I have highlighted this here for years now and many folks here do not see it as a problem.
Our strategy is to take a big chunk at the start and in the end of the inning...and we block the middle overs.
This will not succeed with any level of consistency at the international level.

Rotating the strike is just as important as boundaries.
When do you ever see Windies pushing and scrambling for two's and three's, challenging the throw of the fielders?
The likes of Sarwan, Ramdin and Dwayne Bravo were good at that.

In reply to DIEHARD... that's how I will be judging Law. His Test grade not bad. 2-1 series lost. The one win away from home is a plus. So far the ODIs taking away that plus.

I was disappointed by Mohammed and Hope who i thought could provide that rotation of the strike..
There was a time I was saying move Samuels down the order to 6 or 7 and hope he comes in in the last 10..and tell him swing for the fences from ball 1, or sit down..beginning to think thats the case again...he cant continue to come in at 3..and eat up deliveries
Gayle..i think his pros outweigh the cons for now..if he bats until the 30th over or so..he'll always lay a good platform, the rest of the team just needs to know how to bat around the man who cant run well between the wickets..

Having a plan and executing it are two different things. The coaches can only do the former while it's the players job to do the latter.

You lot take a lot of pride in your brutal power hitting and use the 20/20 success as a yardstick..where is the room for thought about rotating strike?

1. First order of business is to be able to protect your wicket.
2. When you have mastered that, then you can work on finding the gaps
We are still at step one. Most of our players cannot do 1) and 2). Its is much easier to go for a big hit when the ball is in the slot, than try to work that same ball into the gap. It requires more skill and lots of lots of practice to work good length balls into gaps.

Blame it all on Shiv, Samuels, and Daren Bravo. With their notoriety for running out their partners, batsmen opted for the safe route thereby leading to the sharp singles no longer remain in their repertoire.

Shiv was not the problem
How come Shiv has opened with Chris Gayle with success...no run outs....Gayle may not run singles but Shiv did
Shiv has had major partnerships with Hooper, Lara and Sarwan.....no run out issues....in fact no run out issues with Samuels either
