The coach is asking for fire power. Sangakara in the CPL was saying the same thing for Jamaica. We do not have to win against Sri Lanka, but use the opportunity to blood new intelligent fast bowlers. Why Cottrel? We know his product already. Either you want him at test level or not. If Cottrel then why no Beaton? He looked pretty sharp also and fiery..

Nobody will questions team selection now .. just the Cpt

no bajans...no problem
but honestly Kyle hope should be there, with Darren bravo returning for the next test series, kyle will lose his spot, may be the selectors got tried of people complaining about the quantity of bajans in west indies teams

I like the wild card plan. I would have played just Cornwall and take the chance to look at another pacer too. There are quite a few talented kids around that need this exposure.

Thats good for T20, but a solid base on batting is what needed.
I watched Shai today, if he continue to work on his game, the skies will be the limit.
He was good behind the stump and his batting at the International level, has improved.

in total agreement. Shai has taken his opportunity and ran with it. You can only wonder what it would be like if a few more young batters step up. The CPL was useful in showing us the raw fire power available in the region but beyond Lewis there was nothing special to give us hope ( or another Hope !!!)

I like Lewis, but I do have a problem with his approach to batting.
T20 batting is power hitting from the first delivery, you cannot do it in ODI.

Barring Kevin Stoute, all of the remaining Barbados players are in a West Indies squad and/or have a retainer contract.

The coaches are coaching in West Indies teams in all formats.

The chairman of selectors is bajan

Mission almost accomplihed.

What was that? A pivot?

Why don't you question this A team selection and see if the players selected merit their selection.

Of course not... they will not be a peep from certain people.

Why not blood at least one U-19 player if the idea is to rebuild and look to the future?

As per the elusive fire power mission they have been on for the past 20 years seems to be one pacing and not picking up any speed. Best of luck with that....

Well said. We lose our fire power after they get past the Under 19 level... and it is not food related.

what about Stoute, Greaves, Warrican and Alleyne, these 3 had a good season, better than most picked.

It's an A-team. I don't care much.

However, If it was upto me, this would be my A-TEAM ( FOUR changes with reasons)

----------------------

John Campbell
Hetmyer (was given 2 tests, sat out the Pom tour, he is the clear next in line)
Kyle Hope (was given 3 Tests in England, got exposed, he needs to be moved to A-TEAM)
Vishaul Singh (captain)
Sunil Ambris
Raymon Reifer (was a tourist on the Pom Tour, he needs to be moved to A-TEAM)
Hamilton (wk)
Cornwall
Cummins (again was on Pom tour, got exposed, he needs to be moved to A-TEAM)
Jacobs
Cottrell

------------------

This XI in my opinion, represents our true A-TEAM, with players either moving up from domestic towards the A Team, or moving down from Senior Team to A-Team.

This methodology of selection is also transparent and not arbitrary.

OFCOURSE DUMB FCUK BOOT LICKERS WONT UNDERSTAND WHAT "TRANSPARENCY" AND "ARBITRARY" means..

SO GO LOOK UP THE DICTIONARY

One of the many problem with these selectors, they don't seem to build a group of players.
Leon Johnson should be the A team captain, and should be surrounded with guys from the last A team, who is not on International duty.

why should Leon Johnson be A team captain?
Did Brooke not captain the last A team?
