This afternoon around 1.15 pm . Well I was the very first time I experienced
a Hurricane .
There was one that hit West Palm Beach
in 2005 , however on that occasion I was
in New York .
However I was very well prepared ,with
what are necessary to have in the
house & Having Accordion Hurricane Shutters made closing & lock the windows easy .
It is very strange being in a House
with all the windows closed ; and only
hearing the roars of the wind . The Electrical power went at 2.45 pm on Sunday .
There was no damage to the House , and I did not expect any , because as I stated sometime ago hear the Building
Codes were changed in 1992 after the
devastation of Hurricane Andrew .
My only fear was Tiles on the Roof , but they remained in place . One of
My FrangiPani Trees was up rooted , I
replanted it this morning . In the Community there were lots of limbs from various Trees were broken off .
Hopefully , that's it for this year.
My hope & expectation is that those
who deny Climate Change will see the
Light ; but I aint about to hold my breath .

Glad to hear you ended up in the safe side and it seems things are quickly getting back to normal for you.

Good to hear you are safe.
BTW I know those frangipani trees mean a lot to a Vince, wherever they are routed. Can't help noticing that Irma knocked off your cap locks key.
I am happy to hear you are safe with little damage. My Brother-in-law in Prembroke Pines is still without power

Thank You , My nieces one lives in
Queens ,New York & the other in Augusta , Georgia , were apprehensive
about the fact that I was not going into a Shelter , I had to allay their
fears by telling them that the house
was subjected to the 2005 Hurricane .
I could not respond to You & others until today due to the fact that there was no electricity in the Community where I live in West Palm , btw , Some Traffic Lights were also
down .

My wife wanted me to chop it up , but
I ignored her request , because I believed that it could be saved .

No Irma had absolutely nothing to do with my Caps .
In reply to sudden
You & Others of your ilk would like that , but I am fully aware of the Fact that there are some in this Forum who agree with what I state here & in the Rum Shop .
In reply to camos
Thank You , unfortunately the limb that had branches of young avocados
fell , so I have absolutely no idea
whether they can be salvaged . There
were over thirty of them lying on the Ground when I went outside the back of the House .

Thank You ; I know a little about Building Codes etc , and in addition the house did not leak or sustained
much damage in 2005 , except for Roof Tiles .
The fact that Irma did not dislodge any , is testament to the Jamaican
Guy who replaced those that were blown off in 2005 . The Truth is that
I have never ever ventured to the Roof to see what work the Jamaican Guy did .

Boca Raton is South of West Palm , and I believe that the Winds there would be worst than West Palm Beach .
I also lost two limbs on the only Ackee Tree , I have that had Young Ackees on it . The Ackee Tree was given to my wife , by one of her Jamaican Church Sisters ; who lives in the Acreage .
The Acreage is an Area where Houses are built on at least one acre of land .
