In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
His hateful and uninformed rhetoric and action have uncovered and emboldened a contemporary surge of racism.
That is a biased statement with no figures to back it up.
America was just as divided under Obama.
In reply to nitro
This event is very tragic but some on here want to brand it as terrorism to cover for their own religion.
Most of the people committing these acts are mentally unstable.
In reply to black
terrorism is a mentally unstable act also
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Not to make light of this very bad situation but that statement suggests there are a lot of mentally unstable muslims.

Can you read?
Was replying to black's statement
Most of the people committing these acts are mentally unstable.
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
Dude, these are not people that snapped, these are people plotting (sometimes for years) to savagely kill others.
In reply to black
2 years of irrational thinking? some ppl go thru a lifetime that way.....
this guy did not snap or acted on impulse. Look at the facts
In reply to Dan_De_Lyan
this guy did not snap or acted on impulse. Look at the facts
I don't know all the facts on this guy but many of the shooters were mentally ill. The guy that killed people in that Colorado movie theater was crazy, the guy that killed the kids in Connecticut was crazy also.
We know that this guy had be spending ten thousand dollars a day lately, that could have set him off.
In reply to black
This was carefully planned, he was a psychopath.
In reply to Runs
His dad was a phycho also, he was (his dad ) on the FBI's most wanted list.
In reply to Runs
Isn't a psychopath someone with a mental disorder?
In reply to Kay
They can function normally but don't have to ability show and feel emotion.
In reply to Kay
Obviously he had mental issues, but not to the point of being insane. Normal people do not go shooting innocent people.
Think about this! Many of the terrorist are grown to kill other people. Many of the home grown terrorist are grown to live the American dream but they are having their killings justified as mentally unstable but the stereotypes young Muslims who never had a chance to see and understand the real world is very stable and is conscious of killing!
This world sucks on both sides and until you are willing to see and act on the RC, it will not stop! Global warming better hurry up!
In reply to nitro
So what the great US of A has been doing in countries around the world?
In reply to WestDem
What nonsense. Being poor is not an excuse for slaughtering innocent people.
In reply to black
Being rich is?
In reply to nitro
To an American? Especially one who is Republican?
The unlawful use of violence and intimidation committed by a foreigner (such as a Muslim) especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
In the event the perpetrator is White:
The unlawful use of violence and intimidation committed by a mentally unstable American, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
In reply to embsallie
man,,, take a bow do!!
I here reading all the shifting and posturing and thats simply it.
pfffffft
In reply to nitro
Seems very familiar but they I don't think allyuh does call it terrorism..
In reply to embsallie
Indeed. It's all semantics. Stephen paddock killed at least 59 people. This is terrorism in my book because he terrified his victims. Americans should be more concerned about this form of terrorism. He did not come from Somalia or iran.
More American people are killed this way than by so called acts of terrorism. But Stephen paddock doesn't tick all those boxes of those with an agenda.
In reply to bravos
Like you din get d memo or wat?
Classification of terrorism is only when the killer is brown or black skin, with a non European name, specifically a "muslim sounding name."
White Christian is not capable of terrorist actions. It is referred to as lone wolf, mental or as Poster Black, an "Afro Guyanese" calls it, "stress related."
The Vegas shooter doesn't appear to be a terrorist. Terrorism requires a strong political motive and these fucks with political motives make sure we get their message by shouting a slogan or something of that sort.
A lunatic killer isn't necessarily a terrorist.
In reply to gvenkat
But he administered terror..in the purest sense of the word he's a terrorist..maybe not politically motivated but he brought terror with deadly effect.
In reply to Emir
Nah ah was just trying to see if ah coulda kick start he lil brain..
In reply to gvenkat
Correct. Terrorists, spread fear via a network of people, this guy didn't think he was going to live past this one act. And, it is politically motivated (terrorism) as you stated.
Can also have social causes, the fact of the matter is this, by doing such an act he performed an act meant to terrorise.
In reply to Runs
Dunno why they trying to redefine the English language to suit politics.
1+1 is 2 no matter how you twist it,fundamentally the man's a big terrorist, more successful than many politically motivated attackers.
In reply to bravos
Even folks on here are equating the act differently, as if it is somehow not as evil, unbelievable.
In reply to bravos
What was his motive? Either way semantics don't matter. This has more to do with gun violence than anything else.
By your logic, The west Indian fast bowlers of yesteryear administered terror with their bowling on the cricket field.. What should we call them?
In reply to Runs
It is just as evil.
You said it yourself, "the guy is crazy". It is not normal behavior, terrorists have an agenda to bring about change, if one dies, others will see it through.
In reply to Runs
Totally..
What they fail to realize that this social homegrown terrorism is much more dangerous than the outside politically motivated brand.
Doh worry they go twist up and make a new word fuh it and even give it an acronym..who knows maybe it's just 'affluenza' or even PTSD but certainly not an act of 'terror' as defined by THEM.
In reply to gvenkat
To me the semantics coming from everywhere else.
Yes they did..they definitely terrorized hapless opposition batsmen but terror in sport is far different to the terror we saw yesterday in Vegas..that would be the semantics free version... Hmmmm sad that you can't tell the difference..
All this because allyuh want to reserve that bit of genuine meaningful and indisputable English language to label a choice few, even ISIS must be in awe of that local act of terror, they have been put out of work and made to look incompetent by that terror inducing all American..
No matter the motivation the incident is of 'political' proportions and it succeeded in it's aim of delivering wholesale terror..
In reply to bravos
1 man injured, maimed and killed 600 in about 10 to 15 minutes. Peeps need to slowly digest that and give it some thought.
In reply to gvenkat
You seriously need to go check homeland security's definition of terror or what the Patriot Act defines as terrorism. You may be surprised at what u find.
In reply to bravos
No one is saying that he is not dangerous, in some ways, he is more dangerous because he is betraying the trust society placed in him to act like a normal person.
It's like having a driver license, society expect you to perform the normal task of driving on the road. So, when that trust is betrayed, we are all puzzled.
Hola...man all you rest up....a murderer ,a killer...someone that takes a life...a terrorist terrorises....but what does it matter...terrorists ,murderers.killers...are nothing more than scums of the earth....murders..period.

