Since Darren Bravo is not available and we need the experience and NZ do not have a world class spinner. I will carry Devon Smith to NZ and if Ramdin scores another I will take him and have him bat six. Ambris needs another season at the FC level not because he had one good season means that he should play. I like Laws policy of giving people extended runs in the team. Let Ambris feel slighted and go on to score hundreds this season instead of 50's. This will increase his hunger and strengthened his resolve. The same should be expected of Vishal Singh and Leon Johnson, Jonathan Carter and other. Further, this season we need to work on the rotation of strike which is a problem at all levels in the Caribbean.

Coach Law saying that the squad will be unchanged.

The mob can still blame CB
In reply to tc1... Law can Hope, CB has the last say. You need to stop it.
In reply to leman... for what?
In reply to natty_forever
why did you blame Otis as the culprit in the past, the coach did not get rid of Sarwan and Shiv, Taylor as well as Benn.
Last time I check they were 4 selectors.
7 yardies on the A team, 3 without any credentials, u credited Brown for this too.
In reply to leman
Another season for what?
Was Kyle Hope in need another season too?
Was Shai Hope need another season too?
Was Dowrich in need another season too?
Was Chase in need another season as well??
In reply to tc1... me blame Otis? However, remember Otis had more powers than most coaches up to that time.

Hola....leman.......you think up all of this by yourself???impossible...take a bow ..
For your info..Devon Smith is just tieing up another person's selection to first class cricket..just as how Shiv/Ramdin and quite a few more in regional teams are...we have zeroooooo foresight at selection at regional levels...the players I just mentioned are not in line for a WI call up...so why play them???

We need to start someplace and change the culture in the process. I am a Guyanese and if the best West Indian has 11 Bajans or 11 Trinis. I will support them. Ambris is not ready and neither is Hetymer and they need to wait a bit and create the hunger and develop their skills.
In reply to CITYBOY
Abject ignorance! How will the younger players test themselves if not against seasoned pros?
In reply to leman
Early season NZ wickets don't spin.
Williamson will open the bowling, come around the wicket, Devon will play for spin, and it will be over before it starts.

Lancashire don't think Shiv is holding up a spot.
Yes regional cricket is about feeding the test team and those gentlemen you listed are not in the plans for test cricket, BUT regional cricket is also tournament meant to be won at the end of the day.
In reply to CricketLuva4 & Runs
Williamson will open the bowling, come around the wicket, Devon will play for spin, and it will be over before it starts.
Devon SHYTE needs to stay right where he is or retire altogether.
If Gayle and Taylor could play for WI at that age, why not Devon at 36?
I see nothing wrong with picking him for the test series in NZ.
No changes?
Kyle Hope must be related to Courtney Browne.
The next time I read the Name Devon Shit,
I mean Smith, I'm going to puke.
Let him and Shiv stay where they are.
I'm sure they are not as bothered as some here.

In reply to thomasthomas... that's his level blood. FC bully!
In reply to CITYBOY
You obviously do not know cricket or follow the other established cricket leagues around the world. WI problem is that we get rid of experienced players from within our setup.Look at Shiv for example. The younger players learn from his vast knowledge. Essequibo which never won an inter-county championship won one this year with young players and Shiv. Your argument is flawed.
Congrats Smithy.

Congrats again Smithy.

In reply to thomasthomas... a having second thoughts as I feel DS would do better than KP.

Hola...if he was on the West Indies radar he would be in New Zealand....he has not retired so maybe he can try and kick down the door....he certainly will do no worse than those on the tour right now,
I will start now..Devo Smitty for WI..now...he has not retired.

Devon Smith is a regional bully. Nothing more. He had more than enough opportunities at international level.
Let him stay in the Caribbean and mentor the youngsters.
Invest in the current crop of young players and don't waste time going backwards.
Do you like what you are seeing in New Zealand?
