it. He goes clear at 1.99 on the first attempt. He failed to clear 2.02...794 points.
Felix came in at 1.96 and cleared it. He then cleared 2.02. He easily cleared 2.05. He cleared 2.08 at the third attempt. He failed at 211...878 points.
One of the high jump bars has stopped working. It took them a long time to fix it.
After four rounds, Felix has 3436 points for fifth place, while Victor has 3345 points for 12th place.

Second semi
1) Christine Manning (US) 12.71
2) Alina Talay (Hun) 12.85
3) Yanique Thompson (Jca) 12.88
Danielle Williams (Jca) fifth after hitting a string of hurdles and run out of it...13.14
In reply to mikesiva
There goes our medal chance.
In reply to dale_staple
The theory of all the slow times from the main athletes is "track tiredness" and burn out from last year up until now. The grind from the Olympics and grueling 2017 season took a heavy toll on many of the athletes, apparently.
In reply to DukeStreet
This weather is not conducive to fast times.
In reply to dale_staple
2007 was the last time we only won one gold medal at a World Champs...could it happen in 2017?
Semi three
1) Dawn Harper-Nelson (US) 12.63
2) Pamela Dutkiewicz (Germ) 12.71
3) Kendra Harrison (US) 12.86
Rushelle Burton fifth in 12.94, Charlton (Bah) sixth in 2.95.
Harrison with a shocking start....
No Jamaicans advance to the final.
I officially blame Trump. The US has retaken control of the track.
In reply to Tryangle
Fault lies with JADCO getting sorted out!
In reply to NineMiles
Ha, leff me out of that one. But that reminds me, how have the Kenyans and Ethiopians fared?
In reply to dale_staple
Yeah, weather is a factor. Also track conditions, wet track, etc. I said athlete-tiredness because there have been quite a few upsets in World's so far. People that were supposed to win have been beaten by others, etc. So, yeah, we have to weigh ALL the factors.
In reply to mikesiva
You must be ready to run. No excuses for Williams.
The younger ones,Burton,Thompson and Simmonds, need more work.( Williams is 25.)
Just don't understand Williams performance. Another disappointment.
Where are the relays?
Damn!!
JADCO need to go sort out GB and USA then. How much test Mo Farah and Oguboogoo (or whatever the Naija chick name) miss again? Lost count.
In reply to Tryangle
Not quite. Not on the men's side at least.
No men's 200, 110h, 400, 400h
In reply to JahJah
Ohorogu? Thought she got suspended some time ago then returned to the track?
Yohan Blake seems a lot calmer these days and not as bulky as he used to be!
In reply to NineMiles
Didn't Blake find the Lord or something? Made him drop the whole "Beast" persona and everything?
In reply to Tryangle
Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!
Same Yohan Blake who had been out injured for nearly half a decade.
In reply to Tryangle
You stop show interest in Tyrone?
Decathlon fifth round 400m
Felix 49.09 for 857 points...not his strongest event.
Victor 49.30 for 847 points.
After five rounds, Felix is down to sixth with 4293 points, while Victor is down to 15th with 4192 points.
Aisha Praught (Jca) DQ'ed in the women's steeplechase final...I'm not sure why.
One of uno please don'tmake Schippers win, please.
In reply to archangel
Why ??
Was hoping for a Talou win...but it's silver again!
In reply to mikesiva
Schipers from Talou followed by Shaune Miller. I expect Miller wont try the double again.
In reply to archangel
1) Dafne Schippers (Neth) 22.05
2) MJ Ta Lou (CIV) 22.08
3) Shaunae Miller (Bah) 22.15
3) Dina Asher-Smith (GB) 22.22
Yes. Congrats Dutchie.
In reply to RoyalDad
The younger ones,Burton,Thompson and Simmonds, need more work.( Williams is 25.)
Just don't understand Williams performance. Another disappointment.
Disappointed too, but no need for despair. In the next 3-4 years we will take over the women's 100mh just like how Mc Leod has taken over the men's 110mh.
Americans coming 1,2 in steeplechase, signs and wonders.
