Serious questions should now be asked about Holder's captaincy, I like the guy, he speaks well, he is a good ambassador of WI cricket, but he is too defensive in his strategies on the field. In the present Test match, the main goal is to take wickets quickly in order to win, yet he have his fielders on the boundary trying to save runs, I am surprise the coaches are not explaining what the main goal is.

Holder's captaincy
Captain Holder will be there for decades! He will continue to improve and make WI competitive.....stop alyuh bellyaching, nah!

I really couldn't understand Holder's tactics. You would think WI were under pressure they way he set his field. No slip? Really?
In reply to JamMack... happy to win the series 1-0 it seems.
Extremely poor, non imaginative, not proactive. Just happy to be out there nonleading I guess.
In reply to Runs Im getting the feeling that you have done a 180 degrees!?
Holder is the worst WI captain to date, not counting that period with Shiv.

I was on the fence with his captaincy, I like him in the side but want him to do more as a leader
For 2017 is 4 - 6 in the win loss dept. with a young learning team. A few more pieces need to develop.

Cannot fault Jason on this one.
The main goal was not to lose the series to Zimbabwe so drawing this second test seemed to satisfy that goal.

I heard that Kraigg and Driftwood bowled 27 overs between them on a last day pitch? So WI wasn't going for the win?
In reply to Priapus
driftwood or deadwood?
In reply to Runs
Sound like Shiv or sarwan as captain.
In reply to tc1
Cant fault him WI has been doing so poorly over the years, captains are happy to eke out draws.
I believe you have to go in with an aggressive mindset, believe in your players.
In reply to tc1... you tell us?

The WI was in a position where it would have took a miracle for them to lose, I could not understand why they did what they did. Like a Football coach once said in America, " you play to win the game ".
In reply to dayne
Miracles happen Dayne, so they decided to play it safe and be contented with a 1-0 series win.
The records will show WI won the series against Zimbabwe 1-0.
I can live with that.
In reply to Star... we have to live with that, don't like it tho.
In reply to dayne
Joe Root felt the same when he declared with lots of time left in the match and Windies defied recent history.
