The selectors have a tough choice to make
You fergats Tino?
IMO K Hope for the 1st Test, should be the person to sit, the WI need to play four bowlers, however the lack of form from Kraigg B is concerning.
In reply to dayne
When your so called number one test opener scores at a strke rate of 25 against a school boy attack, its more than reason to be concerned. If i were young Hetmeyer, i would puke watching and having to sit and watch that crap.
In reply to TheTrail
Put all the names in a bag and pull out 11 ... how is dat a tough choice?
Alyuh tekkin dis dungheap team too serious
In reply to NYCGURU
Many batsmen in the past have had difficulties adjusting to English conditions. Hopefully Kraigg figure it out fast because he is so vital to this team.
In reply to dayne
Conditions have nothing to do with his struggles. We know he is not a dasher even at his best. This is a second string attack and he is treating them as if they are world beaters poking around and blocking until he gets out. What can we expect against James Anderson next week. Hope he sort out his game soon.
when in doubt, check passport
In reply to TheTrail
When in doubt, drop Blackwood.
In reply to Drapsey
Dem would have fe select him before dem can drop him. It's easier than you think.
In reply to NYCGURU
so just drop the most consistent batsman because he has not gotton accustomed to the conditions quick enough. please tell us who have adopted to away tous like KB. THE GAME IS NOT FOR THE SWIFT.....
In reply to seaegg99
Exactly where did i say to drop him? Please highlight.
Gabriel is not 100%. why chance him in a five day game?
Rest him so he can recuperate better, and play Bishoo in his stead.
I would play
Brathwaite
Powell
K Hope
S Hope
Chase
Blackwood
Dowrich
Holder
Bishoo
Roach
Joseph.
When last paint run some runs? He have been spiting on himself a long time now. He is a passport pick right now
In reply to pariaman
Agreed.
But he is due a good score.
Besides he is the most seasoned batsman in this team.
The best we can hope for from paint is runs at a slow rate on a batting friendly
environment
Otherwise he is useless
He will never suceed in England
In reply to Drapsey
When in doubt, drop Blackwood.
That idea is not going to happen.
Who knows, the selectors are igrunt enough to drop Kemar and play Bishoo. Don't fuget, it was Kemar who took out Cook twice with noBalls...
In reply to pariaman
Does that may sense to you, he is not my type of player, but he will make runs in the test.
In reply to TheTrail
My idea is based on the fact that all viable forecasting systems are based on history.
In reply to NYCGURU
Kraigg played against Anderson and Broad before. He should know by now how they bowl.
Kraigg have an average of 31.00 from 6 innings with a century to count for his work against an attack of Broad and Anderson.
K C Brathwaite c Root b Anderson..116....252..........14... 0.....46.03
In reply to TheTrail
Just wait one test. After the first test all choices will be easy.
Hety will play in the third test.
In reply to TheTrail
Any opener would have a hard time in England against their bowling attack.
Lets hope Kraigg can bat time, see off the new ball and make some good scores.
It will be tough.
In reply to Headley
The last batsman WI had who could play the swinging ball was Shiv. A massacre is on the horizon for us in England. If we bat first in any test, only rain will extend the match beyond 3 days.
In reply to TheTrail
these guys just spewing emotional nonsense and 3 bad innings they ready to call for a head, all the guys have performed at some point or another Kraigg has a 50 on tour already, hi challeneg will always to survive 50+ balls due his scoring rate, i have no doubt he will come to the party, as for the other they ahve all presented a wonderful problem, i would not play bishoo at all
roach gabriel, joseph, holder would always be my attack with Kraigg and chase as spin options I see Bishoo as surplus to requirements unless the wicket is a pure turner
Typical WI fan. They always seem to pry out the negative out of whatever good the team appear to achieve.
Rather than wish the guys luck based on their performances, which were pretty damn good by the way, they will try to analyze and parse everything else to criticize.
The guys scored almost 5 centuries in both innings and a few healthy other scores; Had they folded in 2 days we would be hearing how useless and mediocre they were. 427 for 3 and 327 for 6 declared on both counts should count for something.
According to Walco
Let us give these guys our support because at the end of the day, that is all we got. The alternative is no cricket.
In reply to Walco
Yet men want to spend time in serious discussion about whether we should play the only hope we have to blunt the English attach and get to day 4 or 5. Hopefully these forkers understand ridicule.
i dont think Gabriel can be picked at this stage.. So the team against Derby but Cummins for Gabriel. Bishoo will play tests 2 and 3, possibly for a batter.
In reply to embsallie
Powell
K Hope
S Hope
Chase
Blackwood
Dowrich
Holder
Bishoo
Roach
Joseph.
If the tour matches are any indication, runs will only come from Blackwood, Chase, SHope and, to a lesser extent, Holder. Somehow we're expecting our openers to score a ton of runs against superior bowling, when they averaged about 15 against 2nd string seamers.
In reply to SirGarny
powell must be average more than that... he scored almost 200 in this last game
