Sad situ. However it doesn't stop some of the folks here to heap insults on India. Little do they know the prevalence of depravity. It exists everywhere. And there are cases which are reported and most that goes unnoticed. We pray for this little girl's future, and for all the other girls, boys, women and men who are victims of sexual exploitation.

The difference between India and most of the civilized world is, Indian men did this stuff with impunity. It is now starting to change because of the publicity and women fighting back.

India is backwards in many ways. While they are not the top of the rape stats, they attract a lot of attention because of their overly religious perception.
Furthermore people are programmed to see a bigger problem with rape in india than say dropping bombs on and killing people.

Bravs, you know I did lots of volunteer social work in India for decades and though I am not able to continue with the same pace as when I was younger and stronger, I still try.
You are correct regarding stats: For every reported case of rape in India, 10 goes unreported and this is true for not only India but many other sub continent states like Pakistan and Bangladesh and this is so because of certain aspects of bad culture where the victim is blamed for her rape.
The unique thing about India though, is the power structure and the elite turn a blind eye to it as many rapes victims are poor or "low caste" while the rapists are "Brahmin" or high caste."
The BJP, with their violent radical Hindtva belief system punishes poor Hindu women and families who try to buck the system while many others claim they give incentives and religious permission for their men folk to rape women of other faiths- including Dalits, other Hindus whp do not subscribe to their evil, Muslims and Christians.
It is changing but not fast enough for all of us.

You are probably correct regarding the unreported rapes. Some people on here take this as an attack on India, it is not, it's merely speaking the truth.
This is not just about rape, it's about a culture that does not value women. We know this from the brazeness in which some of these rapes are committed.
