WI 3-6 for last three test series. Could have been 3-5 with a little more concentration.

WI 3-36 from 2010 - 2016

Should Holder have a good feeling. Bunch of idiots on this site. We finally have a young team of players who like putting on the WI colors and willing to fight. All you idiots can focus on is what? While the youth is not the most technical captain, he gives his all. The young men around him does the same. Add some pieces to this group and the this group will finish test matches. Inexperience right now is their enemy.

Agree - he has a fair bit to be enthusiastic about IMO.

The team are playing for each other. Some of the results over the last 12 months have been impressive (others not so much).

The emergence of Hope (and the fact he loves test match cricket and wont run for t20 money) is a huge boost.

The treaty with the WICB and the return of Darren Bravo is promising.

Holder himself has shown promising signs with the ball. His captaincy and batting need work, but he's emotionally invested and it looks like he has the respect of his peers.

Kraigg continues to show signs of emerging as a world class opening bat.

Roach and Gabriel have been steady and show signs of carrying the torch until the next gen of opening bowlers are ready.

The thing I took note of was how much love the side got after taking it to England - it made headlines around the world. These guys know that if they want to be remembered, they are in the right place. T20 fame is fleeting, but if they are part of the squad that helped the West Indies rise up the rankings again, they'll be respected and loved around the world.

It's too soon to get overly-excited, but the next 12 months is important. A series against Zimbabwe is important to solidify the recent form. The following series against NZ could be a real coming-out party for these boys, who will be much better equipped for the swinging conditions.

There's some talented kids who are knocking the door down.

I just hope this enthusiasm can be carried on for a while to come.

How you get 3-36 from 2010 to 2016?

That's 6 victories for WI.

New Zealand in West Indies Test Series 2014 New Zealand 2-1 (3)
Bangladesh in West Indies Test Series 2014 West Indies 2-0 (2)
Sir Vivian Richards Trophy (West Indies in South Africa) 2014/15 South Africa 2-0 (3)
The Wisden Trophy (England in West Indies) 2015 drawn 1-1 (3)

That's another 4 victories for West Indies.

Re-check your stats to make your point more effective.

Finally, someone who sees the positivity in this young and close knit team looking to build something special. Good post champ.

The facts are there to proved that we have destroyed our status in the last 20 years through insular selections and rejections. We are now paying for those decisions. Alas!

We have a good core of young players...with a few additions, time and experience this squad will be very good at test level.

sudden 2017-09-13 09:38:36

seems odd that seaegg should say that unless he means against higher ranked teams

Listen you update the stats all you want. The fact remains that a group of young West Indians have been trying to bring some life back into a sport that is on life support in the Caribbean. Adding some more pieces and eliminating non performers will also help to mold a team. A core is developing and that is a starting point. Fiddle with the numbers all you want and make yourself happy while doing it.
