In reply to Narper

In reply to Yadi

Congrats Shivster!
Good knock by Methuselah! As I said earlier the Muddies are nothing without Methuselah!
In reply to voiceofreason
Dude, we have Johnson, Chandrika, Hemraj and Tage! Btw the best wicket keeping Batman is Bramble!
The great man ton up? Strike rate of 73 too? Lol people getting drunk again tonite
In reply to Narper
Haters craw hurting again
In reply to WestDem
Actually, Bramble has some talent but he does not seem willing to focus each time he goes out to bat
Shiv is something else. I can't believe this guy is performing at the age of 43. It's truly remarkable.
27,039 runs in FC cricket at an average of 54.51 with 77 100's. Staggering numbers.
Making runs all over, in England, in WI. But they nobly had the foresight to drop him in order to protect from injury.
In a world where optics is everything how does this now look?
In reply to Runs
ALL the great man had asked Big PU-C and Simmons for...was TWO test matches more....even the board Prez Cameron agreed the greatman deserved his two test matches....
but naah....in their obscene pompous autocratic haste.....Big PU-C and Simmons fired Shiv.....not realizing their turn was right around the corner....they answered to a higher authority....FIRED too !!!!!!weh Simmons deh today?
In reply to Narper
In reply to Devin... no surprises here.
Shiv is the STANDARD....current regional batting and bowling should be measured by
In reply to Devin
If he was fitter in the first half of his career, he'd be pushing 100 FC 100s by now.
In reply to Narper
Someone saw the senior players not participating in the regional tournaments, will devalue the competition.
Ramdin and Shiv performance should show fans, the competition will be at a higher standard, when the seniors are participating in it
Viv, Andy, Richie, Desmond, Marshall, Garner, Llyod, Gibbs and many others, made the regional competition and West Indies cricket strong.
We cannot blame crowd from staying away, the product is lacking the regional best
In reply to openning
Correct is right
Devon Smith adds value too.
In reply to Devin
So let's put that (77*) into perspective...50+ centuries
1. IVA Richards..... 114 (centuries), (507 matches)
2. G. Greenidge...... 92 (523)
3. A. Kallicharran.... 87 (505)
4. G. Sobers......... 86 (383)
5. R. Kanhai.......... 86 (421)
6. C. Lloyd........... 79 (490)
7. S. Chanderpaul 77*(371)
8. C. Hooper......... 69 (339)
9. R. Marshall....... 68 (602)...surprise
10. B. Lara........... 65 (261)
11. D. Haynes....... 61 (376)
Quality here speaks for itself.
In reply to Discourse
Lies, damn lies and statistics.
Shiv has 16 more 100s in 5 fewer matches than the all time great Dessie Haynes!!!
Ah but shiv runs are meaningless and selfish...
In reply to Discourse
Wow. Impressive. Wouldn't have expected to see some of those names.
In reply to Bigzinc
An anomaly here??? Nah, not quite. Shiv power of concentration has been able to put him right up there. I was sure not many opening batsmen would have graced this list and any other country thus highlighting the quality of Dessie and Gordon.
In reply to Devin
lol, never heard of Roy Marshall before....Bimsters???
In reply to Bigzinc
Shiv has 16 more 100s in 5 fewer matches than the all time great Dessie Haynes!!!
Desmond Haynes is not a all time world great..only deluded West Indians think so
In reply to Discourse
I see those top 6 played a lot more matches than Shiv, except for Sobers maybe.Did any of them play first class pass Shiv's age or did they just play more matches in a shorter career?
In reply to jacksparrow
I don't think any of them played past 43..

2. G. Greenidge...... 92 (523)
3. A. Kallicharran.... 87 (505)
4. G. Sobers......... 86 (383)
5. R. Kanhai.......... 86 (421)
6. C. Lloyd........... 79 (490)
7. S. Chanderpaul 77*(371)
Only recently Shiv started to play county cricket.
From #1 Greenidge to #6 Lloyd...all played county cricket for donkey years...
In reply to Narper
Imagine if he started earlier
In reply to Discourse
I have. Didn't expect to see him that high. To be honest with you, I'm surprised by the entire list, Shiv included. That's a lot of blasted runs from all of those guys.
In reply to Narper
Still the best batsman in the Region at 43 years old.
BTW...he also has 13 List A tons....that's 90 in total...
In reply to Devin
Yep, when i saw the 77 you posted for Shiv, I was really taken aback. But really these are the same guys who shaped WI cricket landscape
In reply to WestDem
By the end of the 2018 season I expect Shiv to be within touching distance of 100 career centuries (FC and LA). He has a maximum of 21 matches to do it (provided he stays fit and the weather doesn't intervene).
In reply to jacksparrow
For now, I think only Lloyd retired at forty.
In reply to Seechy
Yes i feel that may be his goal and then retirement at 45.Perfect.
23 more is a lot though, lets enjoy his performances.
In reply to Discourse
A legend in county cricket, he played for WI before he was 20, at one time Bim had Marshall, Teddy Griffith, Cammie Smith and the best of the lot Sir Conrad Hunte who was making runs as a 18 y.o .
In reply to tc1
Thanks for that bro
