DIEHARD 2017-09-19 22:24:23

Does it exist? Last seen being delivered to the Loch Ness Monster.

Seriously..why is he on our ODI team?

Rampaul
Gabriel
Cottrell

those three are the best options right now, IMO.

Surprising you should ask this today, the very day when he produces at least one yorker.

Then again maybe I should not be surprised.

I am a Beaton fan, he has heart and guts, you can give him the ball at 10:00 am and at 4:30 pm, and he will bowl, with the same energy and heart.
Others seem to go thru the motion.

But then Ewart, all the short ones. You should have seen his pitch map. They were, short, short and shorter.

Rampaul looked done during the CPL series. I dont think he is going to add value to the WI team.

There is a need to blood Young Quicks who have the smarts for LO cricket. Beaton looked good in the CPL. Roach, on his come back, looked good. Gabriel was the most improved bowler in sight.

Gabriel is being rested for tests. Rampaul..only seen him in CPL recently..not sure how much he has left

I am a fan of Rampaul but he didn't had a good County season ..ranked about 52 in the bowling averages

Wow..really..fallen off that much, big fan of his as wel.

But..i dunno on what basis Taylor is selected for limited overs and not Tests, if they want to see his match fitness..then shouldnt he be on the A team squad.

Or are they looking for a reason to discard him permanently based on his poor performance in ODIs?

Agree with you, Beaton if not injured doesnt look like a bad pick either.

But Taylor for ODIs..is not a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th pick pacer.

Dunno what the selectors playing

I backed Rampaul too but the Rampaul I saw in CPL was too unfit and erratic. Noy the wicket taking quick I used to back for selection

I agree. Far too many. And they were not snorting past the batsman's face either.

But the complaint was about the absence of yorkers....

The selectors were using this tour to get rid of some of the dead weight in Taylor and Bishoo. They played them knowing full well they were going to fail terribly, so that when they dropped them, there would be no further talk about their inclusion. Watch and see that the spinner Jacobs and fast bowlers Thomas or Leveridge will come in the dance after the Sri Lankan A team tour.

That is the worst reasoning ever. A series that if we won all matches, we wouldn't have had to qualify for the World Cup, the selectors picked a team with the aim of getting rid of dead weight - God I hope the selectors reasoning are not so bad!!!

But then maybe you are being sarcastic, in which case I am sorry!!!
