Am i the only one who thinks Holder missed

DIEHARD 2017-09-08 11:48:46

A trick by persisting with seam when the weather conditions changed?

Halliwell 2017-09-08 11:50:31

In reply to DIEHARD

Weather changed but ball was still moving
50 overs ish
Can't see where Bishoo would have bowled

Starzz 2017-09-08 11:52:05

Then why pick him? Why keep picking the man if he's not going to bowl?

methodic 2017-09-08 11:54:55

In reply to Starzz

he should bowl at least a few, cannot be good for his confidence

Andy99 2017-09-08 11:56:19

In reply to DIEHARD

Gotta give the specialist bowlers an over or two, just try him, u pick him to bowl so bowl him.
Whats 1 or 2 overs gonna costs?

DIEHARD 2017-09-08 11:56:26

In reply to methodic

Das what i was thinking..once the batsmen started to look a lil bit more comfortable..which they did. after the 8th wkt, fell after Ali..Bishoo should have gotten a bowl man

DIEHARD 2017-09-08 11:57:29

In reply to Andy99

Just another reason i can't rate his captaincy.

Notice Ali got a bowl, when conditions were still ripe for the seamers..but yet

DIEHARD 2017-09-08 12:23:36

Sathyen G: "When Holder has no confidence in Bishoo why is he selected in the team? Alzarri could have been a much better choice. West Indies gave at least 40-50 runs too many because Roach and Gabriel got tired after bowling such a long spell. It might well cost them the match." What he said

Holder doesn't seem to care....

Be grateful Chase wasn't given the ball before him again cool

My bad redface

So it is really Blofeld

I am doing some grading of exams here and listening in the background....and I am saying to myself that is Blofeld but but in my mind I remember posting an article about him recently...

Anyway...happy to hear he is alive and kicking....the man's voice hasn't changed since I first remember hearing him in the early 70s

In reply to imusic... always thought highly of radio commentators that not only taught you the game but also made you feel like you were there.

analyst-kid 2017-09-08 15:28:09

If you guys really watching the cricket and Holder's captaincy and the selection blunders...

1. West Indies should have beaten Pak in UAE
2. West Indies should have beaten Pak home
3. West Indies should have been in a position to win this series.

Hope and Bishoo should have been dropped for a Hetmyer and a Reifer/Cummins here.

Why Bishoo? If the captain has no use for him...why is he playing?

r u following the game or just chatting with others, Ali is a match winner, how many overs did he bowl

tc1 2017-09-08 15:51:21

In reply to DIEHARD

how many overs did Ali bowl?

natty_forever 2017-09-08 16:17:13

In reply to tc1... what does that have to do with this? This treatment nuh start this test.

nick2020 2017-09-08 16:40:10

In reply to natty_forever

I agree.

I think where tc1 is going with this is if a better bowler in Ali was used sparingly then Bishoo should be used less. I have no idea why they picked him if they are going to use him like this.

But seriously, you really think with all the messages and drinks and tea and lunch breaks that go on in test match that Holder is unilaterally deciding not to bowl Bishoo?

clifford 2017-09-08 16:53:25

True he should have allowed Bishoo to bowl his long hops, especially when Broad was going after the bowling. lol lol lol

methodic 2017-09-08 20:51:53

In reply to analyst-kid

Reifer would have been interesting to watch

mittheimp 2017-09-08 20:54:06

obviously misjudgesd the conditions... i think everyone was a bit surprsied exactly how seam friendly.

tc1 2017-09-08 22:31:05

In reply to nick2020

yes, u explain my point, so far the Pom has bowled 88 overs and Ali bowled 4, Ali is one of the best.
these guys seem to think that Holder is the one that has a beef with Bishoo if the WI builds a substantially Bishoo should earn his keeps on the 4/5 day.

Holders letdowns are still with his field placing or lack thereof at crucial times. He seems to be getting it a bit better now or following instructions as the field setting for Cooke shows. But his timing in certain situations still befuddles.

As to hos bowling after one of yhe other 2 gets tired he is all thats left and in cloudy conditions even Sammy took a 7 fer. Still, one has to produce when taking the ball and he did so. Imagine him a yard faster and England would not have been 190+. If only he could that would be a cricket blessing
