Shai Hope for Pollard
Ambris for Walton
Holder for Brathwaite
Bishoo for Narine by default
Aljo for Beaton
Kyle
Cummins
The T-20 squad was a strong one, and all the changes have been upgrades, given the format.
I dare say this is our strongest ODI team in a while, albeit some of the key players are inexperienced, like Hope
Using the T20 XI as the base, making changes for the adjustments to the squad we have
Gayle
Lewis
Samuels
Ambris
Hope
Powell
Holder
Nurse
JMo
Taylor
Williams
Narine is a spinning allrounder in T-20s, so Jmo slots into the opening lineup ahead of Bishoo who is one dimensional, being bowler only.
Of course, the batting line up will be juggled a bit, although..the positions above are interesting, and could work in a crazy way, swapping JMo with Nurse.
Curious to see how this side performs

Do WI really stand a chance in these ODIs?
In reply to DIEHARD
T20 cricket is not ODI cricket. You should know that from our successes in the shortest format and our failures in the one day format.

That's why I mentioned the upgrades.
We starting from a strong T 20 base.. Adding players more suited to the 50 over format
The T 20 players retained have decent ODI records except Powell.. The dark horse
Anybody know the make up the A team squad to face SL?

Ex-WI pacer expects improved showing in limited-overs series
JOEL BAILEY Monday, September 18 2017
FORMER TRINIDAD and Tobago and West Indies fast bowler Tony Gray is expected an improved showing by the regional team in their limited-overs series against hosts England.
The West Indies defeated hosts England by 21 runs in their lone T20 International on Saturday.
And the five One Day Internationals will be contested from tomorrow until September 29.
Gray, in a recent telephone interview, said, The 50-over game will bring more of a competitive edge by the West Indies team because the shorter the game gets, the better our team gets... less concentration, more instinctive.

In reply to sgtdjones... he realize we been stinking up the place in this format regardless of our performances in T20, actually T20 and ODIs are "negatively correlated".

Edited..it was meant to say Bishoo is bowler only. I would probably select Bishoo over Taylor.
But given the seletors approach to Bishoo....and the conditions I expect they will go with Taylor
But look at the teams we've been selecting for ODIS...the potential substituion of Kyle, Chase and Aljo with Gayle, Samuels and Ambris, makes it a much stronger looking team in terms of batting at least.
I think its our most competitive team in a while, the T-20 players selected have decent ODI records, is that inaccurate?
The selectors have done a decent job
In reply to DIEHARD... just hate peeps bashing Bishoo, when he is actually one of our better cricketers!
Kyle?
fail team...can't gift plunkett all those wickets.

Kyle Hope opened in our last ODI against India...he has been replaced by Gayle..major upgrade that
In reply to DIEHARD... okay, natty wasn't following. Cool.
Seem to have gotten enough evidence to now arrive at a conclusion....
