The reality is that a struggling Dowrich with the bat = Ramdin.
Even if his wicket-keeping has been struggling, it makes more sense to replace him with a young developing wicket keeper like a Walton or an Ambris.

Why are we compromising ON THE BEST WK for an debatable Better BATSMEN.. when its clear the difference is not anything at all.

For completeness, ramdin scored a fifty in his first test in England, and in all has
1 hundred and 3 fifties in england in 9 tests. Compared to dowrich with an average of 5 in his first 3 tests.
Ramdin never dropped a chest high sitter in England. Dowrich has dropped 3 in 3 tests.

A WK cannot and should not be judged by Batting ALONE.
He is first a WK. You seem to make the argument that "Quality of WK" is not up for comparison. Only Batting is.

A WK's wicket keeping (mature or young) is judge by his glove work.
You seem to be so dumb as to not understand that the primary role of a WK is that of a WK and not a Batsmen.

Dropping Catches kills the momentum of the game and confidence of players.
Note the name it's called a wicketkeeper
If such a player must score runs to bail out the team consistently,
the team needs better batsmen.

There are SPECIALIST batsmen with no substantial scores as you say...men paid to focus only on batting, nothing else. So why pick on Ramdin...or any keeper for that matter. Dropped catches lose matches, especially when dropped from those large gloves.

Not that I'm arguing for Ramdin, BUT would you drop Roach because he doesn't Avg 40 with the bat?
The point is you should always pick your BEST keeper even if he's a dead number 11.
Why the expectation that the keeper has to be one of the top batsmen in the team?
Let the keeper who could bat drop 3 or 4 catches and you'll see where the team ends up.

In the past one of the excuses for not picking spinners is that they could not put runs on
the board. If a competent glove man does his primary job efficiently, anything else is extra.
Right now this keeper is not giving much on either side of the stumps. THis has nothing to do
with what England do or ent do....ENgland going to win...we not winning anything.,

I don't think ANYONE will have any doubt that Ramdin is the best WK in the region.
Also, in a decade of his international career, never there has been any question marks over his WK.
It was his batting, that was used as an excuse to drop him. (TRUTH WAS HE WAS DROPPED FOR THE INDIA TOUR ISSUE)
Anyways coming back..
THE POINT IS .. That the simple answer to the question : "Who is our best WK" is "Denesh Ramdin".
Now is he a no.11 with the bat.
Answer is NO. The man has 4X100s.
Is he a TOP-6 with the bat. The answer is also a NO. He is a typical No.7 WK.
And he is our BEST MAN FOR THE JOB.
He is in his early 30s. He can clearly do the job for the next few years.
Let there be an under-study in the squad. A Sunil Ambris, Walton etc.. but let them become the No.1 WK first.

Why not Sudden? WI team is too young and needs experience is evident to all.
For all the talent just think if Roach was not there in the bowling lineup this series? Forget about Roach, even the limited experience of Gabriel came in handy in the second test.
Seeing the mature approach of Gayle I would be having Gayle , Lil Bravo and Ramdin replace Powell, Kyle and Dowrich.
