... and Death Whispered. Oh, what joy on the faces.

"Let me tell you about '76. It was a hell of a year. Seventy-six was Bob Marley in London with the Wailers, '76 was Cindy Breakspeare - Marley's lover from Jamaica - becoming Miss World on the TV. Seventy-six was the Notting Hill riots, '76 was the Soweto Uprising and black students being shot down by the white police with their dogs. Seventy-six was the year. Look at the number of pieces there, man. You can't beat that."

"He didn't know it, but there was nobody more lethal than Michael Holding. Michael Holding was the Usain Bolt of his day. He was THE BOLT. He was mighty"
Alex Pascall

Amiss ducked into the ball. The seam cut his scalp apart behind his left ear. The blow "split his head as if it were an orange with a thick peel," Marlar wrote in the Sunday Times. "But the juice was red and splattered shirt and gloves and spelt ominous danger for the Test series ahead."
... Helmets anyone?

Full and fast eminence on that dead pitch. Twelve of the 14 were bowled or lbw.

Fake News

Mikey said on Sky, that he didn't have to run top speed because he'd lose control and he'd regularly chase a ball to the boundary faster than he ran in to bowl. Pollock was telling kids to run fast. lol

Running almost as fast as he could, he jumped and let the ball go, often at 90mph or more.

"This was brand new," explains Pascall. "What Clive Lloyd was bringing to England was brand new. All our lives, class and race and culture had held our cricket down - even Frank Worrell had to stay close to what had been before. But not now. For Black Britons, carnival and the cricket were the two lungs that kept us breathing. Cricket spoke for us. When we were down in the cricket, we were down as people. When we were up - Jesus Christ - it was like fire going through the place. The West Indies were no more small. This was big time."
... I wonder if this generation get where we coming from???

POINT 2017-09-15 19:14:09

WE can again rekindle those days , but
to do that must entail a Complete Restructuring of West Indies Cricket
from the Regional Boards to the WICBC/CWI and the Regional Cricket Boards .

Unless this is done WE are simply Spitting in the Wind , and that aint
going to be pretty .

WE must have a Mission Statement that
symbolizes our Intention to have a complete break from the Past . So in this regard I propose the following
Mission Statement :

COOPERATION ; UNITY & MUTUAL RESPECT

BY MANAGEMENT & PLAYERS ARE KEYS

TO SUCCESS IN CRICKET ; LOCALLY ;

IN THE REGION & INTERNATIONALLY .

These are words that must be followed
if the Goal of ALL involved in West Indies Cricket is to restore West Indies Cricket to its once Greatness .
IN ESSENCE THE ERAS OF THE MIMIC

MEN GOVERNING CRICKET IN THE REGION

MUST BECOME A THING OF THE PAST

Obviously this will require persons
to check their inflated Asinine Egos
at the Freaking Door. There is no need for such persons to be involved
in ALL Forms of West Indies Cricket .

It is crass Stupidity to hire People
from outside the Region when WE have former Players who can do the Job .