In reply to Headley
The US have a factory for female hurdlers and we just cant match. Look at Manning! Only Sally can stop them from going 123. However as you say, we have some young very good talent in the works and hopefully Ja will reap the rewards come 3-4 years. This has been a tough one, but strange things have happened this WC. Americans winning the steeplechase?
Unbelievable!!
In reply to Headley
Couple of things.
Everything works in cycles.
Currently, there is a great crop of 400m male runners from Jamaica. They can only get better and hopefully pull together something memorable in time for 2020.
Currently, the trio of Parchment, McLeod, Levy are very strong in the 110m hurdles with teenager De'Jour Russell promising strong future returns.
The cupboard is not exactly full for the 100m sprints for both mens and womens BUT as we all know, great sprinters from Jamaica can pop up at any given time so patience is needed.
In reply to NineMiles
You remember what happened the last time she won.
It was like the greatest thing since slice bread.
In reply to NineMiles
Feel sorry for Ta Lou but Schippers worked hard for it.
In reply to DukeStreet
Agree with your view except for the 400m men.
We are excited about Nathan Allen, Gaye, Bloomfield and Javon Francis but until 2 or 3 or all,of,them can break 44 fairly regularly, then I will reserve my enthusiasm.
This year's Champs brought out some excellent hurdlers especially on the girls side so hopefully one or two can come through. I have seen very good female. hurdlers fall away after Champs.
Decathlon 110m hurdles round six
Felix 14.69 for 889 points.
Victor 15.36 for 807 points.
Decathlon discus round seven
Felix's best throw was 45.39 for 775 points.
Victor disastrously had no mark.
Felix is in sixth place on 5957 points, while Victor slipped to 24th with 4999 points.
Victor took no further part in the decathlon.
Decathlon pole vault round eight
Felix cleared 4.50 for 760 points. After eight rounds he slipped to seventh with 6717 points.
Decathlon javelin round nine
Felix threw 64.64 for 808 points. He is back up to sixth with 7525 points.

Rusheen......waiting for the 43 sec man.Ja will not make final??? Another disappointment.
In reply to mikesiva
And took Jamaica's 4x400m with him.
In reply to RoyalDad
Management to blame. They pick the team like Jamaica is so big so strong.
That 43.9 man, how many times he does that?
In reply to RoyalDad
they need to come to the realization that that was a fluke and an anomaly. he is more high 45 low 46. he can only live off that 43 for so long. well i think thats it for him. assuming Javon and Bloomfield arent injured, next time we wont have that problem.
Rucks-een McDonald. If ah laff ah...
In reply to archangel
I believe you're right on that. We just don't have the depth to take the chance we took, especially with Francis and Bloomfield injured. Lawks man, let Allen or Gaye run one leg so we're sure to be in the final.Afterall they will have a full days rest until tomorrow.

The unfortunate thing is that he made the team based off of his trial run.I could be wrong.
In reply to RoyalDad
no you are right.. he was 4th at trials.. no Francis, Bloomfield or Dunkley. BUt Sanjoy Givans was 3rd in the 100 and after running 10.3 here, you notice no one in their right mind even thinks of putting him on the 4 * 1 ?. Rusheen is too unpredictable. if he must run, let him start it so that if we get 46 rusheen, (much more likely than 43.9), the others know to run out of their skin.
speaking of the 4 x 1, i am thinking Tracey to Forte to Blake to Bolt. what says ye?
In reply to DukeStreet
Currently, the trio of Parchment, McLeod, Levy are very strong in the 110m hurdles with teenager De'Jour Russell promising strong future returns.
The cupboard is not exactly full for the 100m sprints for both mens and womens BUT as we all know, great sprinters from Jamaica can pop up at any given time so patience is needed.
Agreed. The sprint factory is already in high production mode. The 15 - 17 year old group is amazing. You've seen Davis, Anderson, Brown (females) and Watson (male) at U18 WC recently. Lots more in the pipeline including Sachin Dennis (15), Dejour Russell (17) and Chris Taylor (18 in Oct). You will hear about the 13 yr old girl, high jumping 1.79m. Will discuss in 2018.
