Lara Cricket Academy Wickets?????

azadtnt 2017-11-16 15:54:05

What I’m seeing is very disappointing on this new ground where we might as well have a funeral for it. The wicket is dead nothing in it for the bowlers and the very difficult for batsmen to Time the ball.

How are we to progress in the sport playing on such poor wickets?

Shame on the ground staff and those responsible. I have planned to visit TT during the next Barbados game and looking forward to seeing some good cricket. After watching this second match playing there I have lost interest. I might as well walk with a pillow if I attend.

This is one of the reasons our batsmen and bowlers are unable to be effective against the top international teams.

This NEEDS to be corrected ASAP !!!

The wicket where the bowler is running up is crumbling also.

Plus we gats idiot bowlers who are bowling 4 balls out of every over 3 ft from the stumps.

redface redface

Yeah you Will not find good wickets in Trinidad ever and also in Guyana. The soil is like powder

Bourda still got a decent batting deck..

The pitch at the BCL academy looks similar to Providence.. so the Jaguars players gonna feel at home..

Will it break up later on ? Like the Dubai pitches giving the team batting first a massive advantage?

The pitches throughout the region is becoming slower and lower. This is not only a Trinidad issue.

azadtnt 2017-11-17 10:33:01

Guaracarra pitches were good pitches that was well maintained. I strongly believe it’s the preparation is the main issue. Andy Roberts can verify this by improving the preparation condition up there.

I personally think its an easy issue to fix, I made suggestions for the Providence wicket and was happy to see that they relaid the surface last year.

Someone in Trinidad needs to consult the Geological department in a local university or government department to see if there is a geological map of clay belts in Trinidad. Next the soil needs to be strength tested for cohesiveness and strength. This simply done by taking small balls of dried clay and putting weights on them until they crumble. The strongest clay is then combined into the local pitch turf until you get the right combination that will have pace and bounce.

In hindsight the tracks were prepared to recognize Lara as the
greatest batsman on flat tracks.

Pitch seems to assist the Guyana spinners enough.
