2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1: All hail the 755-horsepower C7 king

I am not usually crazy about American sport cars – but this is a crazy (in a good way) looking beast – 755 hp – not sure where you going to drive it – and the styling is awesome

Holly shit – 840 hp ---I don’t know if a formula 1 carry that much kick

Eight hundred and forty horsepower regained our attention. However, that comes with a caveat: Showroom Demons make 808 ponies on premium fuel, an increase of 101 over the Hellcat.

To unlock 840 in the Demon, buyers must also purchase the Demon Crate. Cost is TBD, but Kuniskis hopes it also will cost $1. In the crate are some skinny front wheels, all the Snap-on tools needed to change tires at the track, a new engine ECU, a new air filter, a low-temperature thermostat, a cover plate to facilitate removing the passenger-side mirror, and a new HVAC switch module with an extra button on it.

That button, a gas-pump silhouette with “HO” in the middle, activates a high-octane engine map (hence the ECU and air filter), increasing power to 840 hp and torque to 770 lb-ft at 4500 rpm, up from 717. Kuniskis says the Demon is emissions compliant no matter what mode it’s running. All the tools and the “runners,” as the skinny wheels are called, fit in a molded piece of foam that stows nicely in the trunk and is easily removed in the paddock.

The Demon hits showrooms this fall with an estimated base price of $85,000, but we suspect transaction prices will be higher due to demand.

Dodge will produce 3000 Demons for the 2018 model year, plus 300 for customers in Canada. There is no word whether a second model year is in the Demon’s future, but it certainly will be remembered for many years to come.

As much as I hate to say it , we're gonna have to put in horsepower limits on these cars. These things are just too fast for normal roads.
The Germans are eyeing 900 BHP with the hybrid era now entering the supersaloons/supercoupes.

Formula 1 in a whole different category, many factors than just raw power..

An F1 with half the displacement will shyte on them both..

Sorry, it will not as you stated above .....see below.

The Demon is electronically limited to 168 mph thanks to the standard Nitto tires, making it the slowest car in the Hellcat family. Both the Hellcat Challenger and Charger have top speeds around 200 mph.

Stock cars can reach speeds of about 200 miles per hour, just a bit slower than F1's 205.Depending on the track, typical Nascar race speeds can vary from 90 miles per hour (140 km/h) at Martinsville to over 200 miles per hour (320 km/h) at Talladega.

No surprises to hear that the fastest ever Formula One race was held at Monza. The 2003 Italian Grand Prix was won by Michael Schumacher, with an average speed of 247.585kph (153.842mph) in just 1 hour 14 minutes and 19.838 seconds,

HP is measured with all the accouterments attached to the engine, to determine its maximum rate and speed.

BHP, on the other hand, is more of a theoretical calculation, which is made under lab-controlled conditions, and without having anything attached to the engine.

World Champion team, Mercedes claim their power unit developed for the 2016 Formula 1 season is over 900 BHP, as part of their ‘major’ off-season development

Analysis: Can F1's new turbos break the 1000bhp barrier?

You will not get any of the current manufacturers to give you a definitive figure, but estimates suggest that engines will be delivering more than 900bhp in 2016.

With F1's V10s having delivered peaks around 900bhp, and V8s around 750bhp, the best engines are now already clear of both those figures, and sights have been set on the magical 1000bhp figure that is great for headlines.

Generally it is accepted that larger engine produces more power. Technically speaking larger the cc means more torque and higher the rpm means more power. But power and torque also depends upon other parameters of the engine. ... So more torque means higher the acceleration and more bhp means higher the top speed.

Padna there's no way in hell or hellcat any of those can come close to an F1 car on any track, that avg speed by Schumacher cannot be bettered or touched by any street car..

If the F1 avg 150+ any other car will avg much less, maybe 120 or so..

I ain't asking you..

"The Big One" Speeds in excess of 200 mph (320 km/h) are commonplace at Talladega. Talladega has the record for the fastest recorded time by a NASCAR vehicle on a closed oval course, with the record of 216.309 mph (348.116 km/h) set by Rusty Wallace on June 9, 2004.

Fastest ever lap – Juan Pablo Montoya, 2004 Italian Grand Prix
The record: 262.242kph (162.950mph)
Fastest race – 2003 Italian Grand Prix
The record: Average speed of 247.585kph (153.842mph)

The 2003 Italian Grand Prix was won by Michael Schumacher, with an average speed of 247.585kph (153.842mph) in just 1 hour 14 minutes and 19.838 seconds, also making it the shortest ever F1 race that wasn’t affected by red flags.

The above is facts

bravs

I been to Nascar and F1 races as a guest of a Spanish driver in Monaco, Montreal, and Toronto.

I was looking on just where guests are behind the pit stop. The same at Nascar.

My curiosity leads me to ask many questions at both type of Races.

The drivers are the ones who told me about the speed around courses as one is oval and the other not.Different parameters, they will never go head to head in competitions.

Nascar Big three GM , Ford and Chrysler(NASCAR) will not race against Mercedes or Honda based on differences.

I have never seen so many beautiful women at the parties afterward, all groupies that follow such races around the world and some are very wealthy, plus other stuff that I cannot mention here.

lol lol lol