In reply to rudebway
Blake may not be available. It may be Michael Campbell.
BTW since Rusheen did the 43.93 in 2015 I believe he has gone sub 45 only once.
In reply to Headley
Rusheen shot his load then. If Blake not available I would do Rasheed Dwyer on the bend..Campbell looked very uncomfort on the curve
Never seen a hurdler, male or female, with as smooth a technique as Sally Pearson.
Oh yes Sweet sweet Sally. Back for dat throne.
Men's 5000m
Kemoy Campbell of Jamaica 10th in 13.39.74.
Farah long golden run come to an end too.
I seeing another possible medal in this Championships for T&T. This time in the women 4x100 relay
Decathlon 1500m final round
Felix gets 702 points after clocking 4.32.36.
Finished in seventh place with 8227 points.
In reply to mikesiva
Elaine not running the relay? did Ato misspeak on TV o something happen?
No Elaine Thompson.
Norovirus or is that Achillez injury more serious than we were led to believe?
In reply to mikesiva
there must be a story here that is waiting to come out . wtf. after the hundred she said she was looking forward to the relay.. we wont even get a broze unless someone drop the baton. USA daylight Germany , Trinidad/Great Britain
Good silver by team GB, only bronze fi JA!
In reply to rudebway
There is a story.
Sketchy but heard that Franno told male 400m runners not to run in the heats.
A line through that would point to problems in the camp.
Unconfirmed.
Thanks to an ill and missing ET. Count yu blessings African boy
Women's sprint relays
US 41.82
Britain 42.12
Jamaica 42.19
Trinidad sixth in 42.62.
In reply to mikesiva
That is good depth by JAM to get a bronze with that side.
In reply to archangel
Nathon Allen and Gaye are not with MVP ..or am i missing soemthing.? are we back to the days of if Shelly dont bust the tape she nah run?
In reply to rudebway
I know they are not.
Just saying he may have had a hand in it although the management done acknowledge that they are to blame.
No question America is now the dominant sprint country, winning the sprints and now the relays, the tables have turned in that element of the sport. No need to look at the medal table, they have always dominated the entire medals
Can't say I am surprised.
Tough.
In reply to archangel
Bolt didn't come prepared.
In reply to problemjay
Soft domination when they can't win EITHER of the 200m races, the men's 4x1 relay nor the men's 400m.
In reply to JahJah
Long before the meet I said he would not report for the start.
But then he turned up in camp for the 100 so I said, he must be in shape or else he would not turn up.
Definitely undercooked but the worse possible ending.
In reply to archangel
I think Bolt is going to chill for a bit and come back. I know he wants to wild out and enjoy life but for some reason I don't see him walking away from such an ending. Then again, maybe he won't bother.
In reply to JahJah
Jamaica was not winnig all sprint events when they were dominating the sprints. So keep that in mind as you press further
In reply to problemjay
Jamaica was wining the 100s and 200s and the men's 4 by 1 with regularity. The only think USA did differently was win the 100s. Not the men's 4 by 1. No ground made on the 200s. And they wouldn't have won any of those with everyone, including De Grasse healthy.
Think on that. Jamaica dominated the short sprints for the decade. Not sprinting over all.
Keep pumping up the nation of well over 300 mil as if they did anything special at these games. You speak like they swept everyone aside. But Omar, Sally, Daphne, that 200m dude from where again, Wade, GB relay team and dem had other ideas.
In reply to archangel
Reading that Ato throwing word .

Think on that.
Winning the 100's is a big difference. That is the marquee sprint event and the Americans won it ..and you don't know what will happen if who was there or not, 'ifs' do not count so lets not talk about what would have happen if another athlete was there...also you said not the 4x1? The Americans won the Women 4X1 today. What else you want to cry about?
In reply to problemjay
Enjoy winning the 100s this time around. Pray that ET will be vomiting 10 times before the next final and De Grasse is absent again.
