Fired: After she gave Trump the middle-finger

ProWI 2017-11-06 23:46:28

A woman whose picture went viral after she raised her middle finger at Donald Trump as his motorcade passed her on her bicycle has been fired from her job.

Norm 2017-11-07 00:01:57

So, Trump caused this?

Or would you simply like to have others think so, as the subject line suggests?

ProWI 2017-11-07 00:43:56

Trump had NFL owners by the balls. Now you go figure how it works.

Kay 2017-11-07 00:49:07

She said the company was displeased she had used the image as her profile picture on Twitter and Facebook, and told her it violated social media policy and could hurt the company’s reputation as a government contractor.

Fair enough. I can see where her employer is coming from.....

You liberals just don't seem to get this:

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from its consequences

nitro 2017-11-07 04:42:43

In reply to ProWI

Our choices have consequences. That was a stupid decision by her to use it as her profile photo.

Your thread should be Fired for being Stupid!

As much as I support free speech, if any of our employees publicly (say via social media) insult a politician they gone...

It doesn't matter if it's UNC or PNM..

We cannot afford our firm to be seen as either political or profane.

Surely she knew the possible consequences of her gesture.

buds 2017-11-07 07:11:55

So why ya'll defending Lil Laura when he had a brain fart against his Employer CWI Dave CAmeron?? rolleyes

Social media claims another one.

She probably got a good severance package anyways.

That is sympathetic complicity of your employer and the political establishment. The two share a complicity that would be described as a fraternal association and wrong.

The middle finger has always been a show of contempt, not obscenity. "Woman middle finger Trump" - that's actually funny.

Fired: After she gave Trump the middle-finger

That wound is self inflicted.

If she were my relative, I would disown her.

I have seen supposedly smart people post and say the most appalling stuff on SM.
It is as if they want to get disciplined. One guy went after his union lol

This is the same thing Darren Bravo got into trouble for

Facebook seems to be an immature forum

I find it interesting that there is no retort to Jah Jah posting that is copied here – why, it does not serve your inclination?--- Drapser? -- Nitro?

So, because that woman in the Michelle Obama incident was re-appointed to her post, this woman should feel free to give the president (whomever he is) the finger and follow it up by making the image her 'avatar' on social media?

I know that I wouldn't be doing it.

I am questioning the disparity in response by you and nitro to reasonably similar offences against Michelle and Trump ---- not what the offenders respective employers did

Drapsey 2017-11-07 12:22:19

Now I take offence to your grouping me with nitro where matters of Trump are concerned.

I think that giving the president the finger is categorically out of order.

I said that I think so.

.

Not only that, employers react differently, one my see it a reason to be fired, others might not. Anyway, when people do these things, they should not be surprised how others react.

but calling Michelle Obama "an ugly black bitch" is totally within bounds?

Birdman, my response here is all out of respect for you.

No, the homan was out of bounds, to phrase things mildly.

However, because the double standards allowed her to get away with it does not mean that you (the finger woman) will be similarly lucky (or blessed as some would say). Moreover, giving the president the finger is unbecoming of anyone. My opinion anyway.
