suppose Native Americans marched down a major capital dressed in native battle gear with signs saying " We want back our country," what would be the reaction?

It can be said that successive administrations have kept Native Americans intoxicated, unemployed, under educated and "encamped" on token reservations for long enough that they can never recover their place (and by 'place' I don't just mean lands). (same for West African descendants in USA)

Sad.

Side note for sipping: Native Americans don't see land as having ownership period. Not by them, not by others. The doctrine - the guiding principle is that the land is communal, to be shared without ownership was immediately exploited by gunpowder and deeds.

The "great" Nation, built upon stains against humanity. The path forward is long and not without complexity. Trumps polemic against the fight on hate yesterday places yet another fork in the road.