Stop shifting the goal posts from dominant to marquee
In reply to JahJah
nah... i think he wants to enjoy life..i think he is done.. the new breed will just have to focus. Odean Skeen was really looking good until he pulled up at trials. look at the bright side..even with the worse WC showing in a long time, we still end up with 4 or 5 medals. i was hoping for at least 7, the same number of Bajans on the West Indies team.
on to other matters, i am really interested in what the deal is with Elaine... the story needs to come out.
In reply to JahJah
wasnt that 1976?
In reply to rudebway
A statement on ET's ordeal for sure.
Yeah, I know Usain wants to enjoy life. It's too bad he just rolled out of bed for this champs for people jaydee and Ato to run their mouth on him, but we know him huh cater.
In reply to rudebway
Yeah, but like Chrissy is Anyone but England, the dude is anybody but Jamaica. He's been pining for USA to beat Jamaica since 2008. He finally gets his wish a decade later. He bought a life time supply of tissues to commemorate the occasion too.
In reply to JahJah
didnt hear any thing strange from Ato on NBC. must have missed it. he said a long reign at the top comes to a frustrating end.
In reply to rudebway
Dem saying he seh something like 'Bolt didn't go out with bang but instead with a whimper' or something suh.
Ah nuh true?
In reply to rudebway
well you know some Jamaicans don't want to hear anything negative about Bolt so taking shots at Ato. its comical
everyone can see Bolt DID NOT go out with a bang and that is what Ato is saying
In reply to rudebway
Reading now that ET was quarantined.
Everything went wrong for JAM at these diseased champs, but yu know we is resilient people. Made of stern stuff. We coming right back. Mek all di badmind billy dem laff.
In reply to JahJah
this WC is bizzare. i know that Makwala was quarantined earlier in the week, and so was the Trini MichellE Ahye. They didnt let her run her heats in the 200. But that was like Tuesday. I thought the Noravirus thing was under control. i am hoping that it is actually the noravirus issue, as opposed to a Steve Francis power play. The noravirus and the vomiting would explain the 100 finals.
Definitely undercooked but the worse possible ending. In reply to archangel
Actually...i think that Bolt showed the world, that after all is said and done...he is human after all.
He spoiled us for a decade with seemingly effortless performances above and beyond. Today...Bolt reminded everyone he was only human....giving it one last go...like a good soldier......
Take a bow Usain.
Bolt has lost his legend status. Pathetic performance.
Maybe all those years he was really juiced up!
In reply to nitro
U really believe Bolt legacy tainted by this world championship performance
In reply to Jabari18
Of course.
In reply to Jabari18
He's looking for a fight.
In reply to mikesiva
Tyrone still pissed that athletes are making finals that should have been banned for doping, it seems.
In reply to nitro
So Ali isn't a legend then. Boy, you are one special kind of stupid.
In reply to problemjay
Not so fast Jay.
Gatlin is over the hill come 3 years,so too Mikey Rogers.
Young Coleman will have to prove himself a worthy replacement for both.
Who else is there for US.
Bowie is 27.Three years from now who knows.
They have all these youngsters in the pipeline but .....
Ja fearing no better although.....
Blake is not as old.One more Worlds and Olympics.
Skeen looks like he will move to the next level if he can stay healthy,
Givans banging on the door.
Lets see if the youngsters Chambers,Ellis can transition to next level 2-3 years from now.
Elaine is 25,so she will be here for some time left.
Sasha Lee could develop more.
C Williams needs to develop some top end as she fades after 50 meters. Very fast though.
J Smith if she was not DQd at trials,we would have had a better eval on her.
And not least, young Kenona Davis. Handled correctly, could surprise in 3 years..
Medal table with one more day to go...
1 United States 9 10 8 27
2 Kenya 3 1 4 8
3 Poland 2 2 3 7
4 Ethiopia 2 2 0 4
4 Great Britain and N.I. 2 2 0 4
6 South Africa 2 1 2 5
7 France 2 0 1 3
8 Authorised Neutral Athlete 1 3 0 4
9 Germany 1 2 2 5
10 China 1 2 1 4
and so sign of Jamaica in the top 10
In reply to RoyalDad

Travis Bromell..although that remains to be seen

What the hell has happened with Bailey-Cole. Just when the guy was running sub 10s on a regular...
