Kevin has done enough at the local level, to be part of the squad.
My belief is, has he gotten out of Barbados, and played league cricket or playing in T&T, like Hope, Primus and others, people would see more of his ability.
I like Richard

They are good regional players, that don't merit selection at the International level.
With most of the guys away, he will always make the Pride squad.

Frienism! Time past, let the youth play before he loses interest. Old boy network in full effect.
Others in the youths class already making their way regionally for their second year. Yet he have to wait his turn behind who again?

Will continue, names and who you are means a lot to some.
I am aware, he was injured last year and did not play, in as many games for the selectors to evaluate him, but looking at the history of our U19 performance at the WC level, he was one of the biggest stars, of the entire tournament.
He need to be selected, he should be playing.
Everytime I go to cricket, them people want me to go back to Canada, I used to be quiet before my mentor died, but I will be strong like COL Deane.

I don't know the reason for Reifer or Mayers selection, but Kyle Hope, Primus and Searles plays cricket in T&T.

It is Stoute's FC average as a bowler 119 wkts@21.80 that obviously keeps him there in the team.
Stoutes figures show a good FC bowler.
both Springer and Searles as evidenced in CPL show they have allrounder potential but obviously the selectors don't think they can unseat Stoute.
Mayers avg of bowling 19.84 and batting 21.80
Primus avg of bowling 18.76 and batting 33.66
Reifer avg of bowling 25.25 and batting 25.39
the other franchise players might all be better than Stoute too but they remain content on playing for their teams.

Kevin is a very good reserve player for the Pride, he is among the top batsman and bowlers in the BCA competition.
He has not done enough at the regional level, to merit a spot above that.

Dey only got to go to other franchises cause de pride didn pick dem.

The lack of a high class FC/test bowler in the team seems to have the selectors hesitant about playing a youngster in front Stoute.
Years ago back circa 1997 Franklyn Stephenson a high class FC bowler with over 750 FC wickets and 12 centuries was dropped for a young Anderson Cummins but the Bajan team already included a Malcolm Marshall and Ezra Moseley.
In my opinion Benn and Williams would make a formidable spin duo with no need for Warrican and/or Nurse. But Nurse just top scored making half the runs in the entire match.

Searles ave 20.00+ FC bowling ..has shown batting potential playing for Red Force...is a fast medium bowler to compare to Stoute being just medium and yet he can't crack a play in the Pride's squad!

How could Barbados forget their legacy set by allrounders...from Worrell to Depeiza to Sobers to Boyce to Collis King to Stephenson now even to Jason and Carlos...some allrounders can be match winners! Stoute at over 30 has nothing new to show but we don't know what Shamar Springer can do.

Stupid also in respect to the quickest young fast bowler in Bim. Kid have to sit at home for what? Barbados stodgy old timers need to step back and let this ship sail on. Glad someone came along and moved out the old guard and allow Kb, Chase, Dow and that crew to develop.

I agree that the selectors have engaged in some folly leaving out Springer. But I don't see why Bajans always have to make Kevin Stoute the fall guy every time. Contrary to being a friend pick Stoute has been unlucky to have not had more opportunities for Bim.
And I am sick of people going on about what his father said or did not say about his son. It should be irrelevant to his selection. Stoute has served well when he has been selected. Admittedly his bowling has not looked the part this year but the stats shoe he has had lots of good bowling performances for his country. He has never been a prolific scorer but has often had some key innings to get Barbados out of a bad spot.

Funny thing is that the same selctor mindset that seeks to keep Springer in his place.... waiting his turn....I same thinking that led to Stoute often being left out the team.... only then they were trying to put his old man in his place.

any regular Barbados player should be contending for a West Indies spot. Since Stoute is not contending then he is below par.
