We up 1-0 in a two match series. The guys looking to grind the Zimbabweans and make a big first innings score. The score is 78 for 1 and people complaining we batting too slow???! Yes it's not the most attractive cricket you will ever see but it's Test cricket!
Couple years ago we would be ending a days play 50 for 3 or 4 so this type of application at the crease is very refreshing.
Let the guys stick to the plan and bat till the cows come in

You don't play for a draw on the second day of a test match.
That type of batting, keep fans at home, and reduced viewership.

Thats not playing for a draw that is grinding your opponent down. Get a big first innings score and put yourself in a position to dictate the game.

Do not try to study the misleading rhetoric by some uncouth on this MB. They are the minority who have an "axe to grind "no matter how some players perform, good or bad.

I am not entertained by people swiping and slogging and using all kind of ugly shots like scoops and reverse sweeps; I much prefer seeing guys use skills to negotiate a great swing bowler, spinner and so on over a significant time, win a game against the odds, or bowlers use swing, pace, cut, yorkers, bouncers and so on against very good batsmen. Seeing the competition between bat and ball that is not just luck and chance and swiping and slogging and pelting and all that. But I respect your preference if you like T20 more. You can have it all.

You missing the point. People complaining because this is Zimbabwe, the bottom feeder and the weakest bowling side on earth. They should be scoring at least 4 per over...

So because we playing Zim we gotta play T20? Did you watch these Test?? Men got de ball turning square from the first day. We don't need to entertain just stay at the crease and grind the opposition. The other batsmen to come will have it easier with tired bowlers to face.
You think after being in the field for 150 overs batting gine be easy?

The fact that you have to write in length and they still say it is you that is apparently missing the point indicates that it is just better to not say a word sometimes and shake your head at your screen in utter sympathy. For what it is worth, i feel your pain
