Is St. Kitts & Nevis undermining neighbours?

... on a matter of Citizenship by Investment?

Or is this a matter of media spin at work here?

I do not know whether it is Media Spin or not . I do know however that there are certain Countries in the Region
that have decided to Sell Passports to persons who can afford to plunk down
Thousands of Dollars to buy Citizenship & also get Passports .

The Government of St. Vincent & the Grenadines however are adamantly against doing that . I personally agree with the stance the Government of St. Vincent & the Grenadines have
taken on this Issue .

I absolutely believe that some Nefarious Characters are going to be
in the possession of Passports , from those who willingly sell away the
Birth Rights of their Citizens .

The stark fact in my opinion is that sometime in the Future , those who are Hell bent on selling Citizenship
& Passports , will regret doing that .
My fear however is that the People in
those Governments , doing this Dastardly Acts , will be Dead & Gone . History , in my opinion aint going
to be kind to these Traitors .

I do not have a problem with People
Investing in the Region , however in my opinion ; they must live in the Country for at least 15 years before
they can apply for a Passport .

My take is that Selling Passports ;
over time will mean that over time
the :

REAL CITIZENS OF THOSE ISLANDS

ARE GOING TO FIND THEMSELVES BEING

OUTNUMBERED IN THE LANDS OF THEIR

BIRTH .

This citizenship by investment thing sounds dodgy.

How many islands are doing this?

My understanding is that there are a few of them doing that . My understanding is that St.Kitts is One
of them ; and there are others , but
I do not recall their names .

My fear is that one day in the Future
the Citizens of those Countries would
one day wake up and find that they own Nothing in their Countries ; and will be treated as second class Citizens , never mind the fact that their Navel String is buried in their Island .

Ask Commie

Isn't he involved?

The idea was floated up here in Bermuda several months ago (even though technically it's more of a Residency by Investment since it's a UK dependency and there's no such thing as a Bermudian *citizen*) but there was strong objection to it. Now that a new government is in place I don't expect the topic to be raised anytime soon.

To my knowledge, St. Lucia, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda among Caribbean countries (as well as SKN) offer it... but also some European countries like Cyprus and Malta.

My perspective is that in the long run
not selling Passports would be better
than Selling them .

As I have stated , All Sorts of Dubious & Shady Characters will always
show up to get a Passport .

Frankly my take is that no Government in the Region has the ability to carefully Screen People showing up to
Buy Passports .
