That's BS.I was there back in 97/98 and the place was booming.
Everything was heading towards the MDC winning the elections and the place getting even better for everyone.
It's a shame.That place could be so awesome if it were just well run.
better for the white ruling class under Smith yes, you had a revolution which created a black elite and certain redistribution of wealth,country will adjust overtime.
Well now the worry is does one corrupt regime simply get replaced with another, or will we see leadership that genuinely tries to improve the lot for all citizens.

Brits, in general, tend to think all of their former colonies were better off under Her Majesty's rule..Fcuking BBC takes a dim view of all the former colonies. Ironically, people one former colony share the same view about another.

Many who are commenting have never been to Africa.
If one visits South Africa and see the disappointment in the students, some gave their lives. Life under the UNC has been hell with corruption. Their lives have regressed.
To kill 50,000 of one's people and to see how some of the rest live in poverty, I shall always remember.
The same occurred in Uganda.
Ethnic cleansing has never helped any Country as history shows.
We are the lucky ones.

But I'm talking about blacks in South Africa who are saying life was better for them under apartheid notwithstanding the institutionalized racism, the brutal violence, and the suppression of their political leaders during that time.
