More than a decade ago I happened to be in place where I would not normally be. I overheard a well known, past WI cricketer who was at the time a selector talking about leaving out a player. The selector did not know me but I was in the company of a very important person in Regional cricket so he probably felt comfortable to speak freely. I respect his right to speak freely to his colleague hence my decision not to reveal his name.
The selector said that leaving out an experienced bowler from a certain island was not a problem since a young batsman from the same island had been selected.
Courtney Browne reminds me of that selector. Everything he does as a selector for the male or female team seems to have a "strategic" element to it. In fact I have noticed that his public statements all seem to include the word "strategic".

It is the "strategic" decisions of Courtney Browne I want you to discuss.
