London - West Indies leg-spin bowler Devindra Bishoo announced today that he has officially engaged the services of West Indian fast bowling legend Michael Holding to provide 'professional guidance to help to develop his bowling skills'. Speaking after the second day's play of the third test between West Indies and England, Bishoo made the announcement after a reporter queried why the player was picked in the test squad and not utilized in a bowling capacity. Bishoo explained that he is looking to change his bowling style to adapt to a more versatile model which would benefit any team that he is playing for. Holding will work with Bishoo to help him become a medium pacer, to develop quick leg cutters and seamers in a bid to prolong the bowler's career and to open up other playing options, especially in T20 leagues.
Bishoo went on to explain that he made his decision after consulting with his captain Jason Holder and former West Indies great, Clive Lloyd.

Bishoo is the ultimate team man, yes. He recognized he was being under-used and didn't want to just draw a pay cheque.
Anyway, good luck to him - I don't recall any spinners converting successfully at his age.
