The hierarchy of the Cricket West Indies board is in town this weekend for a directors meeting, and just hours after its president Dave Cameron touched down in T&T, Guardian Media Sports sat down for a wide-ranging interview.
Just over a week ago, it was confirmed the West Indies men’s senior team will have to play World Cup qualifiers next year in order to make the 2019 tournament. Like every other fan in the region, Cameron admitted the board had prepared itself for this moment. But the occasion did present a chance for this interview to touch on several different topics, that all led back to the state of the game in the region.
For a president that has been at loggerheads with the players for much of his term, Cameron pointed to significant flaws at the administrative level in the West Indies that is partly at fault for the downward spiral in our cricket. He said, “While we have been able to put money into the pockets of the players, what we haven’t done, we haven’t transformed our administrators around what is required to administer a professional system, and that is where we are failing. We keep ‘blaming’ the players for some of the shortcomings but it is as a result of the shortcomings of our administration.”

He said, Weve had to make very tough decisions which the ordinary person would not have been able to understand. Our hope is that in ten years time people would understand the decisions we had to make at the time.
Here's the plantation mindset- ordinary people are too stupid to understand, only us smart people can.
Is Cameron so dumb that he doesn't realize he has less education and less experience than many of us here and in the region?
Wow.

You said it all.
In the third world those in power have always been condescending to their constituents, viewing them as the hoi polloi.
I remember sitting on the seawalls in Belair and watching Skip Roberts, Elvin McDavid, and Forbes majestically riding horse along the seawalls provoking images of the white slave master. One of us remarked: hmm, it seems only the colour of the master has changed.

He did not say anything wrong..When has an Administrator in WI admitted being part of the problem? Yet, we criticise him for speaking the truth. To solve a problem you have to admit you have one! Do not be ordinary, friend.

Unless you are privy to the inner workings and intimate decision makings of CWI then I plead guilty. What's your source or who is your source? And why should CWI tell the fans. How is this affecting my pocket book? Its not.
Do you think the ordinary fans knows or understands? Or for even that matters cares? They want the team to win, period.
Do you think Zuckerberger tells FB followers all his decisions and how its made nor do they care to understand? Or Twitter CEO? As long as they can tweet. and post tripe.
Its only when WI fans realise that we do not own WI cricket then wen can stop being so irrational.

Most of the problems were created by Cameron and his men.
Justice Lucky should be laughing at these idiots.

The CWI head feels past administrations of the board plugged too much money into the players and not enough into sustaining the game, and thats what hes hoping to effect.
If Cameron feel that the players makes too much money then he should resign now. He will always be at war with the elite players and Windies will continue to go backwards.

Your Comment is not only very Insightful it is also Correct .
The Dumbs Assess in the Media failed
to ask what was the purpose of Commissioning several Reports and
then Failing to implement the salient Features of those Reports .
Evidently that aint their Job , There
Job apparently is to be Boot Lickers
of those who populate the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth .

Adhering to reports, may change the structure of the board, but will it get batsman or bowlers to bowl to International standards?
One of the problems for the youngsters, is not being able to compete with the stars, locally or at the regional level in 50 Overs or 4-day competition.
Holding, Viv and others, were able to practice with players from their Island, and compete against their test team mates on a yearly basis.
Someone must have seen the deterioration of the regional product, and tried to sanction Dessie, and what is left for the good young regional players, is to watch these guys on TV or the CPL.
The reason why the Leewards were so powerful, is having Andy, Viv and Richie, though guys played regional cricket, and every regional bowler and batsman, competed against them.
The CPL has that formula

