Whatever Which Way This Test Series Go
In reply to Raggs
well just imagine if we had Samuels, Da Bravo, Ramdin and Taylor, how well we would have done?
In reply to Raggs
I'm tired of moral victories. We need more real ones.
In reply to Raggs... because we could have easily done a 67/10.

In reply to Raggs,... disagree, feel the difference is our hiring a sports psychologists. Been begging for one since 2000 little bit.

the stats do not agree. IN addition these were players who got soundly thrashed and then go and party.
This team needs Darren Bravo and a wicket keeper...Dowrich can't expect to fail with bat and drop catches and expect to hold his play.
Having said what I said...Dowrich should now go on and make a century.
In reply to analyst-kid... well those guys mentioned need a KB, SH and a Chase.
Gayle
KB
Bravo
SH

Talk to me again after the first hour of play tomorrow morning.
I was planning to travel to London for this Lords test, but Irma forced me to change plans. Our old friend Buckley is at Lords giving dem Englishmen nuff talk
In reply to Walco
I got a good feeling about this test. Lords and Anfield on my bucket list
In reply to Oilah... Good Luck.
I don't care what anyone says. I am happy that there is some fight shown. This is playing in one of the most challenging weather. Against one of the great bowling pair. Can't ask for better.
And for some people if WI made 1,000 runs and take 20 wickets every test match they will still complain. Just their nature.
In reply to runout... fight, the man them a win, that's what makes you happy, 'bout fight.
In reply to Oilah
I have a good feeling too, but we need some runs in the morning. I was hoping it would rain most of the day and we would get England out at the end of play. I was hoping for better batting conditions tomorrow. But we did well to lose only 3 wickets today. A good start from Hope and Chase tomorrow morning and anything is possible.
Lords was supposed to be off my bucket list as of yesterday
But stay safe over the weekend with Irma knocking on your door.
In reply to Walco... I say bat the day and we on our way. So I am "Hoping" we do not lose a wicket before lunch.
In reply to Raggs
Exactly my sentiments!

I would like to second what Powen said above, about the inducing title of this post...
However, I would like to add an additional perspective to the matter:
1. Irrespective of the result of this series: West Indies team will walk away drawing all confidence and being in a much better shape for the next series. On the other hand, even if England wins this test, they will seriously revisit the drawing board before the Ashes.
2. To substantiate the above point:
a) West Indies has the following slots settled in their lineup:
KB
x
x
Shai
x
x
x
Jason
Bishoo
Roach
Gabriel
They came into this series with 2 slots less sealed --- i,e. in this series Shai Hope and Roach have made their mark and thereby added to the stability of the side.
b) England on the other hand have the following slots settled:
Cook
x
x
Root
x
Stokes
Bairstow
Ali
x
Broad
Anderson
They continue to have a nightmare like situation of only 2 settled batsmen in the Top-5.
and even Cook has been looking very shaky, with a drop in his confidence.
Joe Root has now additional burden of captaincy and the pressure is showing in small ways...
All in ALL, in Summary:
No matter what the result... WINDIES go better back from this series.

I would keep Powell, runs in this match really are worth double so deserves another series. at times he looks a player. If Bravo ever comes back the batting line up starts to look like a real test lineup. Unless dowich does something very surprising in his last test innings then he needs to be dropped - for who i dont know. Bishoo is certainly not an automatic pick - on his day he is great - But retrospectively he probably shouldnt have been picked for any of the tests in england.
These things happen gradually...players emerge and strengthen developing teams into champion teams.
What stood out this season for the WI was the return of Roach, the arrival of Shai Hope and the return to form of Kraigg at Headingly.
WI have NZ in NZ next month testwise and I really think Darren Bravo should return here. Young Hetmyer should also be given a run again.
someone like Beaton,Keon Joseph or even Primus ( who performed well in his FC four day debut) should be included on tour to put pressure on Joseph and Cummins.
I am looking for WI to win their first series in years home vs Sri Lanka so we must prepare for the moulding of a strong consistent competitive team.
