More madness from Bim selectors

Logic 2017-11-07 10:07:27

Lets reflect back to our stellar under 19 world championship team and consider who were the standouts. My top six were:
1. Alzarri Joseph - current WI team squad member.
2. Shemar Springer - just cut from the Barbados team squad without playing a match despite Bim's humiliating 2 for 1 by LI.
3. Kemo Paul - Now a fixture in the Guyana 11.
4. Chemar Holder - Now selected for Bim....albeit on some Oz academy trip
5. Shimron Hetmyer - current WI team squad member
6. Keacy Carty - Now a fixture in the LI 11.

Carty and Paul have already made valuable contributions to the performance of the respective regional teams, yet despite Barbados having as many as 12 of the top cricketers unavailable for various reasons, the selectors can axe Springer, perhaps the most impactful player in that under 19 tournament. And even in the absence of a single pacer bowling above medium pace they can make no provision for the exposure of Holder to regional cricket.

Are the selectors so keen to uphold the Bajan tradition of keeping the force ripe fruit in its place ( a dark box), that they will ignore positive infusion winners can bring to a team, regardless of their age?

Crazy.

Keacy Carty is from St Martin and plays for the Leeward Islands. He is currently also our leading scorer so far for the new season. He is part of the Revo bro don't get it confused. And btw, he's been improving steadily since his u-19 days and is one to watch for the future. You heard it here first.

The Barbados bowling attack lacks penetration but as is the case with the Leewards, they need proof that it is weak.

bro don't get it confused.
. Sincere apologies bro. I may have had some uncertainty about the spelling of his first name but I know well that Carty is a LI player... the typo must of come from my cutting and pasting.... and I know too that he has done well at regional level since his elevation. That is my substantive point.

Good Ole BLIND BOY mentality in full effect. Bunch of the most scared folks in cricket. Bring back a group of 30 somethings instead of exposing young talent.

They are a number of clowns in cricket, but Springer could be a rising star.
His presents on the field while batting, bowling and fielding, was star like quality.
All I ask of him, is to ignore this set back and work hard.
Chose smartly between CCC and The Pride, your batting and bowling will get you selected, and remember, five other teams will be watching.

That seems to be a problem with Bim for years. If I remember right Fidel had to be plucked from nowhere by Lara. Roach got his chance due to a player revolt while he was still not selected for Bim citing his No-Ball problem. There was another standout performer in Bim Jason Bennett I think who got his chance more because of CCC than due to Bim.

The PCL is a great thing for BIM players as they get a chance to represent other regions.

So true and so sad.

Yet some argue for the likes of Stoute.