If not, the homie on the corner slanging drugs, and instilling fear in the whole neighbourhood is terrorising that area, right?
Nuff terrorist deh bout.
Does the NRA get labeled as supporting terrorism?
They actively fund, support, push for legislation and the proliferation in support of weapons clearly not intended by the 2nd amendment.
Why is it unpatriotic to seek gun control?
The NRA is too powerful as a member organization, politically, and only the brave can call it as a manipulator of the 2nd amendment for the benefit of weapon manufactures.
In reply to gvenkat
they are doing their utmost best to make sense so at this point any bloody thing that makes them place him in a category they will try.
FACTS:
WHITE MALE
AGE 64
MILLIONAIRE MULTI
GUN OWNER
NO PRIORS
Let them sort that out now....but I am ticked at the foolishness going on when everybloody body else would have been categorised as something ELSE.

two prominent Bajans were overheard saying...
Damn it...HE should have killed 500 and wounded 50...cause nothing seems to be getting through to these gun loving people...
I couldnt un pick my teeth of course but since Sandy Hook and nobody cared to budge...I had given up since then..
That place is run on FEAR and thats what Trump understood from Day one.

Doh study dem,dey hata write a whole new political dictionary for them..
Why does it matter if its called terrorism or not? You skunts need to discuss the bigger issue at hand
In reply to gvenkat
A Hindu terrorist loose on the message board!?
In reply to gvenkat
Terror is brown....virgine for you
mental issues is white....no virgine for you
In reply to gvenkat
You really dont understand the issue. It is the same issue that leads to unarmed black men getting killed by police, Latinos being illegally stopped and detained, and people that look like you being abused by John public
It is why football players are sons of bitches and tiki torch carrying white supremacists are fine people
In reply to Jabari18
Jabs, he won't get it, I offer this:
He comes from a culture that religiously accepts oppression as a normal way of life- he received it from the "higher caste" above him and he dished it out to others from the few "lower caste" below him.
In reply to Emir
I will not draw the conclusion on his religion (I know you crafted the sentence to be able to say you are not saying his religion) because the Hindus that I know and grew up with and those in my family do not subscribe to that class structure.
In reply to CITYBOY
As long as we keep following religious books with such devious teachings killing will always be an option. Maybe if they wrote the story differently killing wouldn't even be a thought.
The primal instinct of killing continues to be a main feature of the bible, like I said before as a kid my first encounter with violence and realization that it was a valid option was at Sunday School. Picture a world indoctrinated by Confucius or Plato instead of books of barbarism genocide and fragmentation.
Humans have far progressed beyond such books but they remain a monkey on the back of real human progress.
In reply to bravos
Actually the fight for wealth and resources will always continue. The charge now isnt for god it is for freedom. When trump and Kim destroy the world it wouldnt be for religion. It will be because humans are an evil virus in this beautiful planet.
Think about the current lack of resources to feed the globe. Now think about 50 years in the future at our current rate of expansion and use of resources. Why do you think people will be killing each other then.
In reply to Jabari18
I am assuming you are referring to a "shortage of food." if so, know there are no food shortage in this world, the world has more food the we ever had. The problem is of of uneven distribution of food which causes hunger in some parts of the world and too much food in other parts of the world which lead to wastage.
In reply to Emir
Whether the scarcity is due to distribution or not there is the scarcity.
In reply to Jabari18
No Sir, its not scarcity, it is uneven distribution- it cannot be scarcity because we have more than enough food to feed the whole of humanity, the reason why so many go hungry is certain places is because of uneven and or inequitable distribution of the global food network- the reasons for this is a different topic.
In reply to Emir
Not really sir. What you think happens when resources are severely inequitably distributed? What happens when the have nots want to get from the haves. And even worse when the haves are greedy. Also note the regions of the world with the fastest population growth and the resources available to them. And also note the effect of climate change on global food production
