All I will say, is some of these guys should give way to Springer

BTW, why is Nurse playing 4-day cricket?

Agreed re Springer.

As I commented during the Jamaica franchise beat-down in the previous round, there is no 'national pride' on show with this franchise system.

Things will only get worse.

Not wet but it seem to have bounce and movement. Tonge was causing real problems.

granite 2017-11-01 13:24:56

Is this a joke,I feel it is.I always regard Bummers as the best cricketers in the Caribbean,I seriously thought it's a joke.If they get 100 it might be some problems for LI Hurricanes, when they bat later on. shock

voiceofreason 2017-11-01 13:39:33

Finish this off Fellas!!! Go for the jugular!

Saunders 24*

You still longing for Nurse?
That 45 runs is T20 batting, his bowling his T20 bowling.
He is bowling ahead of Williams, because he played at the International level, but he is a T20 cricketer.

analyst-kid 2017-11-01 16:39:04

Barbados attack needs Harding and Springer to replace Clarke and Williams knowing full well Brooks coming back in to replace Moseley.

I am giving Clarke to finish this match and see how he does though.

openning 2017-11-01 16:42:20

In reply to analyst-kid

Is Brooks going to open with Alleyne?

robbo 2017-11-01 17:49:13

In reply to analyst-kid

Clarke has bowled tidier than his first game but to be honest he looks innocuous to me... he's medium fast at best and doing very little with the ball.

analyst-kid 2017-11-01 18:46:12

In reply to openning

Brooks will play...at someone's sacrifice.

analyst-kid 2017-11-01 18:50:57

a defeat is always good for the Barbados' team...they are unaccustomed to defeat.

Leewards however, need to lead Barbados by 150 here to achieve victory....any lead less than 100 might bring Barbados back in the game knowing Leewards has to bat last.

analyst-kid 2017-11-01 18:57:19

In reply to openning

Williams is clearly the best spinner but Stoute doesn't believe it...Nurse has let down the Pride bowling so far

NURSE 6-0-41-0

WARRICAN 10-3-26-1

WILLIAMS 5-1-13-1

A captain who can't read the game or assess his players makes a big difference!

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 10:34:50

Leewards 144/6....31 runs lead.

Leewards needs to lead Barbados for more than a 100 runs...I do not expect Barbados to make less than 250 batting a second time.

Leewards cannot afford to be batting last and chasing more than 150

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 10:45:43

Williams opens the bowling this morning with Stoute and takes the wickets of overnight batsmen Bonner and Taylor.

voiceofreason 2017-11-02 10:57:47

161/6 looking at minimum 100 run lead fellas!

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 11:12:26

169/8 Williams 16-4-28-5

lead 56

voiceofreason 2017-11-02 11:14:22

Jeremiah Louis standing firm just needs some support to get this total to 200 plus. Come on Tonge.

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 11:22:34

Tonge run out....183/9

How do u rate the two left arm spinners Warrican as against Benn?

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 11:29:10

Shakeem Clarke has proved ineffective esp compared to the performance of Louis...he will lose his play next match.

positiveg 2017-11-02 11:45:49

Congrats Louis on your maiden half century
keep batting

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 11:53:27

I have seen this captaincy from Stoute time and time again....refusal to try other bowlers in the face of stubborn resistance...Holder does it too...not Kraigg...I rank Kraigg ahead of those two and Brooks above all of them.

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 11:55:20

I would daresay with the return of Brooks this is the last time Stoute will ever captain. Not that his captaincy is poor...he just lacks imagination and aggression.

How do u rate the two left arm spinners Warrican as against Benn?

Other than being leftie, Benn is far superior
Warrican reminds me of a Robot, it will be very hard for him to regain a slot, at the International level.

Tino just said it was disrespectful for the captain to take the newball, and bowled it ahead of Greaves and Clarke, it is unbecoming of a Barbados captain.

JR_Cool 2017-11-02 13:32:27

Leewards Tonge is wagging. B'dos 7-3 in trouble.

