How are they looking with the red ball? Are hey still expressed or have they dropped back to fast medium? Are they doing anything with the ball..causing problems...or are they just harmless

In reply to Baje
Waste ah time
In reply to tc1
I take it you are talking about Thomas when you say overweight ?
In reply to Baje
Has to be said that neither impressed.. they didn't bowl particularly well... neither looked fast to me .. fast medium at best give or take the odd ball... both didn't seem to have much rhythm.
In reply to robbo
Yes,
In reply to Andy99
We agreedn on this, i expected the two to bowl better under the lights
In reply to tc1
Yep... Thomas does appear to have gained weight.. disappointing.
In reply to tc1
Why do you think they'll bowl better under lights?
In reply to spider
The pink ball is supposed or so its said to give the fast bowlers more assistance when the lights come on

See Maispwi respond, in addition, it's night and the weather is cooler and the bowler is more inclined to dissipate more energy.
In reply to Baje
Ah think dat Leverage, like Cotterel, needs a smoother, less energy taxing run up if he is going to be effective and become less injury prone
In reply to Maispwi
Yes ... he's not rhythmical and has a 'hurling' type action... not smooth and repeatable.... he's a very late starter to cricket and I think he will need to improve a lot and quickly if he's going to go anywhere.... Thomas is much younger and has much more time.
I am not particularly pleased by either of them and would not play both in the same team. It seems as if both hear that pace is the way to go and so they run a 100 metres race up to the crease and deliver. I do not see much thought going into the bowling except raw pace and hope for the best. They are bound to have injuries with that sort of approach and they will get hit for runs because there is no plan. I much prefer to see that Louis guy from Leeward Islands who seems to be thinking about what he is doing and has more skill than they do.
In reply to robbo
your advice is a like coach, very well spoken especially with regard to Leveridge, it's difficult to start cricket in your late teens and have all the skill set to make it to test level.
In reply to Maispwi
I doubt very much that there is more assistance for the bowlers under lights.
Also, the ball is supposed to swing more in cold weather but the difference here would hardly be enough to be noticeable.
In reply to spider
Forgive me if I take the word of the players who have played with the pink ball over someone who bases his conclusion on doubt.
In reply to Maispwi
Oh thats ok. I'd do the same. Though you seemed to have some doubt yourself since you used words like "supposed" and " so it's said."
Never saw the hype in Leveridge, yes he has pace but how many of those we have and it got no where? Pace alone ain't everything.
Shane Thomas I have time for, he can develop. Still early days for him.
In reply to jen
The question is this. Will Thomas and Smith choose to focus more on t20s where you can get more returns for shorter matches?
In reply to tc1
I know what you meant to say, but please look up 'dissipate' in yuh dictionary.
They have pace. But I agree with others that the rest of their skills need help. I did see Leverage move the ball - good off-cutter. Need a good coach to help them with moving the ball from good line and length and we will be in business. Ambrose would be a good study for them.
I had the pleasure of speaking to Oshane Thomas at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston Jamaica 2 weeks ago. If he is fat then he must have become fat in 2 weeks. When I spoke to him he was lean and very tall.
Sometimes when you see the shit people post here to support their insularity it makes you realize there are a lot more Trumps in our future.
In reply to Outswinger
it has several usages, trying to say 'dispel" energy'
In reply to tc1
Somebody has a calypso, maybe Classic: 'I en finish it!' De student did not finish the assignment......in other words the catch line is a play on 'I en finish shit'. So I have to tell you dat you en finish it.