It is very interesting that a Cricket Board that was formed in 1928 , still
is of the opinion that there is no need to change its Structure .
The fact that we are now living in 2017 apparently is very irrelevant ,
to some Idiots here ; who apparently
are akin to Rip Van Winkle .
Hell times have changed , but the
WICBC/CWI BLUNTLY REFUSES TO CHANGE .
some years ago the New Zealand Cricket Board changed its Structure , because its Team was losing Matches .
The New Zealand Cricket Board decided
to make changes , but not this Lot WE
are saddled with . They and their Supporters prefer instead to heap all the blame on the Players .
NO ONE HAS TO MY KNOWLEDGE STATED
WHAT THE HELL WAS THE PURPOSE OF
COMMISSIONING THESE REPORTS WHEN THEY
KNEW THEY WERE NOT GOING TO CHANGE
THEIR ARCHAIC STRUCTURE .
What they have done is to bamboozle
the People in the Region into believing that they intend to implement the recommendations of the
Reports .
I firmly believe that the people in
the WICBC/CWI have absolutely no intention of changing its Structure .
It allows them to be UnAccountable to
anyOne regarding their Actions .
It also allows them to be not Transparent ; and discard the Principles of Good Governance . Its
Boot Lickers in this Forum because they are brainwashed , will never accept that Change MUST START from the Top Down , rather than the Bottom Up .
EVERYTHING WRONG WITH WEST INDIES
CRICKET IN THEIR MINDS HAS TO DO WITH
THE PLAYERS , SINCE TO THEM THOSE IN
THE WICBC/CWI ARE TOTALLY INFALLIBLE
WE HAVE BEEN HEARING THIS NANCY STORY
FOR MANY YEARS NOW . BUT STILL THE
DUMB ASSES PERSIST IN THEIR UTTER
STUPIDITY .
Lost on these Morons is the fact that
Players have been , and are shuffled
in and out of Our Teams all the time , yet in the longer versions of the
game , WE are getting Licks Like Peas.
Obviously then it aint have one blasted thing to do with the Players , Lost on the Morons is the fact that
the High Performance Center was closed , I have not heard about any replacement .
But this fact has not daunted the brainwashed Lackeys of the WICBC into
opening their Eyes and Brains to
to realize that Blaming the Players
is not the Solution to making Our
Players fully Competitive in the International Cricket Arena .
Let me once and for all dispel the
asinine Stupidity that is being peddled by the Boot Lickers of the
WICBC/CWI .
HOW IS IT THAT IN THE SHORTEST
VERSION OF THE GAME OUR PLAYERS WON
WON 2 CONSECUTIVE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
?????
I offer the above as a strong rebuttal to the Boot Lickers in this
Forum , who want to blame our Players
for their Failures in the Longer Version of the game .
BTW , it was not the WICBC/CWI that
was initially in charge of this version of the Game . The fact is that initially the WICBC/CWI had little to do with this version of the
Game .
POINT
2017-10-01 01:22:22
The TRUTH is that it is only in the
shortest version of the game ; that
Our Players have brought Honour and
Glory to the Region .
Interestingly in the longer versions of the Game that were always controlled by the WICBC/CWI WE are at
or near the bottom .
Unfortunately , the brainwashed Idiots
in this Forum are to dumb to understand or fathom how it is that
Our Players in the Shortest version of the game are fully competitive , but in the longer versions of the game THEY are at or near the bottom.
Obviously then the difference has to do with those who were initially in
control of the Shortest version of the game , and those who were always
in control of the longer versions of the game .
Now that aint Rocket Science , it is plain old Common Sense , which apparently the WICBC/CWI in this Forum Lack . So when I hear the Resident Lackeys of the WICBC/CWI state that its all Our Players Fault , I cannot , and will not subscribe to that B.S .

Cameron knows that the T&TCB Administration will change to Dinas and Ganga at the helm
After the Court decision in 2108
Changes will come next in Guyana?
He is seeing ill winds in the future
Time to adjust eh Cameron , if you want to stay in power.
POINT
2017-10-01 17:03:47
I have a sneaky suspicion that Cameron
has got a whiff of the findings of the Wehby Report ; and it probably does not paint the WICBC/CWI in a Rosy Light , so he is now offering the
General Public his Mea Culpas .
If that is the case I am not amused
by this latest Ploy . THEY ALL MUST
GO . As I have often stated in this
Forum :
THE OCCUPANTS OF THE WICBC/CWI HAVE
NOT DEVIATED FROM THEIR STRUCTURE
SINCE THE WICBC WAS FORMED .
They have commissioned several Reports , and just as quickly discarded them without taking on board the salient Features of those
Reports .
In my opinion it is too Damn Late
for them to state that they will change . THEY MUST ALL GO .
POINT
2017-10-02 11:01:47
The very fact that it has taken Cameron this long before acknowledging
the Colossal Mistakes of the WICBC/CWI
Means that ALL of Them must be removed
from the Governance of Cricket in the
Region .
It would be interesting if he is asked
to address the matter of refusing to
put in place the Changes recommended
by most of the Reports , the Board Commissioned .
Cameron Boy , You & the Board must Go
WE have had enough of the Regional & International Embarrassment the Board has brought to the Region .
