Let Vix tell you what the food importation bill is for T&T

This current Guyana gov't is going to KILL sugar and Rice...for oil

T&T would tell you....you can't eat oil...prices of oil will continue to fluctuate making budgeting difficult for national development

T&T gov'ts for donkey years now trying to encourage diversification away from the heavy dependence on oil....and not succeeding....oil prices low....T&T in trouble

but Souljah bai if putting all his eggs in the oil basket

The food importation bill is over 8 billion for T&T.

How can one feed its own people if one has

poor road infrastructure, electricity, and water cannot get to help farmers.

"There is doubt with regard to agriculture, the Finance Minister has spoken with a forked tongue, claiming to be giving incentives to the agricultural sector, while allocating the sector the least amount of money in the budget and in fact, less than last year," Maharaj said.

In their budget wish list, the NSA had called for the allocation of proper subsidies for the continued development of residential and agricultural sites owed to ex-Caroni (1975) Ltd workers among other items. However, he said Imbert failed to even address the lack of access road, crossings, water supply, irrigation and other issues.

During the boom years instead of diversifying dem built big buildings, and had
World class meetings. Farmers from Tobago cannot get crops to T&T we didn't upgrade the
ferry system nor the air bridge. We built homes on the plains when it rains it floods.

We received over 90 billion dollars from two Oil and Gas booms. It all gorne
owing to lack of due diligence and bobol.

Now dem want tourists, any country that realizes on tourism is nuts.

T&T is a failed country, unfortunately, done in by elected morons.

BTW...is Dinas in PNM back pocket?

Azim Bassarath, president of the T&T Cricket Board, has lashed out at government’s amount to sports, saying sports in T&T can no longer tighten its belt.

“We have been tightening our belts for the past three years, but now we are out of holes to tighten it further,” Bassarath said and pointed to the current murder rate of 371 so far this year, which he believes can only be reduced getting young people into sports. He took a swipe at Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Darryl Smith for what he said was an unfulfilled promise that he would do more for sports financially before the budget.

Atlantic LNG and Point Lisas can be moved to Guyana at any time.

It is all owned by foreign multinationals as the taxpayers of T&T
footed the bill for it.

The Government allowed these companies to claim total write off in 5 years
rather than amortizing it over 15 years. Now they can boost the cost of
maintenance and upgrades after, thus denying the Citizens of T&T the profits.

Repsol had an agreement to ship the gas to Spain but sent it to Japan and China
at 4 times the price.

If a company signs an agreement with the Government of Guyana and your
government will not make it public, you can find out the terms very easily.

Check and see if that company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange,
If it is, write to the NYSE, it must be public knowledge or the NYSE will delist them.

sgtdjones 2017-10-05 14:06:33

BPTT is likely to be the company most affected by the decision of the government to impose an across-the-board royalty charge on the extraction of oil and gas. This is because all the other gas companies have production sharing contracts (PSCs) that are protected from this move and, for a long time, there has been a 12.5 per cent royalty tax on oil and condensate...

That's how much your government most likely will get. 12.5 %

Narper 2017-10-06 13:57:39

The oil field is located 190 km off of Guyana's coast.

Part of the oil field lies within the Essequibo region, which is claimed by Guyana's next door neighbor Venezuela as being within its territorial sovereignty in a decades long dispute.

The US$4.4 billion project is expected to be finished by 2020, when it will begin producing around 120,000 barrels of oil per day.

Souljah Bai will mek sure he wins next election wink

Bo Rat and his vultures eyeing de oil money too

The vultures had money to keep the economy growing. They never resorted to closing down industries and putting people out of work.

Its counter intuitive, if granger and his boys are not thiefing, why is money lacking? Jagdeo and his boys theif and end up with more money to run the country?

Mind you, I am asking these things, not defending.

You know they dragged Bharat and Co in front of SOCU/SARU many times, there is DEA in Guyana, those guys should be rotting in jail if that was so, I would think.

When I look how Granger and Co spending the money, its things that have no economic returns, eg

1. Durban Park.

2. 1001 commissions of inquiries, hiring their own boys for large fees and then ignoring the reports of said inquiries.

3. Sole sourcing drug contracts and storage to their own people. At least when bharat and co sole sourced drug contracts they got the storage for free.

Yep have seen it all my life what the trickle down can achieve, and know T&T going to benefit big time,a lot of that oil is going to be refined here also...many already benefitting from exploration contractors, equioment contractors, helicopter services to professionals and other personnel etc..

I don't know what Jones has against T&T...coming in a forum about Guyana and saying T&T is a failed country..

What will he say about Guyana when it suits his agenda?

Talking about infrastructure, has he been to T&T recently ?

Don't have time for that kinda bullshit...

T&T has been here before and it was business incubation strategies and programs to encourage manufacturing and export that got us through,it is not by accident we are the leaders in the Caribbean in manufacturing and export of goods.

Everyone is up to the challenge and its national unity that always gets us through.

Forget govt and politics many buainesses are focusing keenly on manufacturing and export and there are programs being developed to facilitate this guided advised and presented by NGOs..

You live in some world that doesn't exist

T&T had two oil booms and some people doh have water, roads or electricity.

People are protesting about roads and burning debris weekly.

That's poor infrastructure. You must have a stupidity problem

If you can read or get someone to do it for you read the links below.

I am in T&T every 6 months

Protest over bad roads, no water

Chatham residents beg for help Fiery protest for water

Los Iros farmers are now accusing state officials of facilitating a massive grab for beachfront property in their community.

The lands were supposed to have been given to farmers who have been cultivating short crops there for over 50 years, despite the fact that there is not a proper water supply, electricity or proper roads.

Those issues in rural areas aren't unique to T&T,are they failed countries too..

You calling my country failed because eif that...we are young country still growing and experiencing growing pains.

So according to you I'm a failed citizen of a failed country and I say its all bullshit political agenda talk..

A big part of the booms went into fuel subsidies and all the freeness enjoyed for decades, tings a lil tough and everybody bawling now.

You can never represent T&T..your job is to look for cheap political points..to that I say fuck PNM and fuck UNC..

No need to reply you're a cartoon man..calling one of the most liberal, tolerant and free countries in the entire world a failed country proves that..a country that was the first to offer universal education from early childhood to tertiary,a country that was recognized as a top leader in the empowerment of women .

You coming on Guyana thread to paint a picture about T&T is even more telling..

You must suffer from ADD

If you read the thread and looked at the question Narper asked I responded.

You paint a picture of this Paradise, where people live in shacks, and their homes are flooded out with a rainstorm, so now they are in rural areas .

An island approx 40 by 40 miles ..got over 90 billion and people living in
poverty.

I post facts and you make some ludicrous excuse.

T&T don't need representing, it shows itself as a failure by clowns who will lead it down the path to poverty in another two years .
MORE than 20 per cent of the population are living below the poverty line in Trinidad and Tobago while eight to 11 per cent are reported to be undernourished—despite this country’s high-income status.

a country that was the first to offer universal education from early childhood to tertiary,a country that was recognized as a top leader in the empowerment of women .

You need to get out of that chicken coop ya living in there is a real world outside
that you need to discover.

Outrage at PM’s comments on domestic abuse...
T&T’s women feel betrayed

Statistics from Victim and Witness Support Unit of the T&T Police Service show that between 2005 and 2015, almost 300 women were killed as a result of domestic abuse, while there were some 7,000 reported cases of domestic abuse between 2008 and 2015.