Pacy 2017-11-02 13:42:49

Tonge bowling like a dream with movement and bounce...

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 13:55:04

Leewards out batting and out bowling Barbados here.

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 13:57:32

Barbados is going take a lot of licks from its public here at 18/4 the Barbadian public is unaccustomed and intolerant of being treated like this and not even by test players!

Bimmers getting ah 2 for 1!

Gavin Tonge has 7 wickets for 15 runs in the match!

Tino putting real licks on Kevin Stoute and his captaincy.....real licks!

Andy99 2017-11-02 14:16:48

Stoute Captaincy not out there in the middle with bat in hand

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 14:54:26

In reply to Andy99

NO argument there. But today 10 and 11 stand up and put on a 50 run partnership and Stoute start the day, took the new ball without giving the young fast bowler Shakeem Clarke a bowl...then when he DID gave him a bowl,he took the wicket!

You know how much times I have this seen same scenario under STOUTE'S CAPTAINCY?

Tino Best was cussing Stoute for taking the new ball and bowling himself, a mere medium pacer and Ashley Nurse!

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 14:54:32

Re the Barbados batting....none of these batsmen avg over 30 in FC cricket...in fact Kirk Edwards STILL AVERAGES MORE THAN all of them at 35.00+ (31.00 in Test Cricket)

Last year or earlier this year Greaves was the best bat out of all these playing now.

Andy99 2017-11-02 14:59:04

In reply to analyst-kid

No arguments from me there.

Stoute seems to be always Bajans whipping boy. Stoute has done fairly well previously as captain.... certainly no worse than Kraig yet you are constantly harping on the guy. This is a weak line up and the result will be no different regardless of who is captain. The same Clarke you on about was taking some previous hammer in the previous match - not surprising then that he does not fill his captain with confidence. The guy looks pretty innnocuous... so he comes on and gets a lucky wicket and now your narrative is that its the captain's fault Barbados is in this predicament.

Time to stop moaning and bitching. Apart from the nine guys in Zim, you got Primus, Edwards and Mayers with other franchises, Brooks with A team and Chemar Holder on a stint in Oz. Obviously the team will be weakened. If you want to cuss someone cuss management for not taking the opportunity for giving Shemar Springer a look in. He probably doesnt bowl much slower than Clarke and can certainly bat "a bit"

No excuses, the reserves should be able to withstand force than the hurricanes had.

analyst-kid 2017-11-02 19:55:52

You know I studied what you said about Stoute.

When I analysed the former Bajan captains they all had something going for them....maybe the Bajan public has been spoiled

Sobers, Holford, Maxwell,Padmore,Lashley,Best, Greenidge,Haynes,Marshall,Garner,Roland Holder,Browne, Wallace,Campbell,Bradshaw,Hinds, Kraigg

they either led the way with the bat, with the ball or did both and were brilliant tacticians like Holford or Best.

Poor Stoute averages 29 in FC cricket...he is not even a FC bully like Ryan Hinds, Roland Holder,Lashley or Wallace.

His captaincy is not the reason Barbados was humiliated today...it was the batting...but he didn't go down fighting and leading the way like a Best or Ryan Hinds...I suppose Stoute because of his lacking in tactical skills and his average performance with bat and ball at FC level is the ultimate scapegoat.

voiceofreason 2017-11-02 20:01:08

9 wickets for Tonge Fu and J Louis. Well done. I hear some talking about missing first team players but Leewards missing Powell, Cornwall, Aljo, Montcin Hodge, and Hammie.

Well played Leewards that is our first win vs Bimshire in Bimshire in years.

Norm 2017-11-02 20:30:34

Darn! Leewards put a sound cut ass on Bdos like step-children!

Maispwi 2017-11-02 20:42:12

I don't know if you can compare previous captains to Kevin.
He is aware is job is a Temp, maybe his place on the team, thats why he took the newball and opened in the second innings
He is competing with the guys he is leading, for future selection on the Pride team
