HEADLINE: Huge bonuses for foreign players who play in PSL home matches

CaribbeanCricket.com 2017-10-02 07:05:28

LAHORE, Pakistan (CMC) — West Indies players who opt to play matches in Pakistan during next year's Pakistan Super League will benefit from Pakistan Cricket Board largesse, with foreign players being offered US$10,000 per game.
Media reports here said the match bonuses would be paid in addition to the players' existing contracts, with the hope of encouraging international players to make themselves available for the home matches.
For the first time next year, the PSL is set to host six to eight matches in Pakistan, with the remainder scheduled to be played at the usual venues in United Arab Emirates.
This home schedule is expected to include double-headers in Lahore and Karachi.
If the move comes to fruition, it will mark the first time PSL matches will be played inside Pakistan.

$10,000 per game??? As mi Bredrin in JA would say, that's monkey money. That must be a typo. The actual figure surely is more like $100,000 per game

Peanuts as we call it.

Pakistan is not safe for foreigners and sooner rather than later someone's family is going to regret they could not convince their love one not to go there.

If I’m a cricketer who is being asked to put my life on the line, the pay would have to enough to take care of my family if I die. Plus, CWI would have to pay for a $2,000,000 life insurance with my kids as beneficiaries.

Ha Ha .. refer to one of my post on this matter two weeks ago smile

True. $10,000 per match might me mucho dinero for some, but not for the stars. At this point, Pakistan will probably take what they get. Time for Tino and Floyd Reifer to eat a food smile

Your link is not working, but I think a touring international cricket team is more likely to be targeted by terrorists than the average joe citizen or tourist.

and these players will not have the sort of security the recent intl team had?

The same can be said for half of the countries in the world including the great US of A

Of course they will have maximum security. But they will be targets nonetheless. By the way, the Sri Lankan cricket team had security also, but I doutt it was as much as the West Indies team will have. Time will tail regarding the store, I for one I would not go. Simple risk reward calculation for me.