In reply to NineMiles
Lap it up. Allyuh was never in ANY picture for the last 10 plus years. Keep beating dem gums. We noting it.
In reply to JahJah
Thought you said you know athletics? Let me educate you;
GB Medal placings over the past 10 years;
2007 - 10th
2009 - 8th
2011 - 6th
2013 - 7th
2015 - 4th
So not sure where you are getting "never in ANY picture for the last 10 years"!
Quite a good picture I'd say!
In reply to NineMiles
I believe we need to be honest with ourselves and admit there is a definite trend occurring. Great Britain is slowly exerting herself as the dominant force in track and field. Disgruntled or forgotten athletes have been jumping ship from their home countries and GB has been doing a great job of scooping them up with glee.
Sure Jamaica is a powerhouse and will always stand strong and deliver top athletes. Sure USA will keep churning out the big names and always be in the top 3 but we have to keep an eye on the British and what they have been doing for the past 5 - 10 years.
In reply to DukeStreet
Word!
In reply to NineMiles
Can't see unnu when unnu way behind we
Keshorn Walcott (TT) finished seventh in the men's javelin with a throw of 84.48.
In reply to JahJah
Has been injury prone.
Terrible starter also.Have to wait and see what he brings next year.
In reply to DukeStreet
Off one relay " opportune moment"?
Too soon for that. MO and Christine has been their only "Save the Queen" anthem the past 2 decades.
That youngster in the women 200 looks good,( Asher- I think ).
Prescod surprised in the 100,but they had a bunch of guys knocking at the door and didn't develop.
In reply to RoyalDad
maybe KBC should take a page out of Ristiania's book and go for a change in coaching to help him over the hump. Or maybe he will get a bit more attention now that Bolt is gone? i dont know. As you mention, horrible start, and his drive phase is not good either. He will also need a good madda woman in st thomas to deal with the chick v, zika and other ailments.
T&T winning GOLD in the men's 4x400 relay
I hope

In reply to Headley
Hold on. It take 4 countries combined, including a transplanted yardie to squeak past little Jamaica?
In reply to imusic
See DukeStreet above.
In reply to rudebway
Not touching dat one boss.
Madda woman back in the day was rampant.
Yu know any?
In reply to imusic
Actually it's more than 4 countries...it's SIX; Nigeria, Jamaica, Trinidad, Britain, Iran and Morocco.
And yes, dats what makes Great Britain Great!!
So wha the Jamaicans in here crying about today? Dat America, Great Britain and several countries beating up their top athletes in Track and Field?
In reply to problemjay
You summed it up well! Mikesiva and ZsaZsa stop posting!
Bronze medal for Ghazal of Syria in the high jump.... well done!
Favourite Mutaz Barshim of Qatar wins Gold
I see the anti Jamaicans are out in force. Nothing pleases them more than to see Jamaica not doing as well as they did previously. They will even celebrate the success of the USA to achieve that objective.
While this is Jamaica worst world championships medal haul since 2003 the fact remains that a small island of three million still won four medals including a gold. How did Trinidad do?
And Britain a country of 60 million could only win four medals, the same as Jamaica. Farah now retiring, you have no more individual medal winners.
Mclaughlin pull up. Jamaica has been very unlucky in this cold English weather.
Thankfully Tokyo is much warmer now as my son keeps telling me.
In reply to mikesiva
Blah blah blah!
Peeps won't go on like this if fackers like you and ZsaZsa could just humble yourselves a bit instead of the constant chest beating!
Tek yu licks and chill Mikey!
In reply to mikesiva
Jamaica out of the 4x400... this cool British weather killing your athletes Mikey or is it something else?
Silver for Team GB in the 4x400
In reply to mikesiva
well I guess everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. strange line up order and then she pulls up
In reply to rudebway
What happen to McPherson?
