Why Jamaicans can't play in the EPL

JAMAICAN STANDOUTS PAYING PRICE FOR NATIONAL TEAM'S LOW FIFA RANKING

Sources confirmed to Goal that Premier League sides Brighton and Crystal Palace made multi-million dollar offers for Blake this past summer after his outstanding CONCACAF Gold Cup showing. Unfortunately for Blake and the interested clubs, the deals fell apart because Blake doesn't qualify for a U.K. work permit. The main reason for Blake's inability to secure a work permit? Jamaica's low FIFA ranking.

Players who play regularly for national teams ranked in the top 50 of FIFA's rankings qualify for work permits to play in England automatically. Jamaica is ranked 61st and hasn't been in the top 50 in more than a decade. That reality has made it impossible for Jamaican players to make moves to the Premier League, even when teams have the desire and transfer resources to make it happen.

A huge amount of money is paid for TV rights. With TV name recognition is important. If your team is not in the top ranking wise then that is an easy criteria for elimination. For the exceptional player there is always a way to get around the problem.

The new system will make it far easier for us to identify and attract top quality players that truly are at the elite level, and it will make it far tougher for those who don’t meet the quality standard to get to play in Britain.”

NEVER EVER UNDER ESTIMATE THE

CUNNINGNESS OF THE BRITISH .

I am reminded of the limitation place
on Cricketers playing Cricket in England ; which was then swiftly followed by a change in the International Touring Schedule .

Those were carefully crafted plots
to diminish the greatness of our Cricket Team in the International
Cricket Arena .

Was there a Pro or semi Pro League in the Region at that time ?????
The answer is NO .

Now , if you don't believe what I, have stated Find out which Team had
the fastest Bowlers in the World when it was decided to introduce the 1 Bouncer per Over Rule . That also was
not accidental .

Yes indeed. The clubs want Blake. It's the xenophobic British government that put in these regulations.

There's a way around it. Play for a club in Belgium and get your work permit there. Next year an English club can buy you. There is still freedom of movement in Europe until 2021 at least according to a speech by Theresa may this weekend.

Once you have a work permit to play in Belgium you can play anywhere in Europe.

The same shit happened to some Trinis over the past 5 years,TT barely got 50 or better over the last 10 years,I don't think any country have seen so much turmoil in their football fraternity for so many years.

You never give up with your anti-British hatred!

Did you read the link rubberd posted?

Dyke was keen to stress that:

“The new system will make it far easier for us to identify and attract top quality players that truly are at the elite level, and it will make it far tougher for those who don’t meet the quality standard to get to play in Britain.”

The FA had to do something to minimised the number of sub-standard footballers taking the place of home grown players!

Left to me, there will be only 3 non-EEA players in any starting XI.

How about focusing your attention on JA not making the top 50 FIFA rankings for more than a decade instead of blaming the Brits for eveything?
