His hateful and uninformed rhetoric and action have uncovered and emboldened a contemporary surge of racism.

That is a biased statement with no figures to back it up.

America was just as divided under Obama.

This event is very tragic but some on here want to brand it as terrorism to cover for their own religion.

Most of the people committing these acts are mentally unstable.

I don't know all the facts on this guy but many of the shooters were mentally ill. The guy that killed people in that Colorado movie theater was crazy, the guy that killed the kids in Connecticut was crazy also.

We know that this guy had be spending ten thousand dollars a day lately, that could have set him off.

Think about this! Many of the terrorist are grown to kill other people. Many of the home grown terrorist are grown to live the American dream but they are having their killings justified as mentally unstable but the stereotypes young Muslims who never had a chance to see and understand the real world is very stable and is conscious of killing!

This world sucks on both sides and until you are willing to see and act on the RC, it will not stop! Global warming better hurry up!

mikesiva 2017-10-03 02:55:37

In reply to embsallie

Indeed. It's all semantics. Stephen paddock killed at least 59 people. This is terrorism in my book because he terrified his victims. Americans should be more concerned about this form of terrorism. He did not come from Somalia or iran.

More American people are killed this way than by so called acts of terrorism. But Stephen paddock doesn't tick all those boxes of those with an agenda.

Like you din get d memo or wat?

Classification of terrorism is only when the killer is brown or black skin, with a non European name, specifically a "muslim sounding name."

White Christian is not capable of terrorist actions. It is referred to as lone wolf, mental or as Poster Black, an "Afro Guyanese" calls it, "stress related."
wink

gvenkat 2017-10-03 08:53:58

The Vegas shooter doesn't appear to be a terrorist. Terrorism requires a strong political motive and these fucks with political motives make sure we get their message by shouting a slogan or something of that sort.

A lunatic killer isn't necessarily a terrorist.

bravos 2017-10-03 09:17:03

In reply to gvenkat

But he administered terror..in the purest sense of the word he's a terrorist..maybe not politically motivated but he brought terror with deadly effect.

Correct. Terrorists, spread fear via a network of people, this guy didn't think he was going to live past this one act. And, it is politically motivated (terrorism) as you stated.

Runs 2017-10-03 09:36:21

Can also have social causes, the fact of the matter is this, by doing such an act he performed an act meant to terrorise. cool

bravos 2017-10-03 09:41:49

In reply to Runs

Dunno why they trying to redefine the English language to suit politics.

1+1 is 2 no matter how you twist it,fundamentally the man's a big terrorist, more successful than many politically motivated attackers.

Runs 2017-10-03 09:47:41

In reply to bravos

Even folks on here are equating the act differently, as if it is somehow not as evil, unbelievable.

gvenkat 2017-10-03 09:51:19

In reply to bravos

What was his motive? Either way semantics don't matter. This has more to do with gun violence than anything else.

By your logic, The west Indian fast bowlers of yesteryear administered terror with their bowling on the cricket field.. What should we call them?

black 2017-10-03 09:55:08

In reply to Runs

It is just as evil.

You said it yourself, "the guy is crazy". It is not normal behavior, terrorists have an agenda to bring about change, if one dies, others will see it through.

bravos 2017-10-03 09:55:50

In reply to Runs

Totally..

What they fail to realize that this social homegrown terrorism is much more dangerous than the outside politically motivated brand.

Doh worry they go twist up and make a new word fuh it and even give it an acronym..who knows maybe it's just 'affluenza' or even PTSD but certainly not an act of 'terror' as defined by THEM.

bravos 2017-10-03 09:59:27

To me the semantics coming from everywhere else.

By your logic, The west Indian fast bowlers of yesteryear administered terror with their bowling on the cricket field.. What should we call them?

Yes they did..they definitely terrorized hapless opposition batsmen but terror in sport is far different to the terror we saw yesterday in Vegas..that would be the semantics free version... Hmmmm sad that you can't tell the difference..

bravos 2017-10-03 10:07:00

All this because allyuh want to reserve that bit of genuine meaningful and indisputable English language to label a choice few, even ISIS must be in awe of that local act of terror, they have been put out of work and made to look incompetent by that terror inducing all American..

No matter the motivation the incident is of 'political' proportions and it succeeded in it's aim of delivering wholesale terror..

You seriously need to go check homeland security's definition of terror or what the Patriot Act defines as terrorism. You may be surprised at what u find.

black 2017-10-03 10:20:30

In reply to bravos

No one is saying that he is not dangerous, in some ways, he is more dangerous because he is betraying the trust society placed in him to act like a normal person.

It's like having a driver license, society expect you to perform the normal task of driving on the road. So, when that trust is betrayed, we are all puzzled.

According to Nevada state law, an "act of terrorism" is described as follows: "Any act that involves the use of violence intended to cause great bodily harm or death to the general population."

Nuff terrorist deh bout.

pelon 2017-10-03 15:05:46

Does the NRA get labeled as supporting terrorism?

They actively fund, support, push for legislation and the proliferation in support of weapons clearly not intended by the 2nd amendment.

Why is it unpatriotic to seek gun control?

The NRA is too powerful as a member organization, politically, and only the brave can call it as a manipulator of the 2nd amendment for the benefit of weapon manufactures.

Jabs, he won't get it, I offer this:

He comes from a culture that religiously accepts oppression as a normal way of life- he received it from the "higher caste" above him and he dished it out to others from the few "lower caste" below him.

As long as we keep following religious books with such devious teachings killing will always be an option. Maybe if they wrote the story differently killing wouldn't even be a thought.

The primal instinct of killing continues to be a main feature of the bible, like I said before as a kid my first encounter with violence and realization that it was a valid option was at Sunday School. Picture a world indoctrinated by Confucius or Plato instead of books of barbarism genocide and fragmentation.

Humans have far progressed beyond such books but they remain a monkey on the back of real human progress.

Jabari18 2017-10-04 10:03:04

In reply to bravos

Actually the fight for wealth and resources will always continue. The charge now isn’t “for god” it is “for freedom”. When trump and Kim destroy the world it wouldn’t be for religion. It will be because humans are an evil virus in this beautiful planet.

Think about the current lack of resources to feed the globe. Now think about 50 years in the future at our current rate of expansion and use of resources. Why do you think people will be killing each other then.

Emir 2017-10-04 19:41:47

In reply to Jabari18

Think about the current lack of resources to feed the globe.

I am assuming you are referring to a "shortage of food." if so, know there are no food shortage in this world, the world has more food the we ever had. The problem is of of uneven distribution of food which causes hunger in some parts of the world and too much food in other parts of the world which lead to wastage.

Jabari18 2017-10-04 19:58:08

In reply to Emir

Whether the scarcity is due to distribution or not there is the scarcity.

Emir 2017-10-05 08:08:54

In reply to Jabari18

No Sir, its not scarcity, it is uneven distribution- it cannot be scarcity because we have more than enough food to feed the whole of humanity, the reason why so many go hungry is certain places is because of uneven and or inequitable distribution of the global food network- the reasons for this is a different topic.

Jabari18 2017-10-05 17:48:07

In reply to Emir

Not really sir. What you think happens when resources are severely inequitably distributed? What happens when the have nots want to get from the haves. And even worse when the haves are greedy. Also note the regions of the world with the fastest population growth and the resources available to them. And also note the effect of climate change on global food production