In reply to RoyalDad
McPherson was dropped fro the team, which Is why I call it a strange lineup. it was Chrisan Gordon to Aneisha McLaughlin (who pulled up) to Sherika to Novelene. That lineup would not work for gold. to make it worse McLauglin pulled up. .
The athlete who replace McPhearson.
This caps off a disastrous meet for yard.
These things happen. I look back at the many predictions but restrained myself to join in. As I have been telling people, no medal is certain but still this disappointing.
Events that I expected better:
A medal in the 100 m hurdles for women.
A medal in the 200m for men
A medal in 4x100 and 4x400 for men
A medal in the 4x400 for women
5 medals short.
In reply to archangel
if this continues, we will have to lower our standards and expectations and compete against Britain, and the other Caribbean countries that combined cant get two medals.
In reply to archangel
there has to be something with the coaching team management brain farts in the 400m relay selections...
In reply to mikesiva
Another excuse....JA never had this problem in colder Glasgow three years ago! It's something else I tell ya!
No JA in the Men 4x400m ??
In reply to mikesiva
Come again??
In reply to RoyalDad
I read on another site that it was said she had an altercation with Sherika.... and was injured.
T&T gold in the 4 x 400 men's relay
Magnificent !!!!!!!
In reply to Acid
Well done to the Trinidad team!
Trinidad 2.58.13!
T&T win gold in the men 4x400.... congrats!
USA silver and Bronze for Team GB
In reply to mikesiva
T & T wins the gold in the 4 X 4. Trinidad dude GOrdon ran down Kerley. Nicely timed run by Gordon
In reply to rudebway
Yea,just heard that report also.
I felt Trinidad and Tobago would medal and it would depend on Cedenio what metal they got. My expectation tempered a bit because I felt Cedenio has been disappointing. He put it out for the relay though.
In reply to rudebway
Big up Trinidad!!!
This one will stick just like 2 years ago when Novlene crushed McCrory at the wire.
In reply to mikesiva, Ninemiles, rudebway
What a run by Gordon in the anchor leg
The man on the 2nd leg put in a good shift but Gordon was Michael Johnson-esque
Jereem Richards won that for T&T
He is truly special
In reply to RoyalDad
This one will stick just like 2 years ago when Novlene crushed McCrory at the wire.
yup... I love it. Kerley had a long college season, and is simply too young for this. The USA doesn't have Merritt anchoring again. Merritt actually knows what he is doing. The Trini anchor stalked Kerley and timed his move perfectly. Cedenio ran a great leg too.
2017 Final medal table:
1 United States 10 11 9 30
2 Kenya 5 2 4 11
3 South Africa 3 1 2 6
4 France 3 0 2 5
5 China 2 3 2 7
6 Great Britain and N.I. 2 3 1 6
6 Ethiopia 2 3 0 5
8 Poland 2 2 4 8
9 Authorised Neutral Athlete 1 5 0 6
10 Germany 1 2 2 5
Well, first page anyway!
Congrats TnT. This was a long time coming. Had been knocking on the door for some time now. USA denied yet again.
How the fack they go hold this championship in the desert heat of Qatar in two years time??
Come to think of it, JA wouldn't be able to complain about the cold, right Mikey??
.

Only 6 medals? Y'all Brits need to up your game.
Barely gt more han Jamaica who had an atrocious games while you guy did so well.
In reply to rudebway
Yes Cedenio was strong in his leg, also the 2nd.
Kerley had a long season cause even Allen dusted him in the final.
Will the Trinidad govt give all the runners $250,000 like they did Thompson and co. when he finished 2nd to Bolt in Olympics? Or was it rumor!!

Big up Trinidad and Tobago! Leh mi help all all yuh. Link to 4x400m final
Walcott (javelin gold 2012) got a big house in an area where big ups and diplomats reside, so $0.25m per man should not be too much.
Great after race interview..
And I think Headley could be on to something, one of the guys did mention "to do it around independence" or something like that..
They know the gifts are coming, and they will be well deserved!!
