Congrats indeed young man. I hope you will be one of the real ones.

Courtney Browne cannot deny him any longer, else it will clearly show that he has an incurable bias against Windward Island players, especially from St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Congratulations Indeed to Sunil Ambris
However Do not Rest on Your Laurels .

YOU NEED TO CONTINUE WORKING HARD ON

YOUR GAME . THERE ARE MANY OBSTACLES

IN YOUR WAY , SO YOU HAVE TO WORK 3

TIMES HARDER THAN ANY OTHER PLAYER IN

THE REGION .

Remember that You aint have a Godfather in SVG ; the Windward Islands ; the Regional Selection Committee ,& the WICBC/CWI et al .

If you dont believe me , look at how
you were treated despite making over
200 Runs in a match in the Region .
Many in this Forum selected various Teams , and you were Invisible to them .

Buy a Bowling Machine and do like Chanderpaul , practise every day .
Talk to Manning Jackson & Michael Findlay I have no doubt that they will be willing to help You .

Veracity 2017-10-12 16:08:47

Thank You Sunil A. for continuing what you started - what you did; is how you build a resume that cannot be over-looked.
Good luck in the future.

What you should have done is checked the regional stat before posting because one other batsman scored a double.
WICB PROFESSIONAL CRICKET LEAGUE REGIONAL 4 DAY TOURNAMENT, 2016/17 / RECORDS / MOST RUNS

BTW, congrats young man, thats the way it is done

Ambris will do just fine.

Of course that is dependent on whether VOR shows up with his now legendary goat-mouth or not. wink

The stats I posted are this year's Regional 4-day tournament batting stats.
If you understand or can read it, you will see Shai Hope scored 215 not out
Name Young batsmen

Sunil Ambris 24 Years
Shai Hope 23 years

This Year 2017?? You sure?? But then thats the point another person made while he was in England. Saying anyone who can score a double and 6 half tons in a season should be batting alongside S Hope who was selected under the same criteria.
Funny thing similar to Shai he Ambris had a 30ish start and not out too and similarly got the same kudos "looks comfortable" out there.

Cant say none of the above for Kyle.

Check the stats, I cannot edit it.
Two doubles were scored this year, Ambris 231 and Hope 215 not out

Not arguing jes reconfirming. Funny thing one is in the side and the other is made to double prove.

It is obvious you are not a true fan, but I posted the last few years of regional 4-day a week ago.
Allyuh get excited of a player performance after a season, then to discard when he fail.
Where is Johnson who scored almost 800 runs a few years ago?
You will be surprise to see the leading batsman the last 3 years, the selectors are close to getting it right.
Here is 2015/16, Ambris had a 21.75, Shai Hope 67.25
Regional 4 day batting stats 2015/16

Why am I not a true fan? I mean you can assume so by me asking a simple question? Or is because you know whether I watch or record and watch every game availble or not? Rather than be sarcastic or
insultive I stay cordial and discuss.
Never was a fan of Johnson and I posted about his weakness a few times here when others were shouting his name. Too susceptible just on or outside off hanging his bat without getting in line.
What you are showing is Shai Hopes breakout year and he was selected that year and when many were saying Lloyd was a fool I saw Shais first at bat in Test and said he had the goods. I did say it didt seem he relished openning and he needed to sit rather than be forced.
And so the 16/17 is Ambris' breakout season but a few with less are ahead of him.

POINT 2017-10-12 20:21:28

I find it very Interesting that despite his Double Ton , Ambris was hardly ever mentioned in Teams selected by Persons in this Forum .

That is the Freaking Point I was & am making . In essence that reeks of
many being Bias . Now this is a fact
not Fiction . Perhaps he was Invisible to many here & in the Region, obviously including those in the WICBC/CWI .

Ambris and his brother are well known in Barbados cricket

Sunil Ambris (St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Windward Islands)

I am not a selector, but I assume his performance over time at the 50 over format, gave him the edge over others, thats why he was selected for the tour of England.
If you are an honest fan, and want to look at the players selected to the test squad as batsman, they all had a number of consistent performances.

Ambris has a List A average of 54.42, last year was his best year at the 4-day level, scoring 608 runs with an average of 43.42, in comparison to 2015/16 scoring 348 runs with an average of 21.75.
Which of the batsman selected did he out performed the last 2-years?

tc1 2017-10-13 12:39:08

Your response seems reasonable, better yet Sebastian was a selector was the Windward, Baptiste is a fellow Dottie and Dowlin is a Muddie.

Ambris toured with the West Indies A team in 2014, so he was on the radar for some time, his performance this year, awakened some fans
Have you seen any posting of the guy with the most runs this year.
He is selected on the A team, with little fanfare.
His name is Yannic Cariah

your stats are a little confusing, u are reporting 2 stats in 2014,what about 15, 16 and 17 this would allow posters to view the history of the player.

The team left for England with three openers, why was Kyle Hope selected for any X1, when he was picked as one of the three openers?
Kyle caught the selector's eyes, by opening the batting and scoring runs for T&T the last two regionals, so why would you bat him at three or lower, that spot should had be given to Hetty.
He should had only be in the final X1, if one of the openers got injured
I believe the management got it right in the ODI only selecting him, when the injury to Lewis.
Lets hope they get it, by using him as the Back up opener to Kraigg and Powell, and select Hetty to bat at three.

Cornfused 2017-10-13 15:28:41

Congratulations Sunil Ambris, we all hope you continue on and hopefully become a Test batsman and contribute in other formats

Baje 2017-10-13 16:34:03

It is good to see that he has scored 4 centuries. Scoring centuries shows a level of concentration which is very important at test level.

BeatDball 2017-10-13 20:08:26

3 cheers for sunil...WI need a dominant batsman from the 'small' islands....we pray that you accord selection to the senior team and to just cement yourself when you get there...that's all.
