black 2017-09-15 08:58:15

are first or second generation in the Country which they were born or reside? Caribbean only.

It occurred to me on another thread that people in the Caribbean move around a lot.

black 2017-09-15 09:00:06

No land is useless, or should be in the Caribbean, unless in your father's case, it was right under Soufriere Hills.

Interesting, this was way after the indentured labor.

Runs 2017-09-15 11:55:16

In reply to black

Incorrect, the indentured immigrants from India servitude ended in 1917, maternal grandfather came in 1896 and paternal in 1910 or therabouts, he returned for six months to India with his mom and they decided not to stay but to return to BG. I have family which my uncles corresponded with in West Bengal. wink

Yuh forgetting Devin (yes, I know he's forgettable wink ).

Unlike Runs though, he'll never acknowledge the indentured history of his fore-parents. He'll insist that his Indian heritage is descendant from the highest caste.
