I am with you But what can you do???

Inity 2017-09-08 11:23:55

Fair request when he isn't scoring any runs. A big score from him and all can be forgiven.

his time is up, he shouldn't come back as a keeper

I know it's not possible to drop him mid match, but certainly he shouldn't be playing in another test until he proves he's a reliable keeper.

Unlike some here, I think a keeper's main job in Test cricket is to hold forking catches. If he scores runs fine, but make sure he holds catches. In a tight game like this, that miss is simple unacceptable!!!

Except that they weren't even chances.

Dead certs, more like.

Verstehen 2017-09-08 11:31:05

This is a simple game: You throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball. You got it?!
lol

Exactly. This is embarassing! Dowrich been failing in the regional format so much so that people questioned his selection into the international squad and he has since done ZERO with both bat and gloves on the international front and people still making excuses?? I wonder why some players can seem to get away with absolutely anything and people on here "feel for them" and other players get crucified.

jacksprat 2017-09-08 11:39:19

I like Dowrich as a batsman but he has reoeatly failed so far. It can't be allowed to fail with the gloves as well.

I guess he offers "intangibles" !!!

Randin was ostensibly dropped because he failed with the bat. What gives?

If Norwich were making runs his keeping would improved. The fact that he has not been contributing to the team with his bat must have played on his mind causing lapses in concentration when he is keeping.

I have never come across a good batsman who was not a good fielder.

A good example of a batsman whose fielding improved as his batting improved is Lil Bravo.

Early in his career, when Bravo's batting was below what as expected of him, he was one of the most butter-fingered on the WI team. However, as he started to bat up to his potential, he became one of the better fielder on the team.
