At the expense of the young batter Ewart Nicholson, who did well in both matches. I am really disappointed with the selectors, they simply have no grounds to drop the young batter for Hope who has been thoroughly hopeless for WI.
The selectors need to clearly state their rationale- why was Kyle given preference; was it as a favor to the WI selectors to somehow try and get him back to form?
For the region to once again become aa force to be reckon with, one of the things that needs to be done is selection based on merit, not name or past reputation or even past form.
In all 3 counts, Kyle fails the test. Young Ewart must be wondering what next.
Shame on Gray and Jumadeen. Heck, Gray was a commentator during the last match, apparently he did not see a conflict, but at minimum, one expected better from him.

KYLE HOPE WALKS INTO TT TEAM.......
In reply to Emir... has he failed at this level?
In reply to Emir
Suppose he did walk back in as captain, remember he was captain part of last season........
chill and stop meeking noise over small things.............
In reply to cherri
He was a stand-in captain because JMo was with WI, Ramdin and the seniors were also not playing, Ottley(captain) had failed with the bat and was dropped so the only players with experience was Kope, Richards and Khan.
In reply to Emir
Rajah and Nicolson dropped, rubbish decision.
In reply to Emir
Of course he supposed to walk back into the team. Are you kidding me? The man played at the test level. Why wouldn't he walk straight into a team that plays a lower level of cricket? What kind of logic you using here boss?
In reply to aliaskid13
Well, a perfect example of the same thing happening, is what happen in the team south of Trinidad, some people had no problem with an ancient player walking back into a winning team and displacing young upcoming players.
In reply to Emir
He is a West Indies player he's suppose to walk back into a regional team. I see nothing wrong with this.
In reply to Ray123
IS??? He was a member of the WI team but was dropped because he couldn't perform.
In reply to Emir
I see you using Emir instead of facts
All the players, returning from International duties, will be playing this series, this thread is more insular, than having a base for discussion.
In reply to runout... He was a member of the WI team but was dropped because he couldn't perform at the highest level, but was selected because of his performance at this level.
In reply to natty_forever
In reply to tc1... I am wondering if he prefers to play ODIs, he did look "not too bad" in an innings I saw in England.
In reply to natty_forever
Kyle do not have a great defense, he is a good club cricketer, he will struggle at ODI too.
In reply to tc1... guess we may never know, as there is now Hety and Ambris ahead of the pack.
In reply to natty_forever
I think it was Ramdin that recommend who should be dropped and be replaced by J Mo and Hope...
In reply to WestDem
Cussbud
Ramdin has no say in selection.
So now Kyle comes and bus a couple of hundreds...just for the sake of argument.
Do the selectors draft him back into the team?
In reply to runout
Do the selectors draft him back into the team?
No.
Any more questions?
In reply to openning
Agreed. Were it a trini player would he have said the same.
unlikely.
In reply to WestDem... Go Cappo!
In reply to Emir
If you don't want Hopey please return him to Bim. We could certainly use him.
In reply to Logic
Preach bro.
Some messages here are amazing.
It just boggles one's mind.
A test player gets drop from Senior duties,
and some rasshole ediott hey sey he should not play.
In reply to natty_forever
Selection should be based upon merit, the young man dropped was performing well. Kyle should fight for his place and no one, except for the very best, should be automatic picks
In reply to Ray123
So I respect your opinion but I disagree. I prefer selection based on merit. He should be made to prove his form in club cricket.
The young man dropped was doing well
In reply to Andy99
I forgot Rajah. I wonder how these youngsters will develop if they are dropped just to make way for other established players.
In reply to Emir
Can you name one International player, that has not returned to his state or county club, after being dropped at the International level?
BTW, I understand yout ignorance, to bring names up, you will blame the selector for dropping the player.
So post like this needs to be ignored.
In reply to Emir
Do your argument make sense to you, or you are just been insular.
In reply to tc1
I actually lost a post just a minute ago calling his arse a farce and denine many Pressure cooker moments, maybe with all the shootings recently, we need to give dem pacifiers on this MB !

In reply to doosra
He regularly test the pavilion
In reply to doosra
A tset player you say? big grin
I just picked this up, i see the joke, nice one
Kyle Hope done gone a half century already and making the batting look easy. And some fools on here felt some type of way because he walked back into the team? This message board full of armchair cricketers yes.
In reply to Emir
Emir my brother the man is a WI test player. He has to walk back in and two good scores is a low bar. He has to continue making good scores.
In reply to leman
Bro you serious???? Did you not see this man looking clueless over and over again?
What will convince you that he can't cut it????
In reply to runout
maybe he can't quite cut it at the test level. but there's a huge gap between test cricket and our first class cricket. And he is and should be good enough to do well at this level.
In reply to aliaskid13
Fair point...
