In reply to Narper
true
but still frustrating
In reply to Narper
I agree.
Grind it out and then up the tempo later on.
In reply to Narper
powell for example cant get a full toss is a gap but then he gonna look to attach down the ground off a good ball
In reply to Narper
If you can't dominate against this side then what. It was embarrassing the way SL A beat up Windies A in the Caribbean. Don't like that all three matches were played in the yard, if this is the next level then players need to be exposed to differing conditions.
boring
In reply to openning
Understand why no one wants to buy the coverage.

Paint did improve his SR in England....Spin is the problem

Cremer to Kraigg Brathwaite, out Caught by Masakadza!! That's a beautiful ball to get Kraigg Brathwaite. Bowls the sharp leg break that bounces, and Kraigg Brathwaite ends up fending it to the slip in place.
Kraigg Brathwaite c Masakadza b Cremer 32(160) [4s-2]

You cannot stay out there all day and poke.
I am a Kraigg fan, but you have to try and get on top of the bowler.
I am not liking Powell or Kraigg approach to this inning.
wow 26 overs for 30 and then out
In reply to openning
Totally agree...too much negative batting...you shutting shop from ball one...wasted effort!
In reply to openning
Powell especially has taken it to the extreme.
I remeber when he started as a 16 year old in the Stanford T20 tournament in 2006....he was very aggressive...and over the years which followed
BUT now....he knows a lil 30 or 40....REGARDLESS OF SR...will cement his place in the WI team
In reply to Narper
Imagine regional cricket Bdos playing against WWI and there is commentary....
Up comes flingforward and pelts to Kraigg, and he paints it down to his shoe.
Repeat six times and the over is completed.

mi hear seh when kraigg get out di dawgs dem come back to watch di cricket
In reply to ponderiver

What are you complaining about? This is the brand that we have developed over the years and we cannot sell that product at 2 for 3 cents.
No one wants to pay to see our brand of cricket and this is what CWI's focus should be...developing world class players...the focus should not be on selling merchandise.
Anyway, I have never rated snail as a top class batsman. And his batting partner is a tortoise.

No. Sorry. Don't give Test cricket a bad name. This is CRAP cricket.

positive cricket makes a big difference
... well we crawling first.
In reply to natty_forever
that's what we got to learn to do crawl before we can walk and run
In reply to positiveg
In that case, Zim is better than WI. They crawl faster.
In reply to tops
WI winning this game
2 days to go
In reply to tops
Crawling faster but not further
Although it was painful to watch...the 100 odd run lead and that comment above..puts it in context.
Kudos to the openers..
I can appreciate the nuances of test cricket.
I didn't actually watch the passage of play, so i dont know if they did indeed show the bowlers too much respect.
But mission accomplished, the lower order capitalized on the worn down ball and bowlers.

If you check the FC batting averages of all the squad Singh @32 Ambris @31 amd Brooks@ 30 are your top batting averages...this is really a piss poor batting line-up.
In the one day three match series starting today Ambris @ 54.52 in List A and McCarthy @37+ and Jacobs bowling @ 19 represents a stronger batting and bowling lineup.
This A team comes in a transitional period...Players who would do better like experienced Devon Smith,Edwards,Ramdin,Carter and Fudadin seem to be discarded while the upcoming potential stars like Jangoo,Jones,Keemo Paul, Cato, Brandon King have now started their FC careers.
In reply to analyst-kid
The Windies are incapable of producing and developing batsmen. If you are not a born prodigee like a SOBERS/lARA, you are doomed.
The few real potential that show up once in a while never seem to get the nurturing needed.
Meanwhile countries like India are hatching batsmen like an old hen. We so dunce we can't even copy right.
