Stumped in both innings? Are you kidding me?

WTF is wrong with Blackwood????
In reply to Larr Pullo
Nothing! This is how he plays wrong style, wrong format. A wasted selection in the test team in my opinion. ODI/T20 is more his style not Test. Selectors think differently.
In reply to azadtnt
yup. Very puzzled he was not in the one day and t20 teams.
In reply to azadtnt
He has the best SR in the team among batsmen
In reply to Chally1
Why should Blackwood play in limited overs? Is it because he's a cowlasher and he looks more suited to ODI'S?
His List A record is beyond pathetic. Blackwood shouldn't be representing the Waste Indies senior team at any level.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Can Blackwood bat?
Head nuh Good! However, if Kyle stays ...
In reply to Devin
I believe that he can be a useful player in our team. He has some tools...
In reply to Larr Pullo
There is some actual talent around the region, I don't look at him as part of that group. If you're playing as a #5 or #6 batsman in this team, and you don't bowl, then you sure as hell better be averaging close to 50.
I haven't seen him bat in a while, but I'm certain that he has made no improvements since his debut. He also doesn't score runs at the domestic level in any of the formats.
Like to see Hetymer play at 6 instead of Blackwood. Blackwood just looks like a chancer,
i doubt he has much of a long term test future.
In reply to Devin... guess they had to select a Yaadie.
In all fairness to Jermaine, these are very tough conditions. I have no problems with his dismissals in this match. When you are as short as he is, these conditions can be troubling.
In reply to mittheimp
I never did see the hype about Hety..but quite frankly..he can be no worse than Blackwood...Blackwood has just been lucky to come in at 6 rather than at 3...where a real top bowling attack exposed Hety badly
Blackwood is a good player. A little too aggressive for his own good but has already played some useful innings for us.
In reply to brians_da_best
Hety playing next test and Hety and Ambris going on the next tour!
In reply to WestDem
Unchanged for next match
In reply to WestDem
Kyle will be dropped I think. Dropping Blackwood doesnt make sense.
Ambris for dowrich
In reply to brians_da_best
Why should Kyle be dropped?...on this difficult wicket...the 43 scored in this inning should be enough fuh him to play in the second test.
In reply to WestDem
Yes but hes failed every innings and then a 43 shouldnt be enough to stay on. Also he didnt look entirely convincing either
In reply to Chally1
Because he doesn't score runs in those formats!
In reply to brians_da_best
It's that easy to come in and be a wicketkeeper batsman eh? Alyuh ent learn anything from Dowrich?
Better they had left Ramdin as the keeper and bat him at eleven if necessary!! He would have looked like a real good number 11 bat!!!
In reply to DIEHARD
you do realise hetymar is just 20?
In reply to Larr Pullo
If the criteria is to be a good 11, then dowrich looks the part too
In reply to brians_da_best... no, Dow look like a old time # eleven. Ramdin would revolutionize the position.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Silliest thing I've ever seen. I like him. Have been watching him from his school days. But he needs to think some more about his batting.
In reply to mittheimp
What does his age have to do with me not seeing anything special in him that's commensurate with how people carry on on this MB.
Shiv debuted at 19..and looked the part...Tendy was 17..I believe.
Kraigg had tons of centuries...Hety played two good shots..and everybody jerking each other off on here...I don't get it
In reply to DIEHARD
Regular played at 16
In reply to jballer84
At test level?
In reply to DIEHARD
7 Tests before turning 17.
In reply to Andy99
Oh i completely misunderstood jballers post..thanks for clarifying.
Still waiting on the imp to explain why Hety's age is relevant to my observations
In reply to DIEHARD
Kraigg had tons of centuries...Hety played two good shots..and everybody jerking each other off on here...I don't get it
This is not true....speak for yourself!!!
Some of you guys are like Drumpf..Zigzagging ..All over the map on Blackwood..Yet again some like a Tick..Just cannot wait to latch on to a player with a low score..What was his average in Hingland?
In reply to buds
37?
With one fifty plus score in 6 innings?
no defensive play...nothing to trust when he cannot lash
so this
In reply to doosra... then laash it, don't run paas it.
In reply to natty_forever
mi a dead!!!
In reply to Larr Pullo
He need a good rest. Still haven't learned his lesson.
In reply to methodic
I thought he got enough rest for the Pakistan series.

