For next match v Volcanoes

Bridgetown, Barbados, November 14 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Keon Harding replaces fellow fast bowler Shakeem Clarke in the Barbados Pride 13-man squad for the fourth Digicel Regional first-class match against Windward Islands Volcanoes at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent, November 16-19.

Clarke has been dropped... I’m afraid that he looked innocuous from what I saw on the live stream. Now over to Harding... hope he has better luck.

Yeah I managed to watch him a little bit last year via the live stream. he didn’t rip up trees etc but I did like the look of him... skiddly quick and this was picked up on by the comms

I’ve tried to follow his his progress in BCA club cricket and he does ok but nothing more. My concern is that he is one of those bowlers that look good but achieve littlle. He is young though and of course time will tell. I hope he has a lot more luck than poor old Clarke did who had a torrid time in his debut matches.

Clarke was also badly handled. In his second match against the Leewards he only had the opportunity to bowl in one innings. He bowled much improved lines and lengths and got the first wicket was taken off and then didn't bowl again until the end of the innings when Stoute et al couldn't knock over the tail! Of course he bowled just one ball to dismiss the last man....

Against Jamaica, in the first innings he only bowled 4 overs for 25 runs, just about the same performance as Greaves who bowled 5 overs for 27 runs and then wasn't seen again with the ball for the rest of the match. Ridiculous when you consider that Barbados needed to get wickets to win the match in the second innings.

I have no problem with the young Clarke being dropped, but he was not managed well by either Stoute or Brooks and did not deserve to be treated so.

Agree, I think he would be an improvement over Clarke.

I disagreed, young Clarke had 3 games to show his value and didn't, very ordinary.

No problem with Harding. He should have started the season as he had a few matches last year before he was sidelined with injury.

I still want Springer for Williams!

Well, I saw nothing encouraging. Not a lot of pace, not good line and length either. So he needs to go back and work on it.

Bestian 2017-11-15 17:17:03

Agreed on both counts Outswinger

batting looks weak, I like Jones, he could come in to bat 4/5, Springer at 6

What has Jones done locally, other than looking good?
How many tons has he scored in the last 3-4 years, in the Elite division?
I would like to see Springer, that ton in the WC, speaks plenty, along with his personality.

Man get off Jones. He is one of the better young batsmen in Barbados. Who would you want to play as a batsman over him. Not only that the youth is a pretty fair leg spinner. The captain should allow him to bowl some also. Most of the WI players are at sea against that. Bunch of 30 somethings going nowhere and youths to sit at home.

I never said the youngster cannot bat, I dislike fans praising batsman, that cannot score 500-600 runs in a local series
If Aaron or any youngster cannot score a couple tons per season, how many would you expect him to score, at the regional level?
Be realistic bro

Jones is a very good player, Jones scored over 400 runs with 2 tons 2 years ago, he has scored runs this year as well as last year.

He had the highest score 150+ in u19 regional and was unlucky not to have made the u19 WC team in 2014.

Seen the youth bat and know he can. With a loaded Bim team he is blocked but at this time he should play. You can pull up many locals who are just LOCAL when it comes to stats.
