We have to be careful of "journalist" who put out misleading stuff because they are favored by CWI.
HE MUST KNOW THAT BRAVO HAS A BPL CONTRACT, BLACKWOOD WOULD HAVE BEEN ASKED TO GIVE UP HIS.
The concern here should be if this same squad will be used for New Zealand or if CWI will try to get the likes of Lewis and Bravo to end their BPL stinks early in time for the first Test in New Zealand starting on November 30th. All depends on how certain players perform in Zim.

Bravo is already star and seen as one of the best active cricketers in the region. West Indies cricket (as a team) is so worthless now, by not selecting him it has no influence on his favoribility and credibility

Without your best players this is what happens.

Cause and effect.

Man, you don't understand CWI recent strategy. It goes something like this:

(1) Don't play good batsmen - like Bravo(s), Gayle, etc. This sets low achievement expectations, so that when a WI batsman finally scores a fifty after about a dozen innings, everyone proclaims him the next great batsman, and the captain gets to talk about the "positives"!

(2) Don't play good batsmen. They make the new batch of WI batsmen look bad and remind us that WI cricket is much worse off under current administrations.

I think Darren B isn't really interested in dedicating himself to playing CWI cricket anymore, anyway. He wanted the standoff with Big Idiot to end, so that he could get on with his cricketing career as he sees fit.

Another proper Test batsman, Darren Bravo seems to be waiting to make a comeback after his suspension.
Through Johnny Grave and Jimmy Adams we have tried to open the door for Darren to come back. With amnesty in place the door has opened a lot quicker. We did everything to entice him back for the England tour, which he quite rightly sat back and made his own decision to opt out of. We would love to have Darren back in the side because he is a class act. I have not spoken to him personally, but the talks that the CEO and Jimmy have had, they were encouraging signs.

Darren had a CPL contract which paid him more than he would have rec'd from touring England. HE IS NOT A "BIG IDIOT" so he played CPL, no brainer, easy choice.

Darren has a BPL contract so does 15 other West Indians. BPL pays more than test cricket, another no brainer, he is not on central contract, see where that "C contract" offer is continues to be a bad decision, unintended consequences.

STOP BLAMING BRAVO IF HE EXERCISES HIS OPTIONS WHICH STARTED WITH THE C CONTRACT OFFER, ADMINISTRATORS ARE ALSO ACCOUNTABLE WHEN THEY USE THEIR "JUDGEMENT" TO PUNISH.

Right and we have a other problem. The new contract period begins shortly. They probably won't offer him a contract since he hasn't played for a year. That will cause issues

He not going to accept the C contract.
Unintended consequences when you seek to punish the talent and talent responds in ways you don't expect and the international law is not on your side.

Remember Warrican and Leon Johnson, men on retainer contract and cannot make an A team that is leadership and visonary.

Again, Bravo was given poor advice by his lawyers, u cannot curse your boss in public and remain in the company even if your boss is a 'big idiot'.

Don't go back there, that been resolved and both men said their thing and it is on to the next stage.

WOW...thank you for pointing out what i been trying to explain to people on here..once the administators start with these pissing contests..the "stars" can never lose..only the product suffers..and the fools would do well to recognize this..and offr the man the contract he deserved in the first place..

Or you can do your own research on all the players who have had "tiffs" with WICB and are available to franchises more than they are to WI cricket

Not really...it's clear that Bravo has come out ahead...he's rested, richer, and has options.

What has the CONTROL BOARD (or CWI if you prefer), gotten out of the 'ordeal'? (check the run tally for Bravo's replacement on the test team and therein lies your answer.)



So Bravo has opted to not play...it appears he's making more $$ not to.