....and KH?
Btw,his 49 was more important than lots of "fifties" and even "tons"
In reply to DIEHARD
Yup.

That quote made sense to u
Keep holding onto your BleakWood while dissing Bishoo..
In reply to Larr Pullo
Why are you surprised. That's how he plays all the time.
In reply to brians_da_best
A few lucky innings! His mental preparation isnt in place for test especially at 5 or 6 where he is expected to settle the innings. To be honest he shouldnt even be in the squad.
In reply to azadtnt
IMHO, Blackwood doesn't have the defensive technique to forge a long Test career. I think he's a mediocre Test batsmen.
However, I believe he has the potential to be a good T20 player. He didn't get a chance to play in the CPL last season, but next year I hope he plays a full CPL. It could be his break-out year in T20 cricket. I look forward to that....
He might serve us better in the T20 side than in the Test team.
In reply to Cleg
Yep..way more important
You play forward defensive to a leg break and get stumped? Really! He didnt know where his right toe was based on the initial stance he took? Clueless & brainless! Must be an issue about his education or lack there off. He is smart like the selectors. NOT!
In reply to DIEHARD
he looks like he has a lot of potential to me.
Amir made him look a bit daft - i think he has too much confidence but
from what i have seen he looks a very exciting player.
Interesting discussion. Somebody got to give way for Hety soon though. My bets on Blackwood. Less pressure o Hety coming at 6. Can score quickly with the lower order like Blackwood. but unlike Blackwood, this boy can really bat.
Potential future windies cappo to boot.
K.Hope only holding the fort until Bravo get his his together and retake his spot.
Would then have a nice mix of left and right handers throughout the top 9 though i still have a dream that Evan Lewis could be converted to a test cricketer... not sure Powell will go the distance.
If Ambris can actually keep Dowrich days numbered but hard to toss out Dow when i remember his debut innings in Dominica vs Oz...was there for that match and match saving and winning innings vs India and Pak.
Maybe he is better suited at # 3. Ball coming on to the bat, he might be able to rustle up a quick 50.
He has good eyesight, good reflexes and can actually bat for long periods.
Poor temperament, poor technique. rushes of blood.
In reply to buds
Again does the above make sense to u, only 2 yardies would post that shoite.

The same can be said about the post immediately above yours.

He is in the side at the moment. He is playing at the moment. When batting at #6, the shine is gone, conditions are easier and even average batsmen can consistently make 40's and 50's.
Now Blackwood doesnt appreciate the advantage of batting at #6, so if you continue to play him, then it might be best to send him at #3, where is adventurousness against the new ball might pay off, and then have someone at #6, who might be able to cash in, in easier conditions.

Why are you attempting to solve a problem with a problem?
You are trying to resolve the consequence of a problem.
Deal with the problem head on mate.
Bullshyt bout wrong format. Any format he going out like a clueless one.
In reply to Logic
Four slots are up for grab;
Opener
#3
#6
Wicketkeeper
Everyone can see Ambris is a batsman, it is up to him if he also want to wicketkeep.
I will not wait for Darren Bravo, Hetty at three
Ambris at six
Ramdin at seven
In reply to azadtnt
Uses his feet too much.
Too many on Planed shots.
Been saying that even when he made those few runs.
In reply to Larr Pullo
He really showed you this time.
J Blackwood c Cremer b Sikandar Raza 5 (13b 1x4 0x6) SR: 38.46
Well...at least he never get stumped
In reply to DIEHARD
Cyah bat. Has developed a poor habit of planning shots and then trying to avoid getting out.
YOU cyah bat like that. Too mamy risks. He has to play laterq ala the great Lara.
Do these kids look at the masters for videos for extended periods, they are all on you tube.
