I remember the days when cricinfo used to be one of the easiest websites to navigate around.

Now, I need to do a course in code breaking just to be able to find the scorecard of a match in progress. lol

Aye I understand it's to make the mobile people happy but why do I have to scroll down when I click on the live tab ?
Why when I click on an article to read do I have a goddamn video playing with a summary of the story.
Why is the right-hand side of the live window now occupied with related stories ? Feels like the commentary is totally squished in.

But many websites are done so that they run well on PC web browsers and switch to mobile compatible browsers for mobile phones or tablets.

Cricinfo is a clusterfcuk to navigate even on mobile devices. lol

I always thought if we dropped Duminy maybe 6/7 years ago and let him sit down with a good batting coach , skip the garbage t20 stuff and really work out his glitches he could have become a top top player.I really thought we had another Gibbs on our hands when he arrived on the international scene.

He just felt like the unfinished product , which was disappointing considering the magnificent start he had to his test career.

In reply to djdrastic

And in these overcast conditions.

Rabada gets his third wicket. Maharaj gets his first wicket. Stokes gets his century!

England 353 all out.

Stokes 112.

Morkel and rabada get three wickets each.

Duminy was supposed to be a batting all rounder but he disappointed on both fronts. Morris has replaced him as a bowling all rounder but he is looking like the weak link in this attack.

NineMiles 2017-07-28 10:21:33

Three SIXES in a row by Stokes to get his ton...dats the way to bat with the last man in. Not selfishly rotating the strike to get a Not Out! razz

In reply to Narper

Well, both will never be considered great batsmen! razz

Narper 2017-07-28 11:22:49

In reply to NineMiles

The visit turned his career - and his stance - around. Palmer argues that a more open stance allows batsmen to play straighter, increase their scoring opportunities and improve their balance. It is, he insists, infinitely preferable to the sideways on stance that can often result in bat movement being inhibited by the presence of the front leg.

It has certainly worked for Cook. He scored two centuries in his next four Tests and, while this innings was the first time he had recorded a score of 50 or more in the first innings of his last 12 Tests, there have been pretty regular second-innings runs.

Shiv is a visionary....his stance is one for the future....that is greatness big grin big grin big grin

8.4
Roland-Jones to Elgar, out Caught by Bairstow!! Now the edge. A thick edge, a loud edge. And Roland-Jones has his maiden Test wicket. But Elgar decides to make him wait, goes upstairs with the review. In the process robs his side of a review. A geniune nick this, as Roland-Jones persists with the line tailing away just outside off, a length Elgar has to flirt with. He does, with an angled bat, half drawing it back in as well. An outside kiss and the UltraEdge has the confirmation for us. A long healthy heartbeat.

Elgar c Bairstow b Roland-Jones 8(33) [4s-1]

10.3
Roland-Jones to Heino Kuhn, out Lbw!! He is gone. Full and tailing in late, Heino Kuhn plays across the line and misses it. The ball hits him on the back leg, low as well. The ball seems to be crashing into the sticks for sure. The ump had no hesitation in raising his finger and send the batsman to the pavilion. They checked for the front foot and that was close but fine. South Africa into early trouble.

Heino Kuhn lbw b Roland-Jones 15(24) [4s-3]

Narper 2017-07-28 11:40:09

Broad to Rabada, out Bowled!! Broad comes, Broad gets wicket. Excellent bowling change. Rabada played inside the line to a perfect length ball there. With Broad coming round the wicket, it's tough to judge the angle sometimes. So Rabada cannot be faulted there. The ball just about straightened a bit and hit the top of off, the place everywhere bowler wants to be.

8.2
Morne Morkel to Cook, out Bowled!! Had to play at it. Did so but could not get behind it and the top of off is found. That's too good to be sorted out. Angling in full and deviating off the deck just as the batsman opens a bit to force back. Could not get himself behind that and Morkel has provided the breakthrough.

Cook b Morne Morkel 7(29) [4s-1]

Narper 2017-07-29 09:18:59

Gawn

Jennings reviews a caught behind. Now Rabada is from over the wicket to the left-hander, gets this length ball to nip back in.

Not out

mikesiva 2017-07-29 11:21:03

In reply to djdrastic

I'm not convinced by de Kock at four, especially when South Africa bat second, and the wicketkeeper is tired from a long innings in the field, and you know Kuhn is not going to last long. Surely, du Plessis should lead from the front, and bat at four. Let de Kock bat at five.

djdrastic 2017-07-29 11:55:18

In reply to mikesiva

Yeah I agree with you on that , he's batting one position too high in that lineup though it could be the selectors hinting that he will have to make that position his own come the retirements of the seniors after the WC.

robbo 2017-07-29 13:32:30

As well as England batted they should never have scored 350 odd in the first innings.... that was a poor bowling performance in pretty helpful overhead and pitch conditions.... Rabada is not at his best... apart from one spell Morkel was poor and Morris is not test standard.... obviously they where hindered greatly by Philanders fitness issues but in theory there is more than enough talent in that attack to have bowled England for way less than 300..... game gone now !
