Not surprising, it is what the great batter has been doing for a while now, but was is surprising is the usual posters come here having a field day and insinuating that somehow Shiv is still right to be on the WI test team.
I hardly agree with the suckers who run our cricket and the dirty selectors who get to pick our team and are accountable to none, but in this instance, the decision to not have Shiv as a player, was and it remains a correct one .
If the Guyanese administrators want to let him As a player in their national team at the expense of blocking A young and future talent that is their business and their future cricket will not be better for it.
As far as WI cricket is concern, Shiv should have a role, perhaps mentoring young talent will serve our future well.

So Shiv Made Another Ton
Shiv is blocking a youngster the same way ALL old people... people over 65 yrs old [still in the workforce] are blocking the younger generation to get a job.
In reply to RemainsUnknown
Incorrect, in the workplace what you are supporting is called age discrimination.

Ah wonder how Emir feel about Darren Bravo selection fuh any WI team currently?
In reply to WestDem
Darren Bravo's BPL bench is not in anybody's path..
In reply to Khaga
Man prefer warm BPL bench fuh chump change rather than represent the Red Force...
In reply to WestDem
Very self-less servant of cricket..not blocking any path anywhere..
In reply to Khaga
If you ask me, he is a lazy bum....juss at de BPL to earn some free money!
In reply to Emir
Who is he blocking? Who is this wonderful batting talent who is warming the bench? Give me a freaking break. If there were talented players they would be playing and kicking in the door to selection.
Age is but a number. Where is it written that a sportsman must retire at 30? or 32? If the person is fit and able; and he has demonstrated that he is, why should he stop playing? To please you? At what age did you retire?
In reply to WestDem
DB strikes me as a big headed empty brains sort
In reply to Emir
Are you going to pay him to perform that role?
Shiv is still getting paid to play cricket whether it's for Guyana or Lancs....
In reply to bobbywell said
Shiv loves nothing more than playing cricket. Bach cricket, league cricket, caribban cricket, duck curry cricket...you name it, Shiv is the quintessential ball-oil.
The man is a hopeless cricket addict.
In reply to Runs
...and the CWI is not discriminating against Shiv for his age?
Doesn't matter one's age... if they are [still] fit for the job... they should [continue to] work if that's what the employer wants.

I would love to see him play professionally until 50 yo if he still is an asset on his respective teams.
In reply to RemainsUnknown
Shiv had a case, but they would have countered he was sacked for non performance.
In reply to Runs
Just goes to show... the motto today is "what have you done for me lately...?"
Shiv should've at least got those 2 tests at home... he deserved it.
In reply to Runs... Wasn't Kyle's non performance over a longer period?
In reply to RemainsUnknown
Yes, he deserved a send off home series.
In reply to Emir
