What to expect:
Gloomy skies and thundering rains are predicted to make appearance during the course of play.

Although they cannot think of losing the lone ODI against Ireland, they need to win the series 4-1 against England if they want a hassle-free entry into the 2019 World Cup in England.
The Windies are currently 9th in the ICC ODI rankings and trail Sri Lanka - 8th in the list - by eight points. The gap might seem small, but the Caribbean side know that winning games is the only way forward. And to do just that, they have recalled some of the biggest names in their limited-overs set-up; Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels and Jerome Taylor.

Gayle and Samuels are a vital addition to a batting side depending heavily on the young Shai Hope who is the only WI batsman avg over 40 in ODIs. Those two also take away the responsiblity and gives Lewis and Mohammed more freedom to relax along with Hope
But I wonder about Taylor and the bowlers. Roach is the form bowler in Eng and he has to go home because of the timing of the selections....Keswick Williams,Cummins and Joseph are all at the start of their ODI careers and now feeling their way.

9.40 am: and wouldn't you know it, as soon as I type it the news comes out that there is going to be a delayed start this morning. The outfield is very soft out there and so the Umpires are going to look again at 10:30am.

10:15am: Well we are still 15 minutes away from that pitch inspection. The West Indies players have wandered out into the middle, must be feeling the cold a little as they are all wrapped up, bobble hats on and looking at the wicket. Think that someone should go out and tell them it wasn't much warmer in July or August either.

I expected this so didn't travel up to Stormont. I'm in Dublin where it is bright and sunny but the temperature is 12 and with the stiff breeze it feels much colder. Didn't fancy sitting outside watching cricket even though I'm used to the weather.

This is good to see...the West Indians who came over in 2003 were very surly when asked for autographs in a warm-up match I attended at Shenley.

10:40 Local Time, 09:40 GMT, 15:10 IST: All four umpires are out in the middle for inspection. The Universe Boss is keeping himself busy by signing autographs and posing for selfies. The latest information from the ground is that there will be another inspection at 11.30 local. The wait continues.

"It looks like there are just a few areas of the ground that just don't seem to want to dry. It bright sunshine all around the ground. Its the muddy parts of the outfield, the bowlers ends, bowlers landing areas. There will be another inspection at 12:30pm. Lets hope for a miracle"
"12.40 pm: Well we have some news now, officially there hasn't been much improvement so the Umpires are going to have another inspection at 1:30pm. Lunch has been brought forward to 1pm. Let's hope that it's something hot, because it's still very chilly out here today"

Seems like Cricket Ireland botched this up by lack of adequate covers in the first place. Or better drainage systems.
Just read Tim Wigmore's report on Cricinfo.
This no-result harms Ireland far worse than Windies. Not even close.
