Since no one is interested in this thread other than you...I'll take the bait:

"In his past 11 test innings Chanderpaul has scored just 183 runs and he failed to pass 50 in the recent three-test series against England."

Chanderpaul had suffered a “rapid” decline in form and as a result, they had decided to look to the future.
This decision, Lloyd said had been communicated to Chanderpaul in a letter.
“Over a period of time, we have noticed a decline in his form and for the last 11 innings he has been averaging 16 and we thought the time had come to look towards the younger players, and that’s why he has been omitted.
His decline in form has been quite rapid,” Lloyd explained, while flanked by newly-installed head coach Phil Simmons.
“I just don’t think it is the last couple of games that he has failed, this is going way back. I watched the games against India, South Africa and he hasn’t done as well as we expected.”

When Everton Weekes and Clyde Walcott walked away from cricket they were the best in the world age 32 and 31.

become a full-time coach, write your memoirs.

He is still not a Michael Jordan, that can take over a game.
If we were winning, a 42 years old Shiv, will still be leading the youngsters

You are always with this LAME argument

Which current international team depends on ONE batsman....and that ONE batsman is winning games for them....you can go back 20 years if you want

And any 39 years old player, on a losing team would be the first to go, especially a team that has been losing for a decade
If the West Indies T20 team was losing, fans would be asking for Gaye and other seniors heads also
Narp, if this team was winning, Shiv would be part of it.
It is his age and losing, the reason for Otis and Phil coaches asking him to retire
