Holder to Bairstow, SIX, they couldn't capitalize on the first free-hit but Bairstow makes sure he gets the desired result this time. He knew what was coming,

Narper 2017-09-24 06:25:55

Gawn
5.3
Holder to Bairstow, out Caught&Bowled!! What a comeback from the Windies' skipper. He has the final laugh. Windies get the breakthrough they dearly wanted. Banged in short, perhaps climbed more than what Bairstow expected there.

Bairstow c and b Holder 13(17) [4s-1 6s-1]

goliath 2017-09-24 06:26:16

5.2 Holder to Bairstow, SIX, and Bairstow connects cleanly! Short of a length, he swings it high over midwicket into the crowd

Free hit

Holder to Hales, (no ball) 1 run, short of a length, a bottom-handed whip goes in the air for a while but safely towards mid-on...another no-ball! Poor from West Indies

Holder to Bairstow, OUT, gone now! Good comeback from the captain. Short of a length outside off, Bairstow tries to work it through the leg side and gets a big leading edge which loops back to Holder

Cummins taking massive licks, and Holder is too...Moeen cashing in.

Several bowlers will have more expensive economy rates than Bishoo in this match.

NineMiles 2017-09-24 09:20:54

Wow... Moeen mowing the WI bowlers for plenty SIXES!

This is shite bowling!

Yuh can't be that stupid Mikey!

mikesiva 2017-09-24 09:24:36

In reply to NineMiles

You're one of those who thinks that once you drop Bishoo, all of a sudden these jokers are going to bowl England out for 155?
big grin
Bishoo's only bowled five overs in this match. There's been 45 other overs of crap. Simple facts....

But Holder wants to make Bishoo into the scapegoat. he's bowled the least number of overs in this match.

The ironic thing about the captaincy is the most economical bowlers, bowled the least overs rolleyes

In reply to mikesiva

These boys have concrete in their heads.

50 overs is a long time - this is not 20/20

England’s Highest run rate came in the last 7 overs. If WI bat like this they will not get to the last 7 overs! confused

doosra 2017-09-24 10:40:34

go windies

the boundaries short

easy to clear

Narper 2017-09-24 10:40:52

5.6
Willey to Gayle, FOUR, this came right off the middle.
5.5
Willey to Gayle, FOUR, in the air and over backward point. Gayle is living dangerously. Short and outside off, he threw his bat at it and manages to clear a leaping backward point fielder

mikesiva 2017-09-24 11:05:57

The solution did NOT lie in Holder and Cummins bowling out 20 overs between them!
big grin
Shai out for 20 off 25...that hurts the D/L.

In reply to mikesiva

The solution did NOT lie in Holder and Cummins bowling out 20 overs between them!

Would you then entrust the spin bowler who was bowling consistently short and flat and with no variety throughout the match (and I dare say throughout his career) with the death overs?

mikesiva 2017-09-24 11:11:13

In reply to Acid

Gayle gets 50 from 38!

100 up from 13.5 overs

mikesiva 2017-09-24 11:14:12

In reply to Courtesy

That's the problem you end up with when you pick two crap medium-pacers in Holder and Cummins....
cool
It would've been better to bowl more of Bishoo in the middle overs, and Powell at the end. At least Powell can vary his pace in a way Holder and Cummins seem incapable of doing.

100 up in the 14th over! According to my calculations, we're just ahead of D/L. That said, I find D/L so complicated that I'm not sure....
big grin

Courtesy 2017-09-24 11:15:26

In reply to mikesiva

It's also a problem when you pick a front line bowler who cannot bowl his full quota of overs...pick your poison.

Hindsight is always 20/20 vision. Bishoo couldn't do it when there was no slogging , what are the chances he can do it with slogging and absolutely no deception in his bowling.

No decision is made on the spur of the moment with the benefit of hindsight.

Acid 2017-09-24 11:22:04

How is that out???

That is not conclusive
