Anyone following Roach's career knows that it is exposure to nuff FC/Int'l cricket that brings him back to top form....Roach doesn't do much outside tests and FC. The ODI series would have been ideal for him to maintain his form and confidence...to rest Roach is detrimental to Roach unless he has FC regional cricket to jump back into.

Roach bowled a lot of overs in long spells during the test series, what was his injury worry?
Anyway let him rest, get him ready for Zimbabwe & New Zealand tours.
